Sir or Ma'am is still used as a polite address within the UK and rest of the world too. It's just good manners really.
If you tried using the Icelandic equivalent of sir or ma'am in Iceland people would just look at you funny and think you were trying to be an asshole.

We’re living in a post truth world, the reality doesn’t matter any more, he’s made a claim and to his audience that’s that.

On a letter sure, but in person I don’t think I’ve called anyone Sir unironically since I was in school.
So when you’re speaking to a man whose name you don’t know, how to you address them?

My brain can't get pregnant!
I call the majority of my male customers Sir until I am corrected or offered a first name to address them by.

I would say when I visit most shops, pubs, restaurants etc I get the same in return. So it is most definitely commonplace. However some places, especially with younger staff 30's or below often say mate, which makes me cringe, and only use if I know the person I'm speaking to.

As mentioned above. Sir is just being polite and showing good manners.

Back on topic.....

Of course it's the Democrats fault. It always is, isn't it?

Hi? Hello maybe if I'm feeling particularly formal?
Hm, fair enough. Must be a cultural thing then. Where I am (Trinidad) it’s fairly common to refer to someone you don’t know by sir or ma’am. In addition, in the hospital when I’m speaking to relatives I always use those titles, and with patients as well when I can’t remember their names.

Might be something that comes along in your line of work as well. A lot of countries I’ve visited, in restaurants and such they usually call me ‘sir’.

She’s right. Unfortunately.

The whole system is fcuked. But the least damaging way through this whole thing would be to pander to Trump.
That's how that prick got to where he is, nobody calling him out and "pandering". Why the feck should we? feck him and his administration. People need to tie that fat cnut in to knots in his own head. Pander to a man that peddles dangerous drugs and suggests injecting bleach, feck that pal.

Agreed. Don't pander to him, watch him do some vindictive shit and then hang him by it publicly in the media. The coward backs down when he's confronted strongly enough.

He probably thinks that by going to the tanning bed he is negative and that is the reason. At this point the reporters should just ask him to inject himself with bleach and see if that works too.

Old computers? fecking hell.
"These computers have old engines. Gaming engines are quite good but the graphic engines on these computers are old. Lots of blue state workers playing solitaire and not enough doing their jobs because of these old computers. They just can't get their work done because of it.

But, the brains of the computer are just as slow. And the cyber? Very slow cyber because the fake news media are pouring all their false information into the pipes and blocking them up. Big balls of junk clogging up the cyber pipes. And they can't get enough of it so they keep pouring more in.

I offered them new computers but they said 'no'. These were good computers, too, and they still refused them. Said they were no good. But they came out of big servers from the FSB HQ in Moscow. Didn't matter that we gave them the best virus scan and cleanup available; wiped them all down with bleach to clean the germs out of the engines."

I found this funny.

For people who do not know him, he is one of the top AI scientists in the world, and the director of research at Facebook (Facebook has been criticized in this thread for being pro-Trump).
Nice one, though I think this kind of humour will go some way above a certain percentage of the Trump supporters. And seeing them getting agitated is underestimated entertainment.

"I know computers. In fact, people are surprised about how I can understand them. Maybe I should have done computers instead of becoming President. My Grandfather was a computer. Supergenius computer. The first and best computer. He was a computer on the Apollo 1. The Democrats, with their hoax, fake science and news, made it crash. China was also at fault, due to them manufacturing parts in China, maybe we should stop trading with China, maybe. WHO did not warn us about China and the parts being bad, I mean really bad, so I will look into their funding."

"We don't have a civil right to be immortal, it's correct that people at risk die" is my pick.
Sums up so much of US politics.

Also these are mostly white Republicans from southern California, among the richest groups of people on the planet. All the war and the military and everything, it's for them and their lifestyles (the endless line of cars the 5G woman referred to, for example).

Ignore my last post, this just pushed that other tweet right out of the top 5 most pathetic tweets list. This is some primary school shit right here.

I know we say this every time, but it's genuinely incredible how he manages to lower the bar yet again. We must be seeing early signs of dementia here, surely? This is not normal, not even for Donald Trump.
NPD is a serious mental illness. People like that usually:

1. Don't really have true friends
2. Lash out when criticized; even when it's criticism that would help in personal development.
3. Seek to blame everything on someone or some event that makes them look bad.
4. Don't ever apologize
5. Really think in their heart that they're right.

I've always said give me a truly crazy person to deal with rather than a narcissist any day of the week.

I know someone who's a complete narcissist in every sense of the word. He's over 70 and up to this day cannot have a proper relationship with any of his kids. He's always alone and still wonders why no one wants to be around him.

Another thing, look at the number of children in that video? They don't stand a chance.

Ask him would he be willing to test it on his kids or grandchildren. You know the answer will be yes.

He knows more about the Noble price given to the fake media journalists more than any other person on Earth.
Odds on him actually creating an award called the "Noble prize" so he can give it to himself?

Odds that most of his supporters dont even realise its not the real prize if the above occurs?
