Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
There'll be a chapter about this on wikipedia.
No... in the future all Wikipedia entries will be written on toilet paper.

People, or 'herds' as they will then be known, will race through the ruined, desolate streets in battered old shopping trolleys screeching 'Happy Birthday' (twice) and hunting for old people to 'economize' from society.

Burnt out, semi-looted shopfronts will have TV sets still looping Liverpool's title celebration from an empty Anfield...

And atop a great throne in the ruins of what was Buckingham Palace will sit King Jacob Rees-Mogg, grinning psychotically, and quietly repeating 'yessss, yessss' to himself as a stack of CCTV screens in front of him flicker images of this brave, new Britain.

From @Cardboard elk a norwegian newbie :
China has had around 90,000 cases 3000+ deaths from 1.45 billion people. Why are people thinking its going to infect 60-70% of the worlds population? That would be around 90% of everyone else who is not in china. What evidence is there for this assumption?

I am surprised people aren't using the data of China for predicting likely effects elsewhere as they are 1-2 months ahead of everyone else. They are also the worst place affected in terms of growth rate, raw numbers etc never mind the fact that we have all be forewarned by them so if anything I would expect every other countries to fair better. What am I missing here?

Interesting but I don't know how reliable that source is - it's from a Norweigan red top tabloid with a contraversial history.

I feel it would be a lot like believing a story from the Daily Mail.

I'm not saying those facts are wrong, but I'd like to hear it from a better source.

Forget toilet roll and food. Why on earth are people hoarding women's sanitary products and baby nappies. That is so selfish and despicable.

It would seem she's not conclusively sure

I'm assuming it's women and parents doing it, well I hope so anyway. We are due to run out of baby food this week so I'll be ready to fight any fecker that isn't a parent for that if it comes to it.

Interesting. I could swear I read a few weeks ago somewhere that we shouldn't be worried about airborne spreads. Now this professor claims we can't rule it out.

Just shows how little we still know.

Contrast, Tel Aviv tonight:

Dublin tonight:

In cork the biggest pub and clubs closed up a few days ago, the rest are slowly following, with the corks second biggest chain closing up after tonight, it’s pretty bad PR to still be open even Micheal Martin has tweeted on it.

This whole thing is beginning to freak me out. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes only 4 months ago. If I get it I'm fecked.

I'm more worried about my elderly parents though. What a worrying time.

How many people who aren't parents buy baby food?

Yeah, lot of people angry about Temple Bar tonight. In fairness loads of other Dublin pubs have closed.

Hello mate, whilst diabetics have an elevated relative risk, I think I remember reading that it's still low overall providing you're less than 60 years old and in otherwise fair health.

Don't quote me on that! I'll try to find the article. They key thing is - try not to panic, and do everything in your power not to catch this bastard disease. If somebody in your house gets it, isolate them and steer well clear!

This Herd immunity approach doesn't sound very feasible.
Herd immunity requires 90% of the herd to have antibodies and the only way to have antibody right now is to get infected by the virus

Even with just 60%, lot of people will die before UK reach that number. Seems like EU learnt nothing from China & Korea

Do you think non parents will buy it? I bet they would, just so they could get their hands on something and say they were apart of it.

Sorry to say but it seems as if a lot of people aren't panic buying, they're just hoarding because they're getting a thrill out of this drama.

It’s also not clear at this point if the virus stays but is just inactive or if previously positive people can just randomly catch it again.

That’s my worry. The post a few pages back about the woman in tears who couldn’t get maternity pads really hit home. I really feel for mother’s of young and those expecting at the moment. My wife is shitting herself over all this.

Given the UK's plan is to reach "herd immunity" what exactly are they doing differently to other countries to facilitate this?

It feels more like a prediction/hope about how it'll play out.

If "the plan" is to somehow manage the numbers by turning certain taps on and off then we need to be testing people like mofo's for it to work right? But if that isn't what we're doing then what are we doing?
