So the ruling here is (and once again I am just talking about the lakers atm) Melo cant make a 15 man rotation but KCP can? Thats not even to mention other scrubs who play on worse teams. Towards the end of his tenure at Houston he seemed to start to accept the role and off the bench had a 24,22, and 27 point game and he could give a team that right now.

15 man rotation 30 teams 450 players I think the guy can make the bench. I would hate to see him retire in this fashion being almost forced out the league.
He only played 10 games for the Rockets before they realised he wasn't worth the hassle. Your over reaction on him being out of the league is hilarious because you've clearly not watched him play for OKC and Rockets. He plays 0 defense and lets up more points than he scores, that's the current Melo that's being kept out of the league, not prime Melo who could win scoring titles.

Melo isn't a political/controversial man in the sense that he would only be blackballed just because of basketball reasons. He could make the bench of several teams to play garbage time (and defo zero minutes during playoff runs) but teams must see it as an unnecessary risk

How much would Melo demand in money? That's what it comes down to really. Doubt he'd have a hard time finding a team if he were willing to: a) accept his role as a role player and b) accept getting paid as one of the myriad easy-to-replace role players in the league

I did and they had him play as a spot up shooter which he is not and never was at OKC then at the rockets in the beginning was not willing to come off the bench until he then "accepted it" so he says and had 20+ point games off the bench.

I am not talking about prime Melo saying he should be a starter. I am talking about the fecking bench. KCP is on the bench and he has a grand total of 1 point over like 40 minutes spanned across 2 games.

I give up.

It's pointless telling you anything when all you know about basketball is points scored.

It doesn’t matter, he couldn’t demand more than minimum. He signed for minimum with Houston and would sign for minimum for anyone else as well.

KCP is so much better than current Melo that they shouldn’t really belong in the same sentence.

That’s good defence and a lucky shot to be fair.

Pelicans were so good in the first quarter last night but went downhill from there. Luka on the other hand struggled in first quarter but figured out his game against good defenders after that.

Pels will come good though. They have plenty of quality, depth and upside even with Zion injured.

Pelicans need to stop Lonzo shooting the basketball.

It's going to be so confusing when people starting calling Lamelo Ball "Melo"

Sure man. In the case of the lakers what they need off the bench is someone who can score points which is what I have been saying but if you can’t see that then I give up.

Both games this season have proved that point so far.

But ok I’m wrong your right Convo over.

As a Kincks fan, I just wanted to endorse all the Carmelo bashing on here, it's fully deserved.

Considering he sometimes had hard time passing the ball during his career it's only fitting teams will pass on Melo now.

Not many worse things for team chemistry then a former superstar with such an ego who is practically finished.

In defence of Melo, I think the 'he's a problem in the lockeroom' rhetoric is exaggerated. Melo in OKC was a great teammate. He was polite and respectful the entire season (even when things were going badly). It wasn't until the end of the season where he became problematic. The real issue with signing Melo is that you're signing the superstar Melo. They mentioned this on the Lowe Post the other day. While he isn't a superstar, and maybe even he recognises this, you're signing the perception of Melo. It'll be a distraction. Questions will be asked about his role, his performance and his fit on the team. It's not worth the drama he brings.

Yeah and at the Rockets he wasn't a problem in the locker room, actually I think waiving him was the reason Paul and Harden fallen out, but he did affect the team chemistry negatively, he takes stupid shots, he doesn't pass the ball once he gets it, and he doesn't defend, he is just a negative value now, I think he could've been an even better player during his career if he just put his ego to the side a bit.

Mad game between Milwaukee and Miami. Somehow Bucks caught them at the end but lost overtime despite having the momentum, lots of twists and turns. They should have never found themselves to be trailing in 4th quarter, they were up by 17 at half!

They don't need Melo, they need a ball handler and spot up shooters like all LeBron team needs.

Welp 0-3.....tank for LaMelo!!:D

Also RJB:drool::drool: kid looks like he could be the real deal. I am surprised about his perimeter shooting as I felt it was a weaker part of his game. Either way I just hope the Knicks don’t feck this one up in typical Knicks fashion.

Even if this Knicks team tries to win, they will still tank.

Shame that Ayton is suspended, the Suns actually look like a decent lab this year.

I regret so much not putting a substantial amount on Indiana under. The best bet I have seen, their line was 48.5 and they will be very lucky to get past 44. Might even struggle to get past .500 if Oladipo does not return by the end of 2019.

Suns look like a competent team now. Perhaps they will fall away eventually and end up around 35 wins but will definitely be more competitive in games than they were last season.

Unlucky loss for Pelicans who shot quite well. I still maintain that they will come good though, even before Zion makes a return.

Trae Young has been absolutely fantastic so far this year. He’s such an incredible scorer and playmaker.
