Tesla is restarting production today against Alameda County rules. I will be on the line with everyone else. If anyone is arrested, I ask that it only be me.

The replies to that tweet are spectacularly stupid.

I doubt he is on drugs. You see the way he smoked that joint on the first JR podcast? It looked like he was very new, awkward around it.

He's just a very eccentric, innovative and succesful businessman.

I like him.

How can anyone look at his recent activity where is putting people in harms way, throwing around baseless accusations and coming up with idiotic ideas and think “I like him.”
All his recent actions have shown is that if you come from a very wealthy background you are able to make a success of yourself despite your idiotic comments. The idea that the ultra wealthy are some kind of genius level thinkers has been fully ended now that Elon Musk, Alan Sugar and others have got Twitter.

I love the way this guy is triggering people. Let's see if he goes through with his threats, the reactions would be priceless.

And I'm all out of bubblegum.
Another thing I don’t get. The guy is a knobhead, gets called a knobhead and then that is “triggering.”
It's mainly used by people whose poor social skills have affected them negatively. Now they're no longer being ostracized by society for their own behaviour, they're triggering snowflakes. It's a you-problem now, not a me-problem.

There has definitely been a strong reaction from certain groups of people. I'm talking about those particularly involved with the situation and those who might be affected by it, which involves the whole state where the factory is.

If this guy and his company are so meaningless, I don't see why it even deserves to be talked about, just let the authorities deal with the problem. But I'm guessing Tesla isn't some insignificant business and Musk isn't some random stupid CEO.

There’s definitely one or two that go further than this and ‘get triggered’ by every little thing he does.

He at least provides some entertainment. Ya gotta give him that.

He takes a sedative called Ambien that is known to cause strange behaviour. Whether he is abusing it, only he could tell you but there are concerns.

that's so epic
Not exactly epic, but the hysteria and overreaction definitely makes me laugh and look forward to the developments of the situation.

I've also enjoyed your numerous trolling episodes as well, for what it's worth.

Despite his recent mental breakdown, he has managed to make significant contributions (from an entrepreneur point of view) in three totally different fields. There are many people who have done better than him on something, but you would be hard pressed to find some other entrepreneur who have similar contributions in many fields.
Does Elon have any technical input in SpaceX and Tesla. I always thought he was the high level face and funder rather than the brains behind it.

Guys, get back on topic please, I don't want to derail the thread. If you want to insult me, do it like any normal human being and use PMs.

He sold a website. He knows nothing about rockets or cars. The kind of boss the real brains just nod and smile at before doing their own thing.

He might be a cnut that has gotten complete batshit after prolonged drug usage and sleep deprivation but to claim that he doesn't know anything about rockets or cars is a bit much. Unless you are being sarcastic.

I just found out that he actually bought the right to call himself the founder of Tesla from the founders of Tesla.
The guy is a living parody.

He has a decent engineering/coding background. I don’t think that he designs stuff in either of those companies, but it always help to have some background in order to know how feasible are the ideas, and essentially to be in the same wavelength with the engineers.

It's not really much of a criticism though. I doubt Branson is an expert on putting a train together. He doesn't need to be.

Musk is obviously good at putting a successful team together and seeing it through. What he's done with SpaceX is impressive.

May as well stick to shitting on him where there's substance. Not like it isn't in abundance these days.
Some are a bit too obsessed with the hatred though I reckon.

Why would he know anything about cars or rockets? I'm sure he's gathered a surface knowledge, but he's no generational genius. He's a man who sold a website and paid some smart people to do things for him. There's smarts in that, sure, but he's not the brains of anything he runs.

He is not the creator of the technology , but has enough knowledge to make higher level technical decisions about the design.

Do people fawn over Branson as some modern day Da Vinci like Musk fanboys do?
