It’s never the right time to buy according to Woodward. Every reasonable fan could tell you we needed more reinforcements back in August, here is a chance to correct that mistake and maybe give us a chance for a top 4 finish. What we do? Nothing we will prepare to pay 100m for the same guy in the summer.

Makes you wonder what’s the point in the Club employing scouts, if we really have any scouts.

I'm guessing Ole and Ed thought everyone would be fit for the entire season, then we wouldnt need any new players.

I know an ITK. He said to me our scouts are actually very good, finding many of the players that have recently received high fees (de Jong, de Ligt). The issue is the non footballing board refusing to spend a few million on them as we have our own youth players who are ‘just as good’.

Madness.

People blame Woody but i can't see a scenario where he can't have asked Ole if he can survive with letting Herrera go and no new midfielders. Ole will have misjudged his players.

This January though there's no excuses for either as the issues are crystal clear. Hopefully Ole doesn't think it'll be a good excuse for underperforming and instead realises he'll be sacked.

I should laugh at this because of course you know an ITK, but the board believing its own hype of our youth players sounds quite believable, you see it enough on here, it's as if the club and a large amount of fans are brainwashed with the idea that every kid we have is going to be a superstar, when the reality is barely any of them make it to anywhere close to that level.

For example people who most likely had never really even seen Chong were certain we didn't need anymore attackers for our wings because we had him, it's laughable.

The Glazers must love it, because even if they're saving only a bit of money, they're still saving money.

What do people think of this? I'm tempted to say "would be an improvement on Mata and Lingard" but in all honesty i think most kids in the park would be too some days. Has he recovered and discovered form after his illness?

Everyone would be fit for an entire season? Not sure how to break this to you but that hardly ever happens. Add to that, half of your midfielders are not very committed to the cause and you get Manchester United under Ole and Woodward the prick.

What happened to this guy? He looked like someone we should be looking at previously.

Well if they’re open to getting rid, that tells you what’s happened.

I thought he was class but maybe a change of scenery is what he needs

The Ac Milan side is a mess. They have BORINI as one of most stable performers past 2 seasons, they have a lot good players but haven't had a proper manager to sort it out.

After a strong honeymoon period for Ac his form started to drop quite drastically. Gattuso was putting him in and taking him out quite consistently.
He could never recover his form after that.

One of the main criticisms of his performances was his lack of progress in his all-round game. Put the ball in the box and he'll create a head-start over the defence but apart from that he was seen as lacking other fundamentals of a good forward.

Ac got a Chicarito type forward but wanted a player who would develop his game more in the mould of their bitter rivals counterpart Icardi, now onloan at PSG.

Thanks for all the responses.

Could be a good poacher for us at that price, but we would need a creative mid as well to make it worth it.

It is. Came home from work hoping to read some interesting transfer news only to find most of it about players I've never heard of going to clubs I've never heard of. Had enough so I hit the ignore button

Almost everything in this thread ultimately turns out to be rubbish. The fact that some of it is also lower league rubbish, surely doesn't make much difference.

Is there a reason that there isn’t a separate part of the forum for league 1 and 2 stuff? Surely it’s just clogging up the thread with posts the majority aren’t interested in?
it’s not a moan as such, I just find I don’t come here much anymore because I’m not interested in who Colchester have their eye on... it’s a Manchester United forum ffs
