The Badiashile tweets have given me a bit of a thrill anyway. At least it’s a rumour about United and an actual player. I had forgotten what that felt like. The fact that I never heard of the player before is completely irrelevant. Let’s break the bank to sign this guy
Even though the Monaco fans apparently don't rate him?

We all love United
Do we think now that United are sending out bids for the Monaco lad, we have perhaps agreed a fee for Dortmund for Sancho and the club now knows how much we have left in our budget? Or am I thinking too far fetched?

It could be that, or we don't have enough money for Sancho and are now going about spending what he actually have on other targets.

Manchester #United transmitted a 25M € for #Badiashile . Offer refused by AS Monaco. AS coach #Monaco , Niko Kovac explained to his leaders that he did not want to part with it and that Monaco should reject all offers for Badiashile. #RMCsport

Source close to Monaco says "Benoit will stay unless Manchester makes an irrefusable offer like Martial" Leverkusen are looking to get back in charge for the defender!
It sound to me that 25m euro would have been accepted before they hired Kovac. :annoyed:

25m is a fair price.
i believe they want €30 million so we’re not a million miles away. Good prospect has all the attribute, just needs a lot of development. I’d prefer an upgrade of Lindelof right now, but I’d imagine we’re don’t have funds for such a purchase.

While your prediction does sound realistic, I just don’t think Barca can afford to keep him and Suarez and also fix the team and rebuild a competitive squad.

They’re severely short of funds and in deep financial trouble.

Getting rid of Messi (perhaps not for free but a fee similar to Ronaldo’s) & Suarez will resolve their financial problems more than getting rid of others could (Coutinho, Griezzman etc).
I think that's where the new president comes in as any president leaving debt behind is personally responsible for that debt not the club.

Great post. Unfortunately many on here wouldn't understand what you're saying even if they could be bothered to read it.
It was a terrible post and terribly formatted (like a few of his posts i've seen). Just noise basically, might as well have gone to the top of a mountain and shouted it out. It was partially in reply to me and I couldn't be bothered engaging with that posting style.

Sorry to kill the thrill but United sending bids for Badiashile means we're not negotiating for Sancho.
There is more than just Judge/Ed who deal with transfer dealings

What do you guys want?

Do you want us to focus on Sancho or do you want us to bid for other players too at the same time

You can't criticise the club for doing more than one deal at the same time and also criticise them for only negotiating for Sancho.

Is this allowed? Essentially two clubs chipping in for one player? After they should have had a transfer ban as well, the audacity of these feckers

You know what, I don't even care. I want to see Messi in the prem.

Sounds like they will sell if we pay up. Once again we’re offering well below the asking price it seems. I suppose transfers like him and Sancho where we don’t want to get mugged off could happen right at the end of the window.
It is not below the asking price. A defender in his class should not be more than 30 m. But we are doing it again the wrong way. We should have waited for another club to make a bid and only then we make ours. Clubs will always want more when we start a bid.

It's City, they're allowed to do anything they want.

Maybe it's because my club is loading up on quality as well, but I'd actually be pretty excited to see Messi in the PL even if it's on a rival team.

Trying to inject some realism into here.

We've just finished 3rd in the Prem and got into 3 semi finals, no one is happy! All I see on here is jealousy of other clubs, Ole bashing, Ed bashing, Glazer bashing. There used to be some middle ground or some positivity around here. Yet now, there is nothing but constant moaning. Too many are too focused on the past and "How great" Man utd used to be.

Manchester United used to be great. Yes. They had all the great players and hardly any teams challenged us for the title. At one time it was just us and Arsenal. Now other teams around us have caught up to our spending power and some you may argue, like yourself (Chelsea) have overtaken us.

We need, as a club, to wake up and realise that we aren't the best anymore. We don't have the pulling power that we once had. Other teams can offer more money and at the moment more chances of silverware. But that does not mean that no one will ever come to United ever again, we're still a huge draw. Just now there is other options for players who come to the Prem. We aren't the only option anymore.

The one that never ceases to amaze me is that ANY bad press about United is believed. Anything at all. When there is some good press about United. People either refuse to believe it or think it's a "Press Briefing" by Ed.

We are NEVER happy anymore and it saddens me to see this once great football fanbase turn to utter shite. Granted it's due to a lack of silverware and challenging for the title and there are genuine reasons to be upset. But don't become bitter and act jealous when you see teams around us splashing the cash. It reeks of entitlement. Just because 'We're Man Utd' doesn't mean that anyone and everyone should come here. It's arrogant. Like I said there is choice now for players.

