While the statement does not specifically mention other clubs, I'm sure the verdict has taken City, Atletico, Madrid and Barcelona's verdicts and appeals into consideration.

To think that one organisation went so hard on us and so easy on the rest. Its come across as very unprofessional at a time when they are supposed to be rebuilding their own credibility.

For what it's worth, we might make one signing but I really think that depends how fit the squad is after Xmas. Frank trusts this squad and has created an environment for them to flourish. Too many changes could disrupt that.

Pedro will go. Willian possibly. I think the club will want Sancho more than Zaha of course.
I'm not saying there isn't a need for wingers, I'm saying a full back and a striker will probably be higher up the list, maybe even a midfielder. And you probably aren't going to spend £150m on wingers after spending £50 on Pulisic, as well as the other positions.

Not entirely sure but I think the others also appealed their bans and got them reduced.
The CAS statement confirms the original ban over stated Chelsea's transgressions by two thirds. That's a significant error and it makes you wonder how they could be so wrong.
If I was Roman I would be banging on FIFA's front door asking for my £230k back immediately.

The team is screaming out for a world class centre half so maybe trigger Koulibalys release clause. It's set at £150m but maybe they would take less. Its a bit of a step down but Ake would help. Sancho and Chilwell in the summer.

Lets get back to ruining football.;)

We don't need anymore midfielders. That's our deepest position. RW and striker should be priorities and then a LB in the summer.

3 strikers already for a 1 man position. Unless you move on Giroud/Batshuayi, not sure you'll get another now?

I agree you need a replacement for Pedro/Willian eventually, but think Willian is still doing well.

Lots of talk about them going for Sancho. I thought Callum played on the right? If so what's the point of brining in Sancho? I know it's a big upgrade but there's a lot of potential in Hudson Odoi and I feel he's too good to be a squad player. Are they gonna put Sancho on the right and Callum on the left maybe?

I really cant see any viable transfers in this coming window. All these fantasy targets are popping up but its not football manager.

I hope they go on a shopping spree just for the sake it which will disrupt their dressing room harmony thus resulting their season collapsing.

Word is they're going straight in for Sancho.. I think might appeal to him a bit more considering them being in less of mess, he's played in Manchester already, and the whole London location thing

He's also a boyhood Chelsea fan and very close mates with Tammy and CHO.

I personally wouldn't touch Zaha with a 10 foot pole - sideways move at best and there are questions over his ability to fit into a big team (e.g. can he pass the ball every once in a while). Sancho is clearly a better fit - 8 years younger, would be another young English talent, and will be far better 5 years from now.

Youcef Atal would be a nice fit - he can play either wing position or either fullback role.

We will miss out on Sancho because Ole couldn't get the club over the line for 4th when the opportunity presented itself last season.

Then you've got the Glazers and their difficulties facilitating the deal. I don't entirely see Sancho at Chelsea I think this narrative is being spearheaded by the fans but I think Chelsea have more of an allure given the locality, as well as their current consistency as a team. Then there's the proposed interest from Liverpool.

Surely Leicester won't sell Chilwell at this point of the season for a start.
Also I wouldnt go into despair over Sancho. He'd cost a lot and it seems we've tighten our purse. Better to go for 2, 3 cheaper ones than one expensive. We need to go from a scratch again and stop with buying big stars believing that will get us back to the top quickly.

Sancho can play on either flank and apparently prefers the left. Anyway, doesn't Hudson-Odoi play on the left and Pulisic on the right?

So you're sure he'd come if we finished 4th or it's just another cheap shot at Ole?

Nothing about our transfer activity in the last 10 to 15 years suggests that's true.

We'd have to be out of our minds to pass up on Sancho in favour of 2 or 3 cheaper options.

So let's say we somehow land him which I doubt, how much money will be left for other transfers, especially in midfield.

That's up to the club to figure out.

We'd be crazy to pass up on arguably the best young player in Europe if it's possible to get him.

Besides, do you really trust our shitty scouting network to find 3 good players for the price of one Sancho?

No. I dont trust the club to both land Sancho and few more additions (if we buy him it will probably be him and 2 more tops) or the 2nd option.

I reckon Roman will back Lampard, he's looking promising - 3-4 first-team ready signings to compliment the youngsters and they'll be cemented for top 4. With room for improvement next season.

Odds for other big European clubs letting top players go for an acceptable fee in January, unless their contract is running down? I'm going for close to zero.

Sancho possible in the summer I think along with some of those other rumours.

Maybe a swap with Lyon, Giroud for Moussa Dembélé + Cash?

Meh the damage was already done with the summer ban. Much like us they won't find much in the way of available good players in January.

Of course we won't sign all of them. But aren't you going a bit ott yourself claiming we won't get any of them?
Because its January and they are all complicated deals. Its not as if Chelsea are suddenly the only side with money and the world is their oyster.
Plus didnt Roman pull back on spending before you were banned?

Midfield, fair enough. But the rest of your post supports what I say. If you get Zaha and Werner, for example, not a huge need for Sancho.
