The absolute disrespect for a player who has given nothing but his all for the club, who has won honors here and is an England international, is nothing short of disgusting and abhorrent behaviour for a so called Man Utd “Fan”

Jones has talent, he’s just unfortunate suffered with lots of injuries.

He’s not cr*p by any means and by no means is a league 1 player by any stretch of the imagination.

Terrible post.
Are you serious? HOW can you defend a player like Jones like that is beyond Madness. He’s done nothing for this club last 4 seasons. Jones is making a living for doing nothing! And makes huge money from our club! I know it isnt his fault but he dosent seem to have any shame in him for taking MILLIONS out of the club every year.
Jones dont deserve any praise.

And what disrespect? I am the one talking sense here. Why do you think no club wants to pay for him? Because his demands are way too high for a lower league club.

I really don't like Woodward and Glazers but God he has made journalists and twitterheads look stupid this summer.

It looks like without writing about United, they have no jobs.

If I was a journalist I would start working next week.
To be fair, that was his personal opinion, not a transfer report. He's Tweeting that out like any other normal person would. At the end of the day, he can use Twitter for personal reasons along with professional ones.

League 1!

He is no where near that level at all!

As other posters have pointed out that he is a Top 10 PL at least

Our club need to take a long hard look at how ruthless Chelsea are with moving players on, they dont cling on to players forever in hope of them coming good based on some small bit of form that they had once produced a season or 2 ago like we do with players.
Really? I thought Chelsea had about 60 players out on loan some of whom had been with them years and never played a game.

Said it pre-season, all those saying Chelsea will challenge this year. a) No City/liverpool still way ahead b) Will be dressing room unrest, only press but already seeing links now of Hudson-Odoi and now Rudiger looking to leave

Pressure will be on Lampard this season
a) you can pretty much ignore the opinion of anyone saying Chelsea would or will challenge

b) why would rumours about two guys who have near a handful of guys ahead of them in the pecking order leaving a club with a squad that needs trimming cause dressing room unrest?

Jones should have been sold years ago, he is only here because of the incompetence of the board.

I can’t take you serious anymore. What other posters thinks that Jones is a Top 10 PL CB except you? Worst thing I’ve read on here ever:lol:

Actually the championship and lower leagues are much more physically demanding than the PL. So yeah I agree he is no where near that level.

Are you serious???? He has no shame. What a terrible comment!!!!

What should he have done??? Turned down the contract we offered him? Asked for a transfer.

Crap post. Crap opinion.

That is a business model, not a bunch of players signed for the first team that turned out to not be good enough.
It’s not really a good one though if it is. Most of them never play a game and achieve very little in the transfer market.

Either way I wouldn’t say it was consistent with a ruthless transfer strategy, more being bankrolled by an oligarch.

Something tells me we're going to sign a couple of players in the next week and it will be two we never heard about or were linked to a year ago with a small mention in twitterverse.

or, we won't sign anyone.

I keep repeating myself with this caveat, but if he could get some luck with injuries and get a run of games in a team like Burnley, or Fulham etc, Phil Jones would be excellent. He 100% has the ability to be a damn good premier league defender. A few years ago I think, under Jose, he had a run of games and was outstanding.

At a team like that where all they want is back to the walls defending and aren't on his back because he isn't Beckenbaur, I am confident he would excel and the team/fans would love him. I swear just look at Johnny Evans, it would be the exact same.

He just needs some luck with injuries.

Buying from PL clubs is extortionate, he'd never provide enough value to be worth the money Everton would want for him.
Hes brilliant though. If the fee was reasonable 40-50m we should be all over it. Best LB in the league after the guy at Pool

Literally on the previous page.....

If he stays clear of injuries,he can easily play for a top 10 team in EPL. Unfortunately for him injuries killed his progress.
Yes

Surely he meant capable of playing for a top 10 premier club.

He'd cost more than that, we're hesitant to pay half of that price for Telles already, Digne would be well north of £50m. He's got 3 years left on his contract, their owners are wealthy, Everton have no need to sell and we've not left them a lot of time to get a replacement in.

Isn’t Digne a little bit shite as well? Shaw is a much better player if fit

On the flip side, McTominays new contract is at 20k/week. If thats the case i volunteer to be his new agent....
We saw the info about 65k for Brandon Williams - it’s unlikely McTominay is on such peanuts then...

No chance. As stated above, if he could get a little luck with injuries he would be a Johnny Evans repeat.
But his injury issues likely won't ever go away and it's these type of players that are very prone to finding themselves slipping down to a league like league 1, his best bet would be to cut his wage demands and try and to find a club in italy to take him on because in serie a it seems like many of the clubs can work wonders with players shaking off past injury problems and thrive in their later years there.

I can't believe Spurs have the money to spend this summer despite the pandemic and having just finished building a new stadium. I'd love to see what kind of accounting magic they utilize to pull it off.
