He is a Utd legend in the making, starting to make the step from potential to consistent production. Will still have dips but the next 3/4 years he will be essential watching.

Our talisman. Amazing again tonight! Glad Ole kept him on the left. It's clear he is a lot better there and can go onto be a fantastic wide forward.

13 goals and 4 assists in 20 apps.

First 10/10 I've awarded for a long long time.

Never knew he had this level of performance in him. World class and top drawer.

Unreal first half today. He looked like the sort of player we all expect him to be.

such a shame that long shot didn’t go in, and that tired last attempt! Should have had a hattrick.

next step in his development is to get that first half performance all match.

Can you imagine how scary Rashford would be if we had a strong midfield that can carry ball, pass and control midfield?

Feel for him sometimes because he gets some really cringeworthy comments thrown at him. When he plays well he’s the next Ronaldo and when he plays poorly he needs to be loaned out. We’ll see one half come out over the next few days and the other half will come out next time he struggles. It’s pretty cringeworthy but it is what it is I guess.

The reality is somewhere closer to the middle IMO but he was brilliant tonight.
I think he received some fair criticism when he was playing centre forward (he really was that bad) , although some of the comments were way over board. I think Ole has realised his best position /role and is sticking with him there.

Having a pretty good scoring season isn't he despite still getting a fair bit of stick. Real point to prove game v Mourinho tonight.

9 in the league, 2 in cup v Chelsea and always scored a few this season for England. If he stays fit should break through 20 goal barrier for first time in his career.

Still a work in progress as central striker but he's doing o.k from my neutral perspective.

Certainly wouldn't mind him in my team after watching another 90 minutes of Wesley tonight!

He was absolutely electric, 2 goals, hit the bar, had 2 good shots, he was all over them. I guess he's better than Welbeck eh?

He was brilliant tonight, but you kind of knew he would be against a team that gives him space. Amazing that Mourinho didnt plan for that.

Best attacking performance I've seen in a long time for United by this lad today, absolutely phenomenal.

I don't think his future is as a CF, mate. He's on another level on the left.

I reckon that if Martial had stayed fit, thus preventing Marcus from having that brief period as our lone CF, it could've been likely that he would've already been around 20 goals. Without our main playmaker in Pogba for, what, 90% of the season so far, too.

Exactly. We all saw in that OT game against Chelsea where Herrera followed Eden hazard on the pitch. Surprised that Mourinho just gave him the freedom of the pitch. I thought he would double, even triple team him since he is the only player on the pitch capable of taking on multiple players.

Yep and that's completely fine too. There are plenty of prolific players that do well on the wing and he looks like he could be one of the elite ones.

Amazing form right now. Has scored over a goal per game since Liverpool. Only game he failed was against Bournemouth.

Here's hoping!

It's great to see him looking like he's going up a level, and taking the added responsibility of (already!) being one of our more experienced attackers in his stride. I just wish Martial could stay fit and do the same.

He's at his best when he's very direct; get the ball and just run at the center of the defense. He really does resemble the 06/07 Ronaldo when he does that.

Did he not play central tonight? I assumed he did and Greenwood was out wide just from looking at the team.

Forgot to say he's also doing this without Man. United's sole source of creativity in midfield missing most of the season as you reference.

save posts like this for the end of the season Marcus!!

I swear once his decision making matures, he will be so so much better.

And people need to stop this need for him to play center forward. No one is asking Mane or Salah tk play CF.

Ah cheers, surprised by that with it being Greenwood's first prem start but clearly from the result and performance the tactic worked a treat and probably surprised Mourinho a bit.

I think that was a specific comment to Mourinho after what he was saying about him during his punditry. He subtly says "spur" me on as well.

His best game in a Utd shirt yet? Thought he was electric, Shaw robbed him off his first hat-trick.

Rashford has been on top form on the left, wouldn't make sense to move him out. Only really leaves Greenwood as an option to play upfront with Martial out.

He's at that level now where we're starting to expect this kind of performance from him. His ball retention and passing has really improved, seems to play with his head up a lot more.

That right peg is phenomenal, it's a thing of beauty the way he strikes the ball, so clean and with such venom. When was the last time we've had a player who makes you get up of your seat almost every time he gets the ball? His form since the international break has just been phenomenal. He's impacting every game he plays, and not just with his goals.

He's still only 22, so there's still room to improve, no doubt more ups and downs ahead. But watching him these last few games, he's gone from being questioned and doubted to our talisman. Long may it continue.

He should be having 14 goals and 5 assists in reality, don't know what is up with those stats on the site. World class player.

Shaw put it on a plate for him after that, though. We're just not allowed to score hattricks anymore.
