The secret is that numbers on the ground don’t correlate with numbers of the polls because the pollsters are lazy, they go to their base get a load of answers and weight them to their hearts content. There’s two things in this election that the pollsters have missed, huge engagement of young people and the vast numbers of people undecided. The undecideds are facing a moral issue, vote for Brexit and get Tories destroying the country for a further 5 years or give Labour a shot and have another crack at Brexit. A lot are warming to the latter because of the campaign Labour is running on the ground. That one on one connection with people has been the difference that has pulled it back against all the media offensive against Labour. That together with young voter turnouts is what will at the very least deny Tories a majority tomorrow. It’s not all over, there’s one more day to go and it’s going to be a big day so really I should get some sleep but I’m too fecking ecstatic.

To think that after the last debate I was so fecking resigned to a Tory majority because ai believed all the media bubble. That one day of canvassing changed the whole perspective of this election and I could see everyone was absolutely passionate and optimistic from everything they were hearing in the doorstep. I hope that at the very least the campaigners around my area will be able to turn the 2 MK seats red but the cherry on the cake will be unseating Steve Baker from Wycombe. They’re all within reach and a hard push is required tomorrow.

I feel like this is a Kevin Keegan moment but I would fecking love to be in the room when BoJo gets the results :D
Gonna admit you were wrong?

Well done he’s 13
I don't vote. Do you really think Tories get the bus?
I get the bus, the buses are shit, when they do turn up they are always jam packed. I don't want them to be even worse. That's the logic.
Do you get the bus?
“Do you really think Tories get the bus?” They’re not fecking aristocrats. Of course they get the bus.
Seems you have a rather trouble free life if your only problem is busy buses. Thank feck Johnson won in that case

Are you really dense enough to think those buses would be even more rammed?

Do you honestly think under 25's avoid them now?
If you use public transport to get to work you have a choice between metrolink and bus.
What happens if one of the choices becomes FREE?
Are YOU really that dense that you need it explained to you?

Jeremy Corbyn was a good back bench MP - I assume he has never held a cabinet or shadow cabinet post before heading up the Labour Party? A leader he is not, and never has been.

Labour are too influenced by the unions and momentum. Union influence was also the reason the wrong Miliband led the party.
Agree with all of this. He is a maverick rebel and new ideas guy. Such people are very important in leadership teams but as a senior member and not as the leader. Because by definition, some of their many ideas will be highly polarising, and they are not in an objective position to see that themselves.

As for your 2nd point, Labours leadership selection process is deeply flawed. Over the years it has produced the likes of Foot, Kinnock, Miliband Junior and Corbyn, each of which were unelectable from their first day in charge. And yet despite serious opposition from the PLP, all survived and were thrashed in elections.

Labour is way too ideological. Instead of creating a manifesto which is in sync with the context of the country, a plan that a majority of people want, they get stuck in their intellectual narcissism. Many Corbyn fans in this thread have displayed such, no matter that I've grown quite fond of their opinions. We are seeing it even now on Twitter with Momentum saying they will carry on unperturbed.

Unlike the Tories. Lets remember the Cameron government was massively pro Remain as the official party policy. And yet a few years later, they walk into a huge majority by being massively pro Leave. They deliver what majority of people want. Perhaps you will win the ethical debate within your own echo chamber, but the fact remains Labour is impotent and irrelevant, while the Conservatives can now implement as they see fit.

Evidenced by the defeats to Foot, Kinnock and Corbyn, I don't think the UK wants or needs a purely left brand of politics. Labour is now exactly where it was pre Blair. And its requires a reincarnation of this avatar if they are to win again.

Labour have to do a LOT of soul-searching, and learn some humility, to reform and make themselves electable, or they'll be out for another full generation.

I would say yes for the laugh of watching you go on, but I'm bored of you and your utter daft nonsense already.

In fact, I'm in the wrong here for even engaging someone like you. Enjoy your already rammed buses.

What did he say? Was watching itv coverage.
He ripped him apart trying to defend Boris' racist remarks.

Gave a very emotive and passionate speech on what it’s like for him as a Muslim living in Boris’s Britain.

Stanley didn’t take it well, slurred about his grandfather being able to read the Quran before being stoned to death for being friends with the Armenians.

Speak to the people who work for the NHS mate.
Than why has the majority rejected that opinion? The message was put out there in stereo, and the poorest have ignored the message. Tell's me perhaps its not as bad as its being made out to be. (BTW I voted Labour).

As I said our health service is already one of the very best in the world. And that context is deliberately lost when politicians engage in hyperbole to win votes.

