Said it before but I only like footballers when they play football. Most are IQ 70 idiots with maturity of 14 years olds and it doesn't matter whether they're actually 20 or 30, they just never grow up, basically big kids in their bubbles.
We hardly hear these things during SAF era. Maybe a few in a decade or so.

Ok! Time for some opinions from a senior with almost 60 years of experience of mistakes.

First. Perspective.

No alcohol. No drugs. No violence. Inside a hotel room. An innocent film with two young beauties. Elements of immaturity. Zero evidence of something illegal happened outside of breaking the bubble.

Then to the serious part.

They did not follow the rules of the law and the protocol. They showed a lack of respect for teammates and staff. They broke Iceland's national rules.

Consequences.

They were left out of the NT and sent home to England. Name and shame on national and international media. Probably high fines and maybe future suspensions from the NT. Some jokes from the terraces and finally some serious conversations at home with their families.

OK. Now the important part. Did our young Casanova find the goal or not? How many other teammates had similar companionship ? Any juicy news of the rest of the management, maybe some older beauties in their room as well? Any other serious social business to report? (we want hot pics, not lame rumors)

Wisdoms to learn.

Make mistakes when you are young. When you’re older it cost you more. Collect everybody’s cell phones when you have sexy women in your room, Use protection.

Besides that. You just live your life once. Things you regret is the things you didn’t do.

Pfft when I heard they broke rules I thought they were doing something silly, sorry but can't fault these lads for this particular infraction.

Thought it came from Snapchat? You don’t think social media increases this kind of stories?
It increases the exposures of these stories, but they don't make the story itself. Twitter, FB have been around for ages, since SAF era too.
But maybe you're right.

Don’t say that. We’re not allowed to anymore.
I think you'll find you're being made fun of for being a grown man talking about that teenage pussy that you'd be physically incapable of resisting, no one's barring you from anything. You can fantasize about whatever you want to.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
Anything but. Mistake was getting caught.

At 18 I’d have 100% been fecked over like these pair. Cause I’m human, not a fecking weirdo robot.
Utterly bizarre. To not put your international career at risk for a shag is being a robot? I bet they’re feeling absolutely great right now aren’t they. Totally worth it. This entire thread is so fecking odd. If he’d done this during our Europa League bubble and risked getting us kicked out of the semi-final I wonder if these responses would have been the same. You’d hope not but this entire place seems to be full of blokes where anything is justified provided you get your cock wet. They’ve both been unprofessional and indisciplined morons who couldn’t follow very simple rules for 10 days on their first international call-ups. The constant comparing it to a normal lad breaking social distancing guidelines is ridiculous - these aren’t normal lads at home these are multi-millionaires at their place of work disobeying very clear UEFA rules thinking those same rules somehow didn’t apply to them. At 18 and 20. A serious level of self-entitlement at such a young age. They’d both be cleaning the fecking boots of the seniors in yesteryear.

In public we need to protect Mason from the inevitable media shit storm that’s coming his way from the wonderful British press who will undoubtedly try to make them the poster boys of the whole ‘the young are driving the second wave killing Granny’ narrative the Govt are going with but privately he needs to be absolutely roasted. Not in that way.

I didn't say there was none. They span over how long SAF was in charge?

No, I think you’ll find that I find that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with him looking some action at his age. Seeing as I was exactly the same around the same age bracket. I’m not sure what’s so bad about guys reminiscing about getting up to questionable behaviour in their formative years and having a laugh about it?

Foden has some explaining to do but I can guarantee you Greenwood is probably getting ribbed by all his teammates in the group chat. I severely doubt he cares as much and he shouldn’t.

On a serious note, does that mean that under Covid-19, footballers can’t even initiate a relationship? Those who are single, should spend their lives as single for the rest of unforeseen future?

Can we keep treating them like robots under Covid-19? Is it not a natural requirement of a human being to be with a partner?

I think footballers will soon get sick of living in that biological bubble and there will be more incidents like that in the future.
Yes, they can initiate a relationship and get their rocks off, but you simply don't pick someone up from a bar, or a night club to just spend a night. This is especially true when you are on national duty with your team, and your first time at that. They could have unknowingly spread that to their national team-mates who would have carried that to their club, plus their own club mates when they join up after the international break. The virus has a couple of weeks of incubation period before you may show symptoms.

I caught it when treating a patient who had COVID-19, and unfortunately, spread it to my family without knowing. Trust me, this virus is not something you want to catch.

Sorry what? He been kicked out of the England squad his first time of being called up, and probably has some form of disciplinary action coming down from The FA and maybe United.

Of course he bloody cares... Because I imagine he cares about playing football.

Bet you never did anything daft at 18 :)
I did loads of daft shit when I was that age. I was also capable of realising when doing daft shit was out of the question. The one and only time I represented my country in a sport (kind of, I played for the Irish universities team... in one tournament) I got to stay in a hotel without my parents for the first time ever and I was good as fecking gold. Wouldn’t have dreamed of acting the maggot.

Anyway. I don’t want to start hating on the guy. It’s disappointing but lesson learned and all that. If he learns from this then it’s probably for the best, long term. I’d far rather he harm his status with England than at United.

I’m worried about Greenwood’s attitude I haven’t seen a talent like his since Rooney. I feel like he’s being tainted by the likes of Lingard and Brandon Williams. Players that will never be top top quality but enjoy the lifestyle. Greenwood has the potential to be a superstar I just really hope he doesn’t throw it away because of his off the field antics.

Go, pop quiz. Find a single person in the whole world that is criticizing Daddy Greenwood for being a teenager wanting to get laid, rather than being a professional footballer unable to control himself for a single weekend, messing up one of his first chances at international football.

"Haha, remember when Iceland as a country made exceptions to their very strict pandemic rules so that we could play international football, and then we just didn't give a feck because who cares about all the dead people?"

No, me and my friends managed to do absolute braindead stuff without messing stuff up for other people, thank you. And the thing is, it's not like what Daddy did is so appalling, either. It's just really stupid, but even pointing that out is too much for some.

He’s been kicked off football duty for one game. He’s getting made fun of on twitter but that’s it. His career isn’t over. He’s been a dumbass like a majority of people his age.

Having fame and money doesn’t make a person infallible to questionable decisions. I'd be much more concerned if he was out partying like Grealish and crashing his car or something. This is a nothing story and his only crime was getting caught the idiot.
