That can't be true. We've just signed Odion fecking Ighalo, a Watford reject. Truly desperate times.

If true, i dont like option to buy part, just because it gives us an option to make another mistake, we shouldnt get him on perma deal even if he scores 30.
If he scores 30 in half a season he shouldn't be bought? Jesus wept! What reality do these posters live in?

Watch us sign him then infect the entire squad with coronavirus, it’ll be like the 80’s all over again with Whiteside and McGrath on the piss but with limes.

Insane. Signing a striker from goddamned Chinese league. That's where players retire. Has anybody ever signed a 30-year-old from China into EPL? We let Lukaku go for THIS? I just can't wrap my mind around how crazy this feels. It will take him a whole season to get in form for EPL level, coming from China. What is the fecking point for this loan?
We're signing a player who can play in the PL and has done well here before, in a position we're severely lacking bodies in? The whole deal is costing £5m in total for 6 months. Why is this a bad deal? Because he plays in China? Atletico Madrid just loaned Carassco back from China for 6 months too, guess they're also desperate?

Inter and Tottenham wanted him on loan but he chose United, are you aware of that?

How do you think this will impact Greenwood and Martial, now that they know there's a mature pro around the place that's there to lighten their goal burden?

Try not to be outraged about everything, you'll feel a whole lot better.

Well, alright then. Despite my earlier comments, now that he´ll be wearing red, I´ll give him my full support and a real chance to prove his worth. We desperately needed a back-up striker, and I´m just relieved we got one.

We missed out on signing him in 2015 and missed out on top 4, hopefully this time he helps us finish top 4.

Absolute joke of a signing. Of all the strikers around the world, we've gone for Ighalo. How the money grabbing mercenaries have landed on their feet in this world eh? Feck off to China and still get a big break . Feck me
 do you want a bag to breathe into?

We’ve signed him on loan. It’s risk free.

Also, he was decent at Watford and they got £20m for him, hardly a reject

That escalated quicker than an argument with Billy Blaggs.

Two in is better than one. Here's hoping he can come in and do a good job. Welcome Ighalo!

Inter, Barcelona and Tottenham must be equally as clueless and deluded as we are. :nervous: or maybe, football clubs know more than random guy on Internet

pretty happy with that. Short-time help, takes pressure off Greenwood and should be a good option from the bench. I'll take that over an overpriced King deal any day.

I’m finding it hard to get my head around this. The only real positive is I think he is a massive Man Utd fan and he will give his all for the club.

Serious question.
If/when he signs, will he need to stay in quarantine for 14 days since he’s arriving from China?
I saw @Damien said something about it, but it’s hard keeping up with whats true and whats banter regarding the corona virus.
There are over 100 confirmed cases there, and it is only 4 hours away from Wuhan via train so I think he may need to be but am probably wrong.

Jesus, calm down. It’s a cheap loan deal and the Chinese league has several very good players. Barcelona signed a 29 year old Paulinho from there and he did great for Barca.

We definitely needed a striker after Rashford got injured but I'm really sceptical whether Ighalo is the answer. I've not seen any of his games after he left Watford but looking at his clips in China he looks really poor. Looks like he lost some pace and technically he looks lacking.

Can we send him to train with the scousers first, just in case he does have the virus?

No, because he's not coming from Wuhan (or Hubei province in general). There's no restrictions on other flights out of China (e.g. from Beijing, Shanghai, etc.), except that quite a few airlines have cancelled flights because of the massive and understandable reduction in demand due to people cancelling their trips. One of my friends flew back from Beijing to the UK yesterday without any hassle other than a few extra temperature checks for fever.

Why are people crying about a loan to address our injury issues?
