See nobody cares discussing ScandinaviaSo is it only the Swedish in Europe left following a very different path, or are they thinking again?
He’s also said that kids are immuneJust saw that Elon Musk has manufactured/delivered 1000 ventilators to the Californian health system - fair play that man.
I'm hardly an expert on this but here's how I see it. Even with a perfect (i.e. zero new infections) lockdown/quarantine you're basically just delaying the inevitable and the virus will spread again once these restrictions are lifted leaving you with the same problem as before. Unless you're holding out for a vaccine but I think we all agree that locking everyone down for 12 to 18 months is not an option. Doing nothing is clearly the worst option (see Italy) so there has to be another way. I guess in an ideal world, you would completely isolate the high-risk groups while letting life continue normally for everyone else. But obviously, this is almost impossible to do as it assumes everyone behaves perfectly. Just thought it was interesting that is all coming from virologists (so not politicians or economists). There have been quite a few of them writing op-eds and giving interviews in German media.Interesting, I think I worded my post badly to be honest, I meant that as in the initial strategy which seemed to be, just let it spread with 0 worries.
I was under the impression regarding herd immunity, that you need a vaccine for it to be effective?
Maybe with that in mind we are achieving a strong middle ground.
" I dont care because I've lived my life" selfish cnut.
Black cabs have the plexi glass. Sit on the opposite side to the driver. Wear gloves and mask. Cabbie wipes down after.Sorry but that’s a ridiculous suggestion. There is zero infection control methods with cabs and an extreme high risk of passing the virus on.
The answer is to address with more capacity on the tube to encourage distancing or to push all non-key workers to stay at home.
Might be alone in thinking there has been a massive cover-up in the numbers that have died.
That was never the plan though.Interesting, I think I worded my post badly to be honest, I meant that as in the initial strategy which seemed to be, just let it spread with 0 worries.
Stay safeFirst it was corona, then we got hit by earthquake and now it's been snowing last 2 days with really cold weather outside.
Can't make this shit up.
I had a proper losing-my-faith-in-humanity moment while listening to that. What world are we trying to save here, with people as selfish and stupid as that in it, ruining it for everyone else? The interviewer just couldn't deal with it anymore and I fully understand.
Because people will have to either lie about symptoms or ignore them entirely if it means they won't get paid. While it will impact me massively I don't have any dependants and could just curb unnecessary spending while I ride it out. But if I had kids I imagine I may think differently about enforced isolation. I don't agree with those who are ignoring guidelines but also do empathise with their situations.I don't understand why it's a catch 22. You simply must self isolate if you're unwell. If people don't have the moral compass to do that then they are killing others. In your situation you are looking after the children of key workers or those with special needs. So going against that is basically infecting the vital key work needed to run the country.
If heart inflammation is a risk, why are there anti-anti-inflammatory stories on the net? Why are anti-inflammatories so bad and is it a fact that one shouldn't use these? Not to mention the kidney damage and heart inflammation, both key risk factors for this particular virus.
@Regulus Arcturus Black marathons are really not very good for you.
a) surely. Unless the bus is half empty. So I'm in two minds what to do. My gf is at work, because it's a bodyshop that deals with NHS staff it's allowed to stay open. It's only a short way away but is a bus ride.
Do I: a) drive and pick her up later b) stay at home and let her get the bus.
Surely a is the best option for her and others on public transport, however I don't want to be like everyone else and break the 'lockdown' (there's still plenty of traffic/people walking up and down my road ). I'm not worried about the police, as there's none about anyway plus she works right next to a Tescos, but I want to do the right thing when I can.
Common sense was telling us to start social distancing weeks ago... but affluent and like minded folk were stilling ramming out the pubs for their usual sunday roast up until the govt had to shut them down.As is the attitude of 'well its up to the government to tell me what to do'. No it's fecking not. Use your common sense and stop going out. Until that realisation comes from the general population the virus won't get under control, the police can't possibly keep everybody at home all of the time.
If you're staying in your car and you're sharing a household with this girlfriend then i dont see how you're breaking any lockdown. There's no risk of contact. So I'm in two minds what to do. My gf is at work, because it's a bodyshop that deals with NHS staff it's allowed to stay open. It's only a short way away but is a bus ride.

