I agree with you, and think that it be stopped. But it's not, why? Because all the clubs, including us, are in favour of a return. The players for the most part are keeping their head down and doing as they're told.The key point here is that footballers aren't being treated like other workers. They're being rushed back to work earlier than those in similar roles (i.e. roles that are totally nonessential and totally incompatable with social distancing) for financial and political reasons. No amount of increased testing (which itself is problematic and only ever so effective) changes that fact.
And pointing to the amount of money they earn as if that means they should be more willing to risk their health is an utterly braindead response. They're paid to be footballers, that's it. They're not paid to take increased risks in the middle of a pandemic.
When we talk about the PL/FA giving zero fecks about threat to players families - the same could be said for us
