How did he manage to end up with the knife.
And why is he running away with it? If id just seen someone shot id be sht scared they thought i was part of it. So would definitely not be running off with a knife!
Chucking a hanky on the floor!

Looks like a bag of coke? Also see some people saying on Twitter now that he disarmed the attacker.
Yeah it looks like that from some of the clips ... Some said in an earlier clip it looked like he had a cloth / handkerchief he wiped the knife with... But I've not seen that... I can't see any blood on what he threw and yeah it looks like a bag of drugs
Some say in some clips he is speaking Catalonian to his kids and telling them to keep back so not sure what has happened but if he did tackle the guy and halo take the knife and it is a big bag of drugs I hope the police let him keep them

It could be anything. A piece of paper, a tissue, he may have used it whilst restraining the attacker and due to sheer adrenaline and shock he threw it away whilst keeping hold of the knife. It all looks strange but who knows what is going through the blokes head.

In some earlier clips he was standing just off the guy who was pinning the (alleged?) terrorist down
Looked like he was hanging close enough if the guy got free to intervene (stab him?) But keep the knife far enough away .
When the police arrived he stepped back
Then it all looks a bit strange as he drops the knife and some say it's a hankie he cleaned the knife with... Or it's a bag of coke
In reality if that were me and I had a chunk of coke I'd have ripped the bag and chucked it over the side of the bridge not on the floor... So I'm going with hankie

Doubt he’d be smashing coke whilst with his kids. That’s low

It’s not a bag of drugs. If he’s thinking straight enough to think ‘I’ve got to get rid of these’ he would surely have launched them in the river.

I think anyone alluding to drugs has clearly got some issues with their own lifestyle

You're never, ever throwing away that much cocaine on a street full of people, police and camera's. And if you were, that's going straight into the thames.

He threw a bag of flour on the ground, he was going to bake a cake but the ordeal made him lose his appetite.

My mother in law was there earlier and got told by police to run away. Absolutely horrific.

Don't want any other potential threats to get it. Don't want to lose the evidence.

I'd have chucked it over the bridge though.

Might have been a hoax explosive vest but that bullet in his head looks to be pretty legit. Absolute piece of shit, took pleasure in seeing the police eliminating the threat, great work from everyone involved there.

Sickening seeing people use this to suit a political agenda and people on Twitter criticising the police for shooting the inhuman scum, let's see how you'd want the police to react if you were stood out on that bridge.

RIP to all innocent lives lost :(

Arsehole alert.

Boris and Trump and NRA sniffing an opportunity for upcoming post BrExit trade deal?

If we’re going to become the satellite state to USA might as well go the whole hog.

From the footage I saw it seems quite simple. He was originally right on the scene where the have a go hero tackled the guy. He picked up the knife (I guess to stop it being used again) after the bloke dropped it. The police turned up and when the shooting started he hurries away from the action with the knife in his hand warning people to back up down the bridge – he even seems to be holding the knife delicately to avoid disturbing fingerprints or something at the end of the close up video on post #44

A different angle here

These things happen so fast and it can be unclear who the bad guys are. That guy running with the knife  why didn’t he drop it? Shock I suppose. Still, I’m glad the police weren’t too trigger happy and go after him.

Why would he throw a hanky on the floor? Doesn't make sense.

There's 567,445 doses of cocaine snorted every day in London and it's a Friday afternoon - definitely wouldn't be surprised if it was his evening stash

One of the members of the public helping tackle him was on the radio. Said they didn't realise he had a (hoax) bomb on him till they turned him over. That's when that very decisive officer cleared everyone off him and put him down.

Can't begin to imagine the intensity of a situation like that. Well done those men.

After disarming the attacker, I hope somebody returns this brave gentleman his coke.

The internet is a big place, anything that can be said, will be said by some cnut somewhere. No reason to spread any of it.
Yeah feck all that. We don't want guns here.

Amazing response from the police and the public. Don't care what that guy threw away he's an absolute hero along with everyone else that stepped in.

Hankie to wipe the knife of his own prints, and then throws it away

They wouldn't search some random at the scene surely, so if he had contraband (in the middle of the day, alongside his wife and kids) why even throw it on the floor, as opposed to over the bridge, let alone within 50metres of police, and clearly someone filming him!

Hankie bloke would have been pulsing with adrenaline. That makes you do things you wouldn't normally do. Bunch of armchair warriors here saying what they would have done is daft.
