So another player who's come under the United coaches and regressed to being shit.
Why, I mean most of our signings turn to be like this after you give them some time anyway. If you tell me 1 year ago he would become that shite, I'd probably just laugh.
Nowadays I can't even pull a smile on his performance.
Not really fair to single him out on this play. It was a counter-attack and he was deep in the opponents half. He wasn't slow to sense danger. He was clearly tired and Lindelof should have provided cover instead of pointing and running aimlessly.People who claim he's a great - or even good - defender ignore every aspect of defending other than 1v1.
Positionally terrible - always. Zero sense of danger, or zero care, meaning he jogs back on every counter-attack (happened today as usual).
Here's one example. Look how slow he is to sense danger - jogging back at a canter - despite having the whole picture in front of him:
I'd agree with that to an extent, but it's a definite pattern in Bissaka's game. Happens, without exaggeration, multiple times every game. I have no idea how to clip moments from games, so these aren't necessarily the best examples but they're from clips that already exist. That one is on the Ice Man. Why is he pointing out to attacker, with AWB so far out? While he himself is not marking anyone, FFS.
That's fair. For me, the biggest worry is that all the issues brought up by Vidic/Lizarazu - exceptional defenders, clearly - in that famous Wan-Bissaka image, and associated clips, are still true. All of them. Maybe even getting worse, nearly a year down the line. Not really fair to single him out on this play.
He was woeful though.
It's shocking how a team can add a defender to secure a lead and the result is even more space in their own box, either Ole is terrible at communicating how he wants his team to play or AWB can't understand it. (it's probably both)How on earth was their lwb free at the back post multiple times ? Even when you put another cb he was still free and finally scored.
It was the same pattern from brighton yet all second half their lwb whose name escapes me kept popping up at the back post free time after time. Players themselves should have picked up on it way before he equalised. It's shocking how a team can add a defender to secure a lead and the result is even more space in their own box, either Ole is terrible at communicating how he wants his team to play or AWB can't understand it. He thrived under a negative defensive coach where they all defended as a team.So another player who's come under the United coaches and regressed to being shit.
Unfortuanately we don't know whether he was told to or not.I think the first March chance came around the 60th minute. Then there must have literally been a dozen more times that March had about 20 yards of space, completely alone.
AWB kept moving to the penalty spot. It was genuinely bizarre.
I obviously blame him - especially after Bailly came on.
But more the coaching staff. It's a quiet stadium right now. That was 35 minutes of negligence, and it appears not a single coach thought maybe they should have a word. Disgraceful.
The player that almost gifted us a goal in the first 15 minutes or so?I would go all out to get Lamptey.
wasn’t me. Was some other Anderson.Pinging @Mr Anderson
So you're attempting to define him by one mistake? The player that almost gifted us a goal in the first 15 minutes or so?
It is this overrating of players thats resulted in us having some of the players we do.
Just play Laird instead.
wasn’t me. Was some other Anderson.
but in fairness, you must have some b in your bonnet to play out this “I told you so” across 2 threads....
MelodramaticWould go down as one of our worst ever transfers. He has literally one awesome attribute and is from below average to awful on all the other things (positioning, aerial ability, passing, playing with the ball).
He'll be back to Crystal Palace for 15m when we'll get a good manager.
I think hysteric is more fitting.Melodramatic
No I'm saying he has hardly shown enough to warrant us going and buying him when we have a talented player on our books of the same age. Instead of buying more 'might be good'.So you're attempting to define him by one mistake?
Meaning we should only get players who don't make mistakes? Good luck with that!
I've never seen a performance that bad at RB.One of the worst performances I've ever seen, he fecked everything up. Rookie kinda stuff, hope Liard is fit soon to challenge this fumbling shit house.
To me it looks like he's running faster than a few others (plus it was late in the game and he was clearly gassed).People who claim he's a great - or even good - defender ignore every aspect of defending other than 1v1.

He almost did that last season. There were glimpses of great crossing ability in his defensive bias, just not that often.AWB will be a great player if he ever comes out of his shell.
I meant more so mentally. At 22 with almost 100 senior appearances under his belt, I'd expect a little less shyness from him on the pitch. He almost did that last season. There were glimpses of great crossing ability in his defensive bias, just not that often.
His age is good for development and it's highly doubtful for now that Laird will automatically displace him.
Me neither buddy, literally everything he did was wrong. Absolutely woeful performanve and should be dropped.I've never seen a performance that bad at RB.
Neville, Rafael, Fabio, Young, Valencia, Brown, O'Shea, Jones, P. Nev.
Never put in a performance that bad.
Our whole squad is getting younger and younger, but I agree you can expect that rightly for a player that cost 50m and this is why despite spending heavily we're still incomplete package.I meant more so mentally. At 22 with over 100 senior appearances under his belt, I'd expect a little less shyness on the pitch.
95% of Premier League defenders. That's not even a flippant answer. He's genuinely not a good defender. Players who can do the bare minimum basics like read the game, position themselves even vaguely sensibly and get tight to their man instead of trying to bait a slide tackle from 5 yards away - offering free crosses all day long - are all better defenders than somebody who's exceptional 1v1, and nothing else.People saying he's a bad buy is blind. Who's better defensively than him?
