The Thing is, if we sign dembele then it basically rules out sancho United even next summer and potentially another premier league side will sign him.
If Ole can get a tune out of Dembele (huge task and highly unlikely) we wouldn't need Sancho because they are just as equally talented. If Dembele outgrows his unprofessional antics and injuries he is a bloody good player. Sancho is a safer bet, however.

That's not quite what the post he quoted was suggesting though
Some of our fans ffs.

Martial was the best striker in the league after the restart.
Fair enough, I wasn't being clear. I think Martial has looked out of form, like much of the squad. I'm hoping with improvements to the squad in the transfer window, there can be enough competition that players don't have to automatically start. Or at least Ole feels he has a viable alternative if somebody is out of form.

Zinchenko did reject a move to Real Betis previously, but City still want him to move on.
Alaba would make a lot of sense. City's FBs play like midfielders and he wants to play in midfield. Win win.

Relax, Bayern have said they'd rather let him go for free next year than sell him this summer. It will be Taglafico or Telles they go for.
If they wanted Telles they’d have him by now. City aren’t arsed about saving a few quid or altering perceptions of themselves in the market.

  • Milan are looking to bring in Real Madrid's Nacho Fernandez on loan.
  • Milan offered United a loan with an option to buy for Diogo Dalot.
    • United want a permanent sale.

Summary:
  • Price difference: 6 million Pounds
    • Porto want 18, but United value him at 12.
  • Diogo Dalot is attracting AC Milan's interest.
  • Roma will submit a new bid for Smalling.
  • United are looking to offload Sergio Romero, Marcos Rojo, and Phil Jones.
We shall see if Porto take 12 million Pounds at the end of the window. I think everything hinges on whether they want to take whatever they're getting or pay Telles' salary for the remainder of the time and then lose him for free.

Oriol Domenech is quite reliable when it comes to Barcelona news.

ZINCHENKO, CULER OBJECTIVE
Oriol Domenech:
"Barça would see him with very good eyes because he could also play on the left wing and in the double pivot"

"It [Zinchenko's transfer] could go into Eric Garcia's operation, where Rafinha has been offered to lower the price. City are thinking about it"
Feel free to ignore the Zinchenko part. What's key here is that Barcelona are offering Rafinha as part of the deal to get Eric Garcia from City.

Zinchenko in a double pivot?

Regardless of his position, I don't think he's good enough for Barca.

"United want to pay no more than £6m"

I know the goal is to sign the cheapest left back in Europe (outside of League Two) but 6 million seems a bit optimistic.
its 12 million that United are bidding i.e. 6M short of 18M that Porto want. That article's content doesn't seem to match what its title says and what all others are reporting.

Some outgoing Napoli transfer updates:
  • Arkadiusz Milik could find a new club in this window.
  • Fernando Llorente is attracting interest from both Elche and Eibar.
  • Amin Younes is getting interest from Fortuna Dusseldorf.
  • Adam Ounas is getting interest from Cagliari.
  • Elseid Hysaj is on the final year of his contract with Spartak Moscow submitting an offer for him.

Watford sign William Troost-Ekong from Udinese.

It must be nice for Watford to be able to have first dibs on Udinese's players (and vice versa). I'm surprised that there are no rumours about Deulofeu going to Udinese.

West Ham submitted 25 million Euros, but Fiorentina are holding out for more.
Milenkovic - Diop would be quite the CB pairing for a club of their level. Not that it would make any difference with their perpetual shambles style of operation of course.

Anyone seeing one of the sports witness journos, who are very good at breaking down stories and debunking rumours, in a feud with Romana? Calling him out as bullshit really who just copies Di Marzio. He’s heralded on here as being the absolute dogs bollocks - is he?

Wow, this really has blown up, hasn't it?

From what I've seen, he's given credit to journalists several times but not all the time. There have also been many occasions where he Tweets something that's very similar to what someone else Tweeted (see Gerard Romero's Tweet on Dembele today vs. that of Romano's). After being heavily invested in transfer Tweets this summer, I have started to wonder if Romano indeed does have his own connections or piggybacks off of others'.

With that said, he's better than BS merchants like Nicolo Schira or your everyday ITK Tweeter/Redditor, but of course, that shouldn't be enough.

EDIT: Annie (the SportWitness journalist) is starting to get more and more abuse, but the one valid point that several have raised is why she hasn't engaged privately with Romano. Still, if other journalists are feeling the same way or have had the same experiences, then it wouldn't surprise me if more of them come out.

EDIT 2: She deleted the Tweet after the abuse that she's received. :nervous:

I think Fab might have started to get to big for his boots. It seems like everyone will only accept his word on things and for a lot of these stories he's not first but doesnt credit those that are. He def has contacts but the expectation that he knows everything about every deal seems just ridiculous. Also his follower count has gone up by over a mil this summer so he's probably under more and more pressure to give news.

This doesn't surprise me because during the course of this window I've even questioned him.

I've been half expecting Fab to implode at some point this summer. His entire identity now seems to be being the guy who breaks the transfer, and no one journalist can do that for every big transfer. No matter how well connected, sometimes other journalists will have a better connection and will scoop you - so honestly I could totally believe the accusations that he's presenting other people's scoops as his own

Yup, he's basically backed himself into a corner by talking about every single decently-sized transfer story. His willingness to get involved in everything has seen him reaching out to some interesting sources.

The next step now is to give more credit to others for their scoops (like he did with Verweij, Ornstein, David Vinuesa Malbac, Falk, Bouhafsi, and Sportske Novosti).

His entire identity is based on getting some scrap second hand information off di marzio, and then knowing what stories to jump on when others break it. It is a very obvious mo.

12 million now or a free at the end of the season. Seems no brainer unless they need his presence for the team to reach some specific goal.