The fact that they already target a lift of measures after 2 months, could be ‘light at the end of the tunnel’, something to be optimistic about. However it could also be a recipe for disaster. Time will tell.Might be alone in thinking there has been a massive cover-up in the numbers that have died.
We're talking about different things here. Running marathons has been shown to damage the heart and coronary arteries. Any kind of heart problems are a significant risk factor for this virus. If heart inflammation is a risk, why are there anti-anti-inflammatory stories on the net? Why are anti-inflammatories so bad and is it a fact that one shouldn't use these?
China are definitely not communist. Authoritarian yes but they haven't been communist for a long, long time.A communist country covering information and doing propaganda for its own intrest.. wouldnt be the first nor the last communist country to do that. No country has ever been truly communist, despite the names of the respective political parties. If you look closely at their statements , it always was "Living in socialism and building the communism".China are definitely not communist. Authoritarian yes but they haven't been communist for a long, long time.
There was, probably hundreds of thousands according to off-record reports from news reporters. They bloody dragged thousands of people into shady vans to take them who knows where and they even sealed doors and windows during weeks.Might be alone in thinking there has been a massive cover-up in the numbers that have died.
Go and get her. You've got to think of the intent behind these measures, and in that case going to get her is the best thing to do.So I'm in two minds what to do. My gf is at work, because it's a bodyshop that deals with NHS staff it's allowed to stay open. It's only a short way away but is a bus ride.

Cabbie won't wipe down after, any public transportation method needs deep cleaning. It's not a safer way than public transportation, the problem with the overcrowding on the tube is around the number of carriages they're putting on, and non-essential workers using it. Address that and we solve the problem, without any requirement to risk taxi's and workers.Black cabs have the plexi glass. Sit on the opposite side to the driver. Wear gloves and mask. Cabbie wipes down after.
Much safer than the tube
A body shop that deals with NHS staff? Such a loose reason to stay open! Difficult scenario. So I'm in two minds what to do. My gf is at work, because it's a bodyshop that deals with NHS staff it's allowed to stay open. It's only a short way away but is a bus ride.
Did they mention zero hour workers?Just announced in the House of Commons, the Chancellor is working on a self employed solution, the difficulty of distinguishing tax returns (sometimes a year and a half old) between those out of work now and those who are finding more work is proving the difficulty on an accurate number.
Agree with this. The danger of the virus lies not in it's potency, but it's spreadibility. A long surface life coupled with asymptomatic transmission is just a rather fecked up combination to deal with. The big problem with COVID and is making ignorant politicians to make themselves look like fools in the initial stages of the disease is that Covid fatality rate worldwide is lower than seasonal flue overall (60 to 86% of infected people don't even get into the system) if you look at stats and they think they can keep the infection numbers low.
The first problem is that biologist affirm that this virus has been in Europe for months, but under the radar. In PT this thing happened during a Bird Flue outbreak in some parts of the country, and Bulgaria was also with a seasonal flue problem and this was happening all over Europe, so they think much probably a lot of those people were in reality affected by this virus, that's why the patient zero in Italy revealed not to be the "real" patient zero .
Problem is is that the infection rate is something never seen before. It is so infectious that it is estimated that more than 60% of infected people are not even into the system. This virus is beating every healthcare system by quantity numbers, so having a small % of fatalities doesn't really matter, because a small percentage of a huge population will overload any system in the world.

Yes, they are included in the furlough scheme but it is down to the employer to declare them on that status.Did they mention zero hour workers?
They don't give a shit probably because they have the highest level of private health insurance. Guaranteed a top class doctor and a ventilator if they need one. Selfish cnuts.Common sense was telling us to start social distancing weeks ago... but affluent and like minded folk were stilling ramming out the pubs for their usual sunday roast up until the govt had to shut them down.
