This is reaching some serious levels of bs. Your rant would be understandable if it was 85th or 87th min. When we conceded it looked over. It was end of added time.
I fell down to my knees as well. It broke me a little. But the moment it kicked on again I was rampageing inside my apartment like a maniac.
It wasn't a good performance but there will be more of those till we reach required game fitness so we have to get those points in every possible way no matter how dreadful we look on the pitch.
Mate, it’s hardly a rant. I just said that I don’t expect a United captain to fall to his knees like that in the face of an equalizer against Brighton, and everyone’s jumping on me as if I’d said that hitler was a good guy.
Surely I’m entitled to my own standards and opinions?
What you did in your home is hardly relevant as you’re not the captain of Manchester United. I grew up in the Fergie era like many others here and base my expectations on the players I grew up with. My only point is that people are saying that Maguire is such a leader of men but in the face of adversity he slumped to his knees like everyone else. I would never expect a Rio, Neville or a Vidic to act like that.
It’s all I said. Let’s just agree to disagree. I’m not trying to force my opinion on anyone and if people disagree, let’s just accept that we have different expectations of our club’s captain when facing adversity. I understand that I’m in the minority here and winning a header from a corner and strongly appealing for a penalty is enough to be a proper United captain for many people in here, and that’s fine but something I disagree with.
I expect the United captain to lead his men on until the last second and not until 30 seconds before the game is over.
