Looking for the answers...
My wife has another Covid patient. Mid 40s, highly active, no previous health issues... he's on a ventilator. They've already turned an entire small hospital into a Covid ward and now they're turning every room in her ICU and every room in the Medical-Surgical wing next to it into negative pressure rooms. They're down to their last 4 ventilators in the whole hospital.

The last thing she text me was "I'm legitimately scared".

This is a woman who has worked in trauma and ICU wards her entire career. She's seen shit. If she's scared, then it's bad.
Posts like this put the fear of god in me. I really do worry just how bad this is going to get.

Feck. Really hoping your wife stays safe and gets through this without catching the thing. Stay strong man.

They received an email last night telling them to conserve PPE and to reuse or not wear proper equipment when treating patients who have something other than Covid-19... So nurses and doctors that are treating patients that don't have it are still going to be at risk of contracting something else and bringing it home.

How is it where you are? You'll be okay mate. Vent on here.
Same shit as in Europe but just worse in every aspect, supposed lockdown and distancing not respected. For some I just don't get it but for others (the less fortunate, the poorest) there is just no way to distance from one another. The majority of the country is made of small houses with people living in close quarters with their elders. I'm not the type to vent and I apologize if that's how it appeared, I'm mentally preparing for a nightmare is all.
I'm not even gonna mention the NHS here, it's just crazy.

He's been told he can shop once a day, that's government guidelines. I pulled up on the car park of my local Asda and gave up when I saw the length of the queues.
No it isn't. I think people are confusing it with the exercise exception:

The advice is to go as infrequently as possible. If yer fella is just buying one pizza at a time then he isn't following the guidance.

1. Staying at home
You should only leave the house for very limited purposes:

  • shopping for basic necessities, for example food and medicine, which must be as infrequent as possible.

That's absolutely fecking appalling to be honest with you. All this whilst the 'defence budget' is through the fecking roof.

Very distressing video but captures the situation in Spain and perhaps your country soon.

Sedating people over 65 to die and use respirators for younger people.

This is my worry for my mum, you know you can't be there on the ward and many will be left to die as there just isn't the number of staff or equipment in nearly all countries.
Shit that sounds bad. Is it legit?

Very likely that the Belgian lockdown will be extended until 3 May - announcement imminent apparently.

The parties once this will all be over are going to be ridiculous. Not sure that's a good thing.
As if there wasn’t enough divisiveness already. Granted being in the U.S. and no longer being required to vote in the Belgian elections, I do not follow Belgian politics aside from an occasional glance at some of the insanity.

It's crazy man. I'll hand it to my wife though... she got up and went right into work today, no questions asked. I respect her more than I can put into words.

Yeah of course but if today is anything to go by then we'd be doing nothing but that all day and there's far too many other things going on to dedicate everything to it. Today for instance a colleague suffered a compound fracture to his arm as someone resisted arrest for another matter and another customer was arrested and charged for assaulting an emergency worker by coughing in their face and telling the officer they were carrying the virus. That's in one small part of the city for a few hours.
Seriously WTF ? Not sure how you all hold your nerve in situations like this.

China closed its borders now, probably only country in the world that can sustain itself without the need from outside as well. Can they overtake U.S. by the time the dust settles? Ironically, at the beginning of the outbreak, Chinese diplomats have been lobbying western governments not to close them off during the pandemic and only country that stopped direct flights to/from China was Italy...

Was at Marks and Spencer’s just now, queues right round the corner 2m apart everyone pissed off waiting and this grade A prick comes walking out the shop with one pizza, just one!

I mean if you’re going to go shopping get at least a weeks groceries a once..
A girl in front of me queued up at Tesco for 45 minutes to buy one item. Then there were couples (some 65+) shopping together and people with teenagers who should a)Be doing schoolwork and b)old enough not needing to go to the shop with mummy. People are brainless.

Real scary thought, not like you can just train up doctors at the drop of a hat.
Cumulatively you have at least 500 years of medical training. That's a stupid point that I just made but still.

I noticed that too mother’s and daughters taking up two spots and then walking around the store together. Just stay in the car for god’s sake.

Depressing as it is has there been any 'data modelling' that is predicting the end number of deaths in Italy or Spain? Vallance was saying they 20,000 would be a 'good outcome' for Uk a few days back, but I think that might be worst case now.

And the truth comes out. Reckless family spreading bullshit. She died of a heart attack and had clear underlying issues judging by her Facebook.

This was posted earlier. But how's the family to blame if the coroner said she died of Covid 19?
An NHS source said this was unfair. “They have been given the information officially from the coroner that this is [a] Covid death,” they said. “And that’s their understanding of it.” But the source said the coroner’s move “raised eyebrows” at the hospital because she had not tested positive for the disease.

Your wife is a hero mate. I've always had huge respect for medical professionals but it went up a notch.

Glad the truth came out. BBC even reported it but the source was from facebook.

We'll have to see about the Spanish video, there is some talk about it being fake audio recording but we also had a Italian doctor saying the same thing a while back. The situation is probably happening but hopefully it come out whether the account of it false but hospitals and governments aren't going to say it's real either.

I do hope I am wrong but after being stuck in the middle of this for over a month now I have noticed that on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays there are lots more cases reported and a lot more ambulance sirens around. Today they have been fecking non stop.
I posted similar last week. We’re in the uk and live in a small village with a main link road between Swadlincote and Derby. We’ve heard a definite and substantial increase in ambulances. It is very very eerie, we just look at each other ...

They said she had no underlying health issues. She looks anorexic to me for a start.
You are diagnosing her via pictures/facebook?

The article doesn't say she had known underlying conditions. She died of heart-attack but the family were told that she died because of the virus.

OMG I thought Italy were just beginning to see the first merciful signs of decline of this pest of a virus.
Heart goes out to them. No words can describe what they must be going through.
Yes, it doesn’t bare thinking about what their health workers are coping with. There will surely be a psychological aftermath of this when it’s over.

Honestly there's been some proper shit posted in this thread today. People wishing death on others, people pleased about death outcomes. Just feck off world.