City
Chelsea
Liverpool
Arsenal
Tottenham
Heck even Wolves and Leicester are now viable teams for players to go too.

Before it was just us and Arsenal!

We need to get behind the manager and the club, we will get better and up challenging again, but it takes time! Liverpool took 30 years to get back challenging. We need to realise it may be us in that position and we need to not become what we all took the piss out of Liverpool fans for.

Focusing on our history.

Which from a lot of posters here, we seem to be doing and becoming, clinging on to the history that "We're the great Man Utd"

We all just need to relax and enjoy the ride, nothing ever worthwhile came easy.

Great post. Unfortunately many on here wouldn't understand what you're saying even if they could be bothered to read it.
Great Post. Agree with every word of this
Thanks guys!

I assure you I am not some fickle Ole out nutter but this pathetic ownership is enough to make you feel pessimistic about the future
In fairness, you have gone from being extremely optimistic, posting about how confident you are that certain deals will get done, calling radio stations telling people not to worry when bad news hit, on to bombarding every thread with pessimism. This is all in the space of a couple of weeks of the transfer window being open.

I think it is based on the the reddit itk stuff that gave you an ill founded level optimism and the reality has given you a bit of a sugar crash. I'm not trying to be a dick but I think for your own well being you probably just need to take a break from transfer news an let things settle for a bit.

Barcelona consults the environment of Maxi Gómez at what price he could leave Valencia. They consider him the ideal replacement for Suárez. Several premier clubs are watching.

Some good points. Of course there are a big % of United fans that the main reason for them being United fans is that they simply chose the club that was winning everything so entitlement is a huge issue.

I think fans would ask why United don't have the pulling power anymore? You say United can't pay what some other clubs can but why is that? Isn't the answer to both of those questions that the club has declined largely due to the fact it is in the hands of a set of owners whose primary objective is to profit personally from the club?

Man City are an exception, granted. Chelsea's initial burst of investment in the Abramovich era was done to simply catch up with United and it done that but United remained competitive with Chelsea over most of the next decade titles were split.

It is only down to incompetence though that Liverpool have been able to surge past United, nothing else. There are no ingredients other than smart decisions that have been the cause of that that United didn't have access to.

Other teams and clubs have risen sure, but United have undoubtedly dropped substantially in standards on and off the pitch, as evidenced by yourself and some others seemingly proudly talking about semi-finals.

Yeah you are right I am very pessimistic about the situation because no one reliable is giving us any hints of positivity at all

Yeah of course you are excited because you have signed loads of players and he isn't joining your big city rivals.

You will also never understand what bad ownership is like we have had to put up with for these last 15 years

Regardless of realism, this is a joke to even claim this. Its fecking Messi. Every top club who even has a potential sniff of it should try. Saying "we aren't in for him" isn't some smart team building idea. It's just dumb to not even try.

This is fans buying the narrative set by the club. We are financially stable, our revenue has not dropped that much that we have no money to spend on transfers considering we have just got rid of £55m worth of wages in Sanchez.
I'm amazed at how many fans are accepting the Glazers covid cover for the lack of backing of Ole, and you can bet it'll be the same ones moaning about Ole's tactics and subs when we struggle for top 4 despite the fact he has nothing on the bench and will have to run the first 11 into the ground again.

It is always pretty frustrating, in an ideal world we have all our transfer dealing done on the first day of the transfer window, but we appear slower then some.

We seem to go from been linked to everyone under the sun outside of the transfer window and then no one once it opens. This is probably because the risks are higher for any reputable journalist as everything is so immediate when the window opens, one wrong move and their credibility takes a hit. The club also seem to be keeping there cards close to their chest.

It fine to be pessimistic, we have some grounds to be but don't let that get to you too much. Let's see where we stand when the window closes as nothing we do meantime will influence how things will pan out.

San Lorenzo's president speaks up on Luis Suarez.

Quotes:
I think that Barcelona's behaviour as been unfair towards such an amazing player like Suarez. He keeps being one of the best '9' in the world, it would be fantastic if he comes to play in the club supported by the Pope.

Luis is partner of our club, and he's been growing watching the plays of Bernardo Romeo, one of our legends.
