He's a squad player who's being played way more minutes than he should be because he turned out to be a better option than some of the first teamers.

Can't believe people are complaining about him.

He’ll be a lot more effective for us next season- as a squad player. He’s been a good punt and it does clearly show our scouts aren’t ignoring the championship. I’d much rather him than someone like depay who came here like a rock star and produced pretty much nothing.

What a selfish little prick. So lucky not costing the team today many times being that greedy. Should have been left out of the team for next month or so.

James was crucial to the win. Gave them problems all day long and gave us an outlet when we were struggling to get out.

Generally he played really well, just had a few big terrible decisions.

The abuse aimed at him is pathetic.

Yes, but if he plays bruno in there its likely a comfortable victory. Same as tony

I don't like people abusing him but let's be real here, he is probably our worst player since Bebe. We paid £15m for him? That's about £12m too much. He is just very bad at playing football.

But those "few big decisions" matter though. Wouldn't claim that he played really well.

He did well overall. He was a constant problem for them. Once he learns to make better decisions he will be a very good player for us. I'd still beat him with a sock full of onions for not pulling it back for Bruno though. Him and Martial.

Fantastic performance, never stopped, the negativity towards him is bizarre. I’d take him over Alexis or AdM any day.

He wasn't. We didn't effectively won anything after his play, he just ruined every counterattack.

We won the game by defending well and after Bruno's and Martial's nice play.

That’s just stupid

Did you see me say they don’t?

He was a constant source of problems for them and a very good outlet for us, and held the ball up well.

Him and Martial should have laid off those chances to Bruno.

Other than that he was brilliant. Him, Martial and Fred

Played very well and was great to see him take on defenders. Final product could have been better.

We wouldn’t have won today’s game without that “selfish little prick”.

If he doesn’t make the run in the first place there’s nobody to put through. Poor decision making but given we won the game and he was a big part of it he kind of earned the benefit of the doubt today.

End product and decision making was poor. Hardly surprising for a young player though. Aside from that he was quality, created a lot of great moments in attack, tracked back and was still sprinting until the final whistle.

A few times where his decision making could've been better and hopefully that will come. Well played though

Feck all the people giving him stick. Bellends

You’re talking shite I’m afraid. There’s a reason he was left on and it was because he stretched their defence and gave us a way out from defending.

Why would you say that he played really well if you acknowledge those few big terrible decisions? I thought he was just decent, nothing more.

We would. He did nothing except run with the ball and make selfish decision which didn't result in single chance. We won the game because Martial was great and team played really well.

Because a 90 minute performance isn’t defined in its entirety by a collective 15 seconds or so? What a bizarre comment.

Definitely needs to look up and pass it back into the middle at times. Obviously, we all saw it.

Despite those poor decisions, he was very good today. Pressing, making runs, getting stuck in, providing an outlet. He did everything. His mistakes didn't cost us, let's focus on the positives of his performances

His pace was important to allow us execute the game plan.

I'm sure Ole and his coaching team will have a word with his decision making today, was shocking to say the least.

Great seeing Ole was really pissed off after one of his selfish decisions

Pretty sure Otamendi was cutting off the lane for the cutback to Fernandes, either way people need to relax with the abuse, he did well overall.

I was glad he was left on the pitch when Ighalo was coming on, as his pace was a real outlet towards the end, but for all that, he really needs to do more with the ball.
