Oh wow.
That would be some move if we pulled the rug under them and forced them to hand back 22M of that RC straight away
Worst case scenario, we keep one more body in midfield (who will be unhappy as feck) and sell him next summer to Italy since i doubt Atletico will talk to us ever again
Please let it be true...
Boss move.

What’s going on with these genuine talkSHITE exclusives? They’ve broken 3 stories now in the past 3 days before anyone else.

Paid loan deal for Dembele has got to be better than £45m for Sarr. At least there's a chance of Demebele doing something for us. Stick an option to buy in there and we're laughing (not literally, we are literally crying, obviously).

Unpopular opinion -

VdB, Telles, Cavani & Traore will be a very good window for us.

Mengi and Laird need to feature too.

VdB offers tactical awareness, grit, press and quality on the ball in CM that weve lacked.

Cavani will offer poacher type goals, grit, pressing and someone on the end of crosses. That weve lacked.

Telles will offer a genuine attacking threat from FB and actually be able to put in crosses. That weve lacked.

Traore has the potential to be a player we buy before they are a star and costs a fortune. He will challenge Greenwood who is already excelling.

Mengi has to deserve a shot at CB.
Williams and Laird can be back up for AWB.
Henderson will take DDGs spot.

Will Ole be brave enough and get them playing well enough? I'm not sure anymore.

I'd much rather have Dembele than Sarr tbh.

Traore could be a very good deal at the quoted price. Look how few games Ansu Fati has played for Barcelona and he has a £150mil + 'not for sale' price tag.

Surely any deal for Dembele would require a proper proper medical. 6 hours left in window. Not much time to check those hamstrings

Dembele on loan isn't the worst option, at least if he can play 15-20 games he'll provide a threat in those games. Also means Greenwood can play striker rather than seeing Ighalo lumbering about.

So this is looking like being our senior options this season:

De Gea/Henderson

Wan Bissaka/Williams
Maguire/Smalling
Lindelof/Bailly
Telles/Shaw

Matic/Fred/McT (1 of)

Bruno/Pogba/VDB (2 of)

Greenwood/Sarr or Dembele
Rashford/James/Mata

Martial/Cavani

We've strengthened our squad and we need to try and get Smalling back in and playing after the international break. But we're weak at CB. We need a Haaland, Sancho and Upamecano next summer.

Traore is only 18 years old? Similar to the other kid of Uruguay, can't be anything bar a signing for the future and not for next season.

The way I've read his injuries, and I could be wrong of course, we'd be lucky to get 5. Appearances that is.

That's assuming Partey wants to move. If he doesn't, then you are equally screwed

I'm adamant Smalling and Mengi are our best two CBs. Dont care what anyone says.

I've been against the Cavani deal - but if it's only 1 season I can get on board.

I'd love Sancho - but the club's arrogance and incompetence have blown this. Dembele is no doubt class when fit and firing - but we don't know how likely this is (none of us are in a position to comment on his attitude and fitness (he's young and had one bad year of injury - not enough to write him off). I actually think Sarr could be a star and the price is what you'd expect - look at Watford paid for him and what the scousers paid for Jota (imagine the outrage on here if we signed Jota for that amount). I'd rather Sarr than Jota certainly.

Although it won't happen - it would be great if the club did bow to fan pressure and splash out on Koulibaly or Upamecano.

Hope this turns into another 40 million + 1 debacle for them.

What significantly cheaper option will we turn to after ballsing up the Sancho deal? A raid on the Championship or a loan for an out of favour Barca winger who is never healthly?

Who needs a world class player for the next decade, this is nail biting drama!

Fans trying to put on a brave face and be positive but if we're honest the last 48hrs has been one of the darkest periods in the club's recent history. Being walloped by a Europa League also ran club at home and now this quite frankly desperate and frantic shop for new players on deadline day.

Ed Woodward n The Glazers should be hung drawn and quartered on the Stretford End. Is this the 'staying calm and 'relaxed about the window' they let drip to the press ??? What an utter shambles.
