I think the football Gods have decided that we'll smash Liverpool similar to how we smashed Chelsea. Hopefully that kick starts us and derails their title charge at same time

That's pretty unfair, winning a game against the team top of the table would be a very good performance and wouldn't happen without positive signs for the team. It's not going to happen though, which is why even theorising about it feels much like those teams outside the Top 6 who used to fantasise about beating Man Utd.
Unfortunately, that is what happens when you come off such a bad period, both performances and results wise.

It may seem unfair, but there is no confidence that we would ever continue with good performances. The evidence suggests otherwise.

Anyone thinking a thrashing today will see the back of Ole in the next few days are about to be disappointed I think. Can't see Ole going for a few more weeks at least.

    Dont worry about it.

I don't believe that he can turn it around, though. That is the problem. If I had seen something to the contrary, I would be wanting us to win and see him continue.

I will see any positive result as an aberration from the norm. I would enjoy a good performance and a win against Liverpool, but I think we will return to normal against Norwich. This is same as what happened with PSG. Loved that result, but led to him being abruptly appointed manager that has led to a string off bad results and performances.

I don't like watching Manutd play badly or losing any time, which has been happening consistently since his permanent appointment. That is why I will take one more if it means a change.
If we win today then you will have seen something to the contrary.

If LFC put their foot down, we could get thumped.
I think Moyes lost by 3-4 goals (against LFC and MCFC), but Ole could get beaten even worse.
Remember Moyes is a level above Ole.
    Currently in 14th place.

I come into the footie forum for our biggest fixture of the season and I'm confronted with negative twists wanting us to lose massively.
I don't want us to lose, but looking at the objective facts, I can't see anything else.
Of course, this is football, 11 vs 11, which means on the day, any team can beat any other team.

PS. I still can't comprehend that we are in 14th place.
Why the hell are fans accepting this?
So much apathy. So much acceptance that 14th place is where we belong.

Moyes did have better players than Ole was able to use last games.

You got me there, but belief that we will reproduce any good result/performance is the main issue. I don't believe we will be able to.

Although, I cannot see us getting a result anyway. I think they will outplay us, but the scoreline will not be very high. I don't actually think we will get a walloping, even though I put that post.

Did ANYONE think we'd beat Chelsea 4-0 after the way last season ended? We CAN counter Liverpool because they will not be parking any buses. We're not as shit when teams don't park the bus. I'm actually more optimistic about our chances against Liverpool than I am against Norwich and Bournemouth.

The delusion is very strong in this one.

As if, we couldn't derail a children's train set at the moment with this shower of players. I'm off to the match now, and I'd be surprised at anything less than 0-3 to them.

Liverpool have van Dijk as defender. Chelsea had Zouma playing. That is a huge difference...

If we win we go 7th and cut the gap to 12 points to 1st place and 5 points to 3rd place. If we beat Liverpool our season MUST start now. There's no logical reason we can't finish 3rd if confidence of the players gets back to where it should be. How many games did we win consecutively when Solskjaer was caretaker?

Expecting us to lose and wanting us to lose are 2 very different things.

If we get thumped 4-0, which is possible given our injuries and their form, this place will be full of supporters who wanted us to win calling for Solskjaer to be sacked immediately.

I wouldn't agree with them as I think Solskjaer is the right person for the job long term and is just struggling with a poor squad, an injury crisis and some bad luck.

I get what he meant too but still very deluded
I can't disagree. That tweet posted above by @Tom Van Persie makes it look like he is in it for the long haul no matter what happens. I would love to know what they are seeing behind the scenes that makes them so optimistic. Yet a good result today could change everything. Very small margins between European places and relegation places.

Why is everyone expecting a thumping. A dull 1-0 loss makes more sense

MUFC has the best defense in the Premier League says the 'exepcted Goals Against' stats. ie, we're the hardest team to score on. This metric values the 'quality' of shots allowed.

AWB is back, DDG is playing (hopefully 100%), Martial is back. This could be one for the history books
