I'm not sure I understand the logic behind "we have more problems than right winger so we should bother buying a top class young right winger". What are we aiming for here? We aren't going to get the 3 top class players we need in one window, but surely 1 is better than nothing? I'd rather us buy 1 top class player than another 4 pieces of deadwood.

I also think people are underestimating what a difference 1 player makes. We had a few chances down the right hand side that were wasted with sloppy crosses and cut backs, only takes 1 of them to go in to change the game.
We need a CB and a RW. Not rocket science right? I mean we should be asking to sign both, not choosing. I also agree about signing 1 top class rather than 4 team fillers. May take more than one window but the pieces of the puzzle will be far better at the end.

If he looks at that Dortmund squad which is loaded with young talent and looks scary right now; and then looks at our squad plus our inept ownership I'm just not sure why he'd want to come here.

Jesus Christ, 1000 pages.

This isnt happening, anyone whose supported Utd for like 20 mins knows that. It's so typical of our transfer policy for close to a decade now.

If we don't sign him there's going to be a proper meltdown here, unprecedented.

Being coached by Favre to Ole would be the biggest step down.

Imagine coming from a well drilled team like Dortmund's, to a team managed by someone who thinks his role doesn't extend beyond "good vibes" and letting the lads "express themselves"

If we don’t sign him, I hope leading media figures like Neville and Rio help co-ordinate a fan revolt. Any uprising against the Glazers has do be led in the real physical world and then backed up by social media noise, as opposed to simply war by twitter and Tiktok.

Even if we sign Sancho, the Glazers and Woody will still feel the wrath of the fans. It has to gotten to that stage already. Imagine if we don't.

Our fans are too high and mighty on their horses to participate in a revolt on social media. And now you think they will join a real physical revolt?

With @Acquire Me confirming, this is the week!
Acquire me is tier 0.1, Ed is tier 0.2. There are things Acquire me knows about United transfers which Ed doesn't. This is so on!!

Being coached by a top manager in a team where you can see yourself winning major trophies are important factors in decision-making process of a potential star player, let alone that of a possible super star. Does Ole have that lure to attract Sancho is as an important question as wondering if we are ready to cough up the money that Dortmund are asking for.

This could get done yet, especially if we sell Lingard for the reported £30M to Spurs and James for £15M to Leeds.

Incoming funds:
£30M Lingard
£15M James
£20M Smalling
£10M Rojo
£10M Jones
£5M Romero
Total: £90M

Outgoing funds:
£108M Sancho
£40M VDB
£45M Upemacano
Total: £193

Net: £103M
(in line with recent annual net spends)

Yeah, about your incoming funds, I highly doubt we'll even managed to get 1/3 of it.

Yeah so I don't see us completing those sales in two weeks let alone get 90 million for them.

We all love United
Sancho & Telles double agreed deal, yes I know that's being far too unrealistic for this board
Not today but probably before we play Brighton in the league again. Telles seems like a done deal but you’ll never know if PSG might just swoop in although they say they don’t need a LB

You need to correct that list. We are more likely to have to pay out £10M for Jones & Rojo to get rid of them.

Lingard at £30M? You're having a laff.

YOu need to add Bruno to the 'outgoing funds' according to Woodward. It came out of this summer's budget.

Yet he has agreed personal terms for more than a month now.

People underrate the prospect of playing for United.

Considering our time needed for doing deals, could take us at least 2-3 windows to sell them all.

Di Maria wasn't interested in staying, to the point where he refused to go on tour with the club, wasn't really interested in joining us in the first place but he had burnt his bridges at Madrid and PSG couldn't finance him due to regulations. We didn't sell him to keep the spending at a certain level or to finance someone else. If he had stayed, we wouldn't have signed Depay, that's about it.

Net spend is a meaningless obsession, the only thing interesting here is the amount spent to reinforce.
It's literally the only meaningful statistic. Without taking into account how much sales contributed to purchases it's impossible to determine how much was actually invested.

 Yes.

The window has been open for a long time now and not one of them has been sold. Rojo has been seemingly leaving in slow motion for the last 5 years. It really is bizarre. No wonder we take ages to eventually screw up deals like this one for Sancho.
