How does the this 'dealing with agents', rather than the club directly, work exactly?

I mean, if I get an estate agent to sell my house they only get paid if they actually sell the house. What's in it for them if there's no transfer?

Southampton are also after Martin Hinteregger to bolster their back line.

This is the same Martin Hinteregger who scored 9 goals for Frankfurt last season.
He was a very important and reliable player for Frankfurt, I guess Saints and Hasenhüttl could suit him.

Imagine having a very limited budget and signing Højbjerg first... just wow. Spurs are in for a terrible season once again - and who knows when Kane will be injured like he always is? Højbjerg will barely play, he is an honest, hard-working but most importantly a mediocre PL-player at best. According to some, that’s not how Spurs regard themselves so it makes little sense. If guessing his next club one month ago... I’d say Villa, Burnley or Sheffield United - not Spurs.

He's a huge aerial threat, and given that set pieces tend to be the way to break defensive sides down in the PL, he'll be a great signing for them if this goes through.

Well, we made that initial offer to the agents. It wouldn't serve our interest in any way if other clubs came in to bid for Sancho (unless you're suggesting that Falk mentioning this is a ploy by Dortmund to start a bidding war).
My impression or hypothesis is that Falk may have been briefed by Dortmund or one of their agents.

Napoli will rival Chelsea for Sergio Reguilon. Real Madrid's asking price is 20-25 million Euros, and the player has shown some signs of wanting to move to Italy.

Stevenage will be relegated from League 2 this year and will have to rebuild.

West Ham might get in trouble if they are unable to pay the full amount for Sebastien Haller.

Apparently they don't have enough money due to the pandemic and the fact that they're spending on stadium improvements.
Get Declan Rice then...

He's been wumming the Sancho thread too the little shittttttt
I have not been wumming the Sancho thread. I have stated that I don't believe it will happen this season, and I've given reasons for my skepticism.

Unfortunately, I have been proven correct so far. I hope that and will be thrilled if by the end of the window I will be wrong on the Sancho transfer.

Now that Fabio Borini's a free agent, he's gaining interest from multiple clubs. The reliable sources have only named Torino so far, however.
