He's made what appears to be a subtle dig at Jody Morris's record with the academy in his interview.

His interview was interesting because he made a point about how much he liked the squad and how he didn't necessarily think he immediately needs to sign players. Levy's got him towing the line for now until the first bit of turbulence hits. I honestly can't wait for the Mou show to start in earnest.

Where will the money come from, he wasnt happy with the financial support he had at Man Utd so im not sure he will be able to 'build' with Sours who have even less financial resources, and if they dont make the CL for next season it will be even worse. He will have to dig in at Spurs and get back to his coaching roots rather than relying on the Chairman to bail him out. And if Levy does have a war chest to give to Mourinho why didnt he go all out and get the very best for Poch especially after they made the CL final.

Morris was a coach of our youth side during Jose's second stint and has hinted in a few interviews that Jose didn't give a feck about and never watched the academy (so there is some bitterness there).

In the longer term Jody has not been shy in voicing his displeasure at the lack of chances for academy players down the years, something he referred back too as recently as his interview on BT before the Ajax (home) game.

So what are the realistic targets for Mourinho's Spurs this season?
I wish him luck, but not against us. He will win some trophy and I wouldn't be suprised if he won Champions League or som domestic cup this year. He loves underdog mentality and he will get it now.

No, that's not what I'm saying. Don't misrepresent what I'm trying to say. My point is that Maguire wouldn't make a difference to our defensive issues at the moment because our defensive issues aren't to do with our defenders, they're to do with our midfield which isn't pulling its weight when we don't have the ball. If we'd signed him he'd be getting exposed just as badly as Otamendi and Stones are and he'd be down as one of the flops of the season.
He's going to absolutely excellent at Spurs I'm afraid. Sissoko, Harry Kane, Son, Ndombele, Dier, Alli are all going to flourish under him.
Even if you absolutely adored your boss, if he has a reputation of not bringing in the required results (in this case, trophies) it's bound to affect the morale of the whole company. Lots of people say Poch took Spurs to the champions league final as recent as this year, how could they possibly sack him? And after all he has done for these past 5 years? While it's an incredible achievement to go that far in the tournament, it was probably the last straw for some players. And Spurs won absolutely feck all during his reign. Poch couldn't possibly take them further.
Now they're bringing in a man who is obsessed with winning trophies, antd I think that winning mentality is going to rub off on the whole squad. It's exactly what Spurs need at the moment. He doesn't need a butt load of cash in this project, he has a lot of more than capable players at his disposal already.

It's so pathetic to see. I feel like people are praying their beloved "Jose" does the best he can to spite our club and to fuel their own need for drama, so they can keep moaning and being disrespectful to our current manager and players.
I think Spurs have made a massive cock up, in appointing Jose, he will as always get the best out of them, but a new manager always more often than not gets a reaction from the players.
He's got the best striker in the league, but so did Poch! Just got a feeling it's a bridge to far for him with this club.

Depends on whether they achieve CL football next season or not. At this point, it looks fairly unlikely.
I'm not surprised by this cause when Jose Mourinho was the manager of our club the general media and a lot of our fans were throwing around the claim that he is 'holding the club back because he was resistant to the idea of a director of football figure being implemented'. Yet Duncan Castles repeatably mentioned on his Transfer Window Podcast that despite his initial concerns, Jose had actually requested to Ed Woodward to appoint Luis Campos and yet this request was denied and then the media were briefed that it was Jose's fault for the club not having a person for that role.
I agree, that purple is hideous.
Jose will do well as he wanted half this Spurs squad at Utd.
Interesting he's gone for a difference choice as assistant, 30 year old who was recently at Lille. Guess that means he's cut ties with likes of Rui Faria and the older guy who came with him to every club?
I think he is still a good manager, how well he does depends on how he handles himself after being denied what he thinks he needs. Even last season when he had lost the dressing room and was in total meltdown there were few signs that he still knew what he was doing - I am think of that Newcastle comeback and the win away to Juve.
At Spurs he has Son, Kane, Moura and he will like the Belgian duo at the back. There is every possibility of him doing quite great things with that side.
What's interesting is that within a few hours of his appointment Spurs are going after Campos. Exposing the lie that Woodward briefed about Jose not wanting a Sporting Director in and how much of a joke our attempts at recruiting one are. If they pull it off then it proves once and for all that Woodward is the one blocking this appointment.
