no tweets yet about the Tevez loan claims?

36 years old nearly and scored 5 goals last season and 3 this season - exactly what we need.

You can't get decent players in January though!! Very frustrating we aren't signing someone like him.
Well, Leipzig are challenging for the title and are in the CL. And will be there for the foreseeable future.

Improving coaching is not 'papering over the cracks'.

Honestly your post reeks of bitterness that Ole pays the price whilst those above don't. Perhaps understandable but you certainly shouldn't keep a manager on the grounds of 'well everyone's to blame'. He's judged on his performance, factoring in all the constraints.
You lot never learn that's why. We need a new start from top to bottom. Changing managers is only going to take the heat off Woodward and co. Yes you might see slightly better coaching and a slight improvement in results. So what. I don't want slight. I want us to be great again. Won't happen until the parasites have gone. No more league titles at this club ever until they go. Ever.

But they're not going anywhere? What don't you understand about that. Keeping Ole and being shit isn't going to make them leave, they'll go when they want to.

No it isn't, with every manager sacking the heat on Woodward especially ramps up, hence why he has to brief rubbish about a DOF when he sacked Jose

feck this club ownership, they're determined to achieve bottom half this year and they're well on their way.
Oh lets just throw even more money at it and see what happens eh?

I can see it now.

Buys Cavani, gives him what he wants

Strong chance of another Sanchez situation - another player on massive wages alienating rest of squad and probably won't live up to expectations due to injuries or whatever. Sensible to stay clear, even with our forward problems.

Same. Or we're seriously holding back on spending for some reason, be it manager change or ownership. There's something seriously fishy going on I think. This is all looking very suspect.
It makes no sense to not sign anyone becase they are hoping to sell the club. Even in the state its in it would still go for like 2 billion at the lowest and all the debt is owned by the club so its basically free money for the glazers and any signings won;t be from their own pockets anyway.

I think anyone hoping for us to be bought out, especially if they want it to be someone other than the Saudis, are sorely mistaken.

If we're looking for a decent-ish, experienced striker to get us through until Rashford comes back that won't cost a premium then there's not exactly a lot of options out there. I dunno, maybe Graziano Pelle might be able to do a job, if he wants a chance to play for a big club and would therefore be prepared to significantly lower his wages.

I'm only half joking.

You have no idea about that. There has been lots of talk about a possible sale to the Saudis. They might feel like the value of the club has peaked.

I get where you are trying to go with this point. The flip flopping on here is massive but if you think we dont need reinforcements then you need to give your head a wobble.

Eh?!

I didn’t say that, we need reinforcements and we need reinforcements this month but at the same time don’t go throwing cash around like it’s candy, it’s got us nowhere the past 7years and now even in our somewhat desperate state, it’s even more important to not get someone in who just wants a PHAT pay check

I'm not talking about Cavani, I'm talking about Bruno, Dani Olmo, Piantek and few others that could be brought in to help this season.

The dramatic way you responded to the other post made me think that way, my apologies. Agree with you we need clever investment unfortunately mr Woodward has no idea how to deal with the football side of things.

AS: "...The transfer figure is believed to be around 30 million euros and also includes a series of add-ons that could reach €45m. The player will sign for the remainder of the season and five more campaigns..."
Wow, great signing. If there was one thing missing from their squad it was a creative central midfielder. They have quite a lot of workhorse midfielders in Laimer, Kampl, Adams and Haidara but none of them are creative, they rely on their wingers for creating plays more.

Not sure how he would fit in their current 4-2-2-2 formation but would surely give him variation in moving to other systems with an attacking midfielder.

Would you prefer to sign nobody? I don't think a mid-table finish is much of a stretch at the moment. It's probably more likely than not.

We either bring players in or accept the current mediocrity. I'd rather see the club at least try to compete for a place in Europe next season.

what we need is a rumor this window about trying to bring an old vet out of retirement that either played for us, or we chased in a previous window. De Rossi, Sneijder, etc. Peak nonsense.

edit: forgot we already sort of got the former with the Tevez rumor.