Honest question, do you think they will? Because they don't seem interested and haven't since the last few loses. I worry about that.

You are suggesting that other parties should feck off because people choose to vote for them rather than the party you want. Not a very democratic stance that now is it?
So the point i was getting at in a roundabout way is that moderates and the left divide themselves while the right stick together when push comes to shove, its a huge problem politically that parallels in the united states with regards to republicans vs democrats.

Id love to see data on lib dems and greens on who they would prefer between labour or the tory's. my bet would be they have more in common with the left than the right and in that regard their votes do nothing but hand constituances to the tories.
the attempt at tactical voting gave 1 seat to the lib dems and surrendered dozens to the conservatives by slim margins.

Which 'others' are you talking about?

The centre is dead. This idea that if the Labour party stayed/moved back to the centre they would see electoral success is a canard. It doesn't matter how hard you wish it will happen, there is no return to pre-15 politics. Brexit, Trump and global Trumpism is the new normal and we need to adapt to that.

What the first few results seem to show is that in a Brexit election, Labour haven't done enough to get their message out to their 'heartland'. A movement like Momentum has done some brilliant things, but it's membership is primarily young working class people from big cities. Vote Leave seem to have been more successful in channeling small town dissatisfaction, and Labour haven't been able to cut through to Brexit voters in the same way.
  zealots with their head in the sand.

Stanley has lost most of his marbles. Pretty cruel to put him in front of such a hostile audience at the mercy of such a hysterical failed comedian.

Have nish and frankie boyle ever shared a stage? Might give him a heart attack.

What this seems to demonstrate to me above all else is that you feck with UK democracy at your peril. In 2016 the country voted to leave the EU. Margin is/was immaterial as all of us and our forebears grew up with first past the post system which we abide by. Now after 3 years of indecision it looks like the country has agreed with Johnson and said 'Get Brexit done' They appear to have totally rejected the Lib Dem view of automatically rejecting A50 and the Labour stance of putting a second referendum to the people.

Mind you at a purely personal level momentum can shove itself up its own rectum. Hard left will never succeed. Socialism will. But constantly calling all those who disagree racist or cnuts will never win any sort of popularity contest.

The pound is up across the board. 12 month high against the US dollar.
Obviously that would be the case. His economic and tax policy was fecking insane. His plan to increase taxes on investor gains from a rate of 10% with Entrepreneurs Relief to 50% whilst also increasing bank Levy essentially would have stopped small companies getting access to loans/investment to grow, madness.

Labour has been taken over by self-righteous pricks who think they know better than everyone else. It's not a very attractive proposition and part of the reason they are getting destroyed.

Jesus fecking christ, how many times?! Labour is a 65%+ Remain supporting party. How the feck would them supporting leave have handed them a win? Even in many of those labour leave constituencies a majority of Labour voters were remain.
I am not remotely convinced supporting leave would have handed them a win... I never claimed that... but you have to be pretty ignorant to not see that Labour have lost traditional Labour seats in constituencies that voted leave.

You just seem to think they could win those leave voters over despite offering a second referendum whereas I think the issue has become too tribal and entrenched. I don’t believe any party seen as being on the remain side could win the election under these circumstances. Like I said... 270 constituencies voted leave and most Brexiteers tend to have strong feelings about how they voted.

Ah shit we drink the same thing, now we're technically married under Caf Law. But it also means I get half your stuff in the inevitable divorce, so that's good.
Now we are married, I assume we will have to argue even more, but without the sex...

Ultimately we all have to work with and have neighbours who think differently and vote differently to ourselves. Goodness knows when, but hopefully we can become a lot more civil to each other! Until then...

I was put in hold for 4mins for a 999 call when my son passed out after coughing up a load of blood a couple of months back. We waited in hospital for 2 days, the first 6 just for a bed, and even then the discharge took 5 hours due to lack of staff. I don't live in a poor area either.

The staff were great, but that was a disgrace. Let's not confuse the great people who work in the NHS going above and beyond with it being well funded and everyone happy.

I could go on as I have 12 family and friends who work in all aspects of the NHS, it's not a disaster as made out, but it's not good at all either.

People can switch parties. If Labour provided policies that some of these Lib Dems and Greens could fully back then they could join Labour.

You're completely right; we have Conservatives and then Others. Even when the Tories rebel and we get UKIP they eventually float back. Labour have alienated too many people in their party and it's costing them. If it was the right decision then the polls would show that, but it's not. People aren't ready for Momentum's vision just yet.
