Konate last report to United was in May, Kabak is supposedly Liverpool's target, but they look like not spending much this summer.

Ole still not decided or United simply poking to find the best bargain out of all these CB targets ?
Yeah have only seen Kabak linked to Spurs or Liverpool and pretty obvious which he would choose out of them

So out of the 3 of them both of them were the worst you've seen

If Ole and the coaches think it'll help the balance of the team or they want to try a different system, then their jobs rest of their purchases. Increased competition and more flexability in the squad shouldn't be viewed as a negative.

For myself I want the club to sign Konate, as long as his hip issues are going to be a thing of the past and he's right footed.
Must admit, Blind Rojo was pretty bad - little wonder when the poor bugger couldn’t even see

I think this is the agent playing games to get his client the best possible deal. I think he'll end up at either Everton or Napoli with us signing Malang Sarr.

On a free?
We'd have to give him a decent wage and a signing on fee. But he's a free agent and would be a better signing IMO compared to Ake who we were linked with prior to his move to City.

We should get kabak honestly. Gabriel is not that good on the ball and positionally naive sometimes.
I don't think we want a right footed CB. Maybe Ole doesn't see the need for a right footed CB with Tuanzebe being rated highly

He would be a terrific cheaper option, although I think Arsenal are the ones linked heavily. Not seen any interest from us, would be quite a sneaky coup if we did end up getting him

Lazio seem the most likely as things stand. But from our perspective he would be value for money and he can also operate at LB too. It would also allow us to sign a more dominant CB next season if needs be.

It's also strange that he hasn't come to a agreement with anyone yet.

He was elected by Uefa as the best CB of La Liga. Of course he is not a €25m player
Must've been a close call. I don't see how Diego Carlos is a notch, or 2, above most other good (€30m-rated) CBs United can buy. I can't see why he should be twice the price. For example, he's not a particularly fast player. Doesn't have genuine pace. If we can get Pau Torres or Gabriel for €30m I'm happy. [ To challenge for PL next season United need 5 signings this window: RW, CB, LB, DCM, CAM or CF - which explains why I'm not happy with just 2 or 3 ]

Like someone posted above you've got to make a few signings now and then that aren't getting all the hype. I would worry that Everton rate him, though!
Why is it so hard for fans to spell their own players name?

Yeah, maybe he has a lot of offers on the table or his demands are unreasonable.

Anyway, I won't derail any further!

I do though. Like how some players have goalkeeper faces. You can just feel it.
That’s why Bale didn’t make it as a left-back and why Giggs moved into midfield when he got older. Not sure what’s so hard to understand here.

We all love United
I thought it was the Brazilian CB who used to play for Arsenal few years ago, and thinking why do we want him?

Exactly. Everyone knows scouts mainly look at a players face. That’s why they go to see them live.

Yeah that is my gut feeling on the matter as well but still hoping that I get proved wrong on this one

So how many of the best teams in the world or even teams that have really been successful have had left footed CBs? and while Ole has been at the club Rojo has been fit on occasions but I do not recall him being played there.
The two best footballers I have ever seen are left footed so I am not anti left (not football anyway) but LVG is the only manager I have heard off that said he wants a LCB.
Blind Rojo and Hogg are the only two left footed CBs I recall at our club and they rank as the worst I have seen.
I did say I wasn't necessarily advocating it but that it was probably the main motivation.

Geez,
I never realised an absent comma could get such a reaction but I can definitely see how Rojo could be thought of as being blind with his tackling technique.
Oh well. I thought Blind Rojo was amusing. He sure plays like it (blind, that is) :)

I decided to watch Chelsea vs Lille (2-1). From that game alone, he reminds me of Rudiger (Rudiger last season wasn't as bad as this season). The way how he defend, his asset even the way how he moved is just exactly like Rudiger.

In that game, he wasn't brilliant but he was the best one among the back four. He was the only one who did something & cover stuffs while the other three had a mere. He was the commanding one among Lille's back four in that game. There was one moment he had good anticipation from crossing in awkward position, just wanna give credit where it's due.

Chelsea first goal, I felt like he should have done better since I don't know why he tried to stretch the leg to block Willian's crosses since the area that he tried to cover with his left foot could have been anticipated by the keeper. As a result, Willian's crosses went through his leg and tap in from Tammy.

He won his aerial duel against Tammy & Willian but there was one moment he lost aerial duel to Azpilicueta.

Nothing special but he's Lille best centre back. And for a 22 years old, lot of times that he can make improvement to be better player (may be). A left footed Rudiger.
My personal preference is Pau Torres, just so much better on the ball. His ball playing is a real asset. Defensively rely on positioning. A quicker version of Daley Blind.

This is ramping up. Looks like it will probably happen. Not too pleased tbh. I've seen enough questionable performances from him to know he's not at the level of Lindelof right now. His positioning in particular concerns me a lot. Definitely would have preferred Pau Torres if we were intent on going for a left footed cb.

interesting to see such a reliable journalist getting into this, so maybe this one has substance. Still think we're just being used here though.

I think he will go to us or you. Which means he's off to Napoli.
