Gibbs :houllier: Clear red card, not sure what Bilic was complaining about to Dean at half time.

I could punch Owen Hargreaves until my arms ended in bloody stumps.

Any replay of the Gibbs incident? Only seen one terribly distant replay.
Gibbs caught James with a combination right cross and left uppercut...at least that what it must have been for James to clutch his head and roll over like a dog doing tricks

All the so-called experts on here scoffing at Rodriguez when we were linked with him.
I don't think he would have fit in well here as we don't necessarily have the setup to make him the creative fulcrum of the team. That being said, the people that scoffed at him joining Everton are stupid. He's a class player, and I genuinely do want to see him do well here. He's one of those players that make football worth watching. Give me James over some more 'functional' anyday.

Agree but totally outplayed by Fulham in the playoff.

Feel they would have been a little like Bournemouth in the PL;capable of some really good wins as well as as heavy defeats
Oh no doubt they’d be made mince meat out of by the big sides, but I’d far prefer them or as you say, Bournemouth, over a one-dimensional poor side like WBA.

They’d probably make the PL that bit more exciting.

He shouldn't have raised his hands and then he wouldn't get sent off. It's Gibbs own fault.
I'm not disputing that at all. I just think players dropping to the floor and rolling about clutching their faces just because they were pushed or flicked is scum like behaviour and should be punished.

Pushing someone in the face is always a cowardly act.

He should've picked him up and slam-dunked him to the ground and repeatedly kick him in the ribs instead.

Was it frustration or did James say something? The fact Gibbs did not protest at all says a lot. If there was more involved you would have thought he would protest his innocence.

Bt sport said he’s got sent off because he’s not allowed to have a conversation with the ref on the pitch. Klopp would be sent off every week

It wasn't Tyson, but he did shove him in the face, which everyone knows risks a red card.
I'm not challenging the red card. I'm asking why players who fall to the floor rolling about clutching their face are not punished for simulation.

Mike Dean must be the most self centered referee there is since Mark Clattenburg. And that says a lot looking what we have in this league.

Not saying he was wrong giving red card to Gibbs. But if he can't take a criticism from manager without giving him red card then we have a problem. Give him yellow, warn him and just move on but no, he wanted the spotlight.
