Spurs will be outplayed by the majority of the teams in the league. Jose is finished at this level and I can't seem them finishing any higher than 6th under him.

He has become a dreadful manager. Sad to see.
It is kind of weird to see. 10 years ago he was a treble winner, and known for being one of the best coaches in the world. I don't like his brand of football or some aspects of his man management but a part of me does feel a bit sad for his reputation as an elite manager. Was Madrid the worst thing to happen to him in the long run despite winning a title with them?

That all felt rather familiar. I hope Kane recovers some of his ability when they sack Mourinho.

Spurs are going to be so fecked without the new manager bounce. Wouldn't be surprised if he goes all out for Bale now

Was a bizarre appointment from Spurs.
Like they'd not watched his last few years of management.

Oh well - they can learn the hard way like we did. Just with much lower "highs"

Remains a dreadful decision to sack Pochettino to get Mourinho in, could have put Spurs back 5 or 6 years. It was one of those rare cases where a team had run its course and you accept a transitional season and back the manager. Levy talked up Poch and his great role in the future of Spurs, then sacked him at the first sign of crisis just to fulfill some ego/prestige dream he had 15 years ago. 15 years ago Mourinho wouldn't have looked at Spurs and now he would so Levy liked that, but it's because Mourinho is past it as a manager. Poch was a great fit for that club, they've messed it up big time.

Said it at the time and i'll say it again.....one of the biggest mistakes they'll probably ever make sacking Poch for Jose.

The thread I expected to be on top upon visiting redcafe after the defeat.

On a serious note, Mourinho does successfully suck the life out of any team, leave them miserable. He is just a dinosaur.

Considering how legendarily astute Daniel Levy is supposed to be, why the hell appoint Mourinho on such a massive contract! Sometimes think he’s just been brought in for Amazon ratings

The thing that gets me was, on commentary, they were criticising the players work rate; saying how José won't be happy.

This is a José team. You can't put it on the players when there's been years of evidence from multiple teams. This is how he "coaches" his teams to play.

Beyond me how Utd fans can show pity on this narcissist. Quite openly wished failure upon certain of our players and readily disposed of our clubs 'heritage' in order to not lose face in the media. Loving his footballing demise. Spurs look utterly clueless under him.

Why would Ole not last the season?

Hes prob one of the most secure managers job in the league
If we miss CL he will surely be gone. With Chelsea improving and other teams too that look like it could happen.
We should really be challenging for the league with what we got, but can't see it under Ole.

He should last longer than Mourinho and Moyes though.

I was so jealous when they had Pochettino. I'm so happy now they have Jose :D

I don't think Jose is washed up, just think he's always been overrated. Imagine if he was in his first stint at Chelsea today where there was no FFP, He'd have signed Koulibaly, Mbappe, Sadio Mane, Jadon Sancho and Lewandowski already this window and the media would be hailing him as the biggest genius that has ever lived as they are winning every game by at least 3 goals.

More of the same from Spurs under Jose. No shape, no tactics, no energy, no fun. Just hoping that someone will carve out a half chance for Kane and looking clueless the rest of the time.

Challenging for the league? We haven’t even got a right winger.

Christ, he's turning into Van Gaal. Apart from Lucas mild header in the 2nd half there was absolutely nothing.

You're living in dream land if you think we should be challenging City or Liverpool with the current team.

A more interesting question is when he gets sacked, where does he go from here? This Spurs job felt like sort of a last roll of the dice to show that he belongs among the upper echelon of clubs. After this, does he drop down a level and go to a midtable club? Does he take up international management?

So happy that The Toxic One is someone elses problem. Imagine sacking Poch to hire him!

Van Gaal always had a plan at least, even if the plan could be tedious. Mourinho now seems caught between styles, like he's trying to prove he's not just a defensive manager but then not really knowing how to coach progressive attacking football either. So ends up with mediocre football and bad defending. At least if he committed to full-on defensive football the results would probably be a bit better. He doesn't know his best team at Spurs and he often didn't know it at United either.

He won't be gone even if we miss CL, no matter how much you wish for it. Ole is going nowhere.

And no, this squad is not good enough to challenge for the league.

No getting away from the fact that Jose is well past his best but apart from the huge wage package I'm surprised Jose took on this gig at all when it was clear reaching the 2019 was only papering over the cracks with Spurs whom in the last year under Poch were average at best in the league and now the teams around them have all improved.
