Presume it’s down to Romero getting a move before the end of the window and Jones and Rojo, well, y’know...

No big surprises really.

Even if Jones and Rojo were picked, they wouldn’t the available through injury anyway.

Obvious decision. Otherwise Jones would be cup tied for Real Madrid. Btw, where is Greenwood in that list?

I think Pellestri's inclusion is more interesting.

Though having said that, I think most of our young players can automatically play and don't need to be registered, so it would make sense to give him a spot.

Jones' contract extension is still one of the most bizarre decisions from Ole.

I think it’s just company policy. Do we ever not renew players when they’re up for renewal? It’s strange though.

One moment giving him a new contract, next you dont include him for CL roster, makes sense right. Hope Jones pays them % of his wages as part of that whole scam.

surely that’s why we insert the optional yr though. As a safety measure. If they’re still bad/unavailable in that additional year then it’s utter madness to then offer them a new contract

I thought Ole was so-called good at getting rid of deadwoods? Jones has been the greatest deadwood in the team without a doubt.

U21 don't need to be registered I think, they're eligible automatically.
but I don't understand why Pellestri was included though
B list players have to be at the club for a certain number of years. Pellistri obviously hasn’t met that as he’s just joined. I can’t remember the exact length. Maybe 2 years or something.

Romero deserves a move and at least Rojo wants to play he’s gone out on loan and I’m sure would move to Argentina full time.

Phil Jones is just the board’s responsibility. Gave the guy a new bumper 5 year contract:lol:

I hope he never plays for us again and milks them for every penny. Feck em.

Jones’s testimonial will involve 22 permacrock players being wheeled around a football pitch on hospital trolleys and the ball will be a medicine ball being smashed off various limbs. If I had time I would devise 2 predicted XIs but half of them would probably have played for Manchester United at some point

Quite sure we can also add further players in January, ie Diallo?

Romero deserves a move. Glad about the other two. Feel for Jones a bit but not Rojo.

I think Lingard will surprise a few. Against the likes of Leipzig his energy and pressing can be quite useful.

Why cant we release jones on mutual consent?
Jones would happy walk if United pay up the value of his contract. Tbh, I'd like the club to do that to get rid. But they clearly think they can recoup money on him somehow.

In the meantime I'd make him clean boots, help the kit man, wash pots in the canteen, wash Ole's car. Make him, rojo etc. Earn their money!

They're earning their money by ensuring that the doctors/physios don't slack off and get complacent.

No surprises - all sensible decisions. Shows how bloated the squad is.

Also ref the Jones contract, was that not done whilst Ole was caretaker manager? If so, clearly that’s the board. Ultimately a bad decision all round.

Romero not being included means he can go to a championship club now if he wants, or I think a couple of other leagues still have windows open, just he can’t play in Europe.

Nothing wrong with the way he’s been ‘treated’. Excellent back up, time for him to move on.

His running around the pitch is what's going to get him his new contract innit.
Knowing Woodward it will. To be fair to Lingard there's a useful situational player in there if he can regain his confidence. But he really should have been moved on in the summer.

At this point it really would surprise me if he managed a good performance.

Jones’ contract runs until 2023 and that’s before even executing the option of a further year. That’s mad.

no club in their right mind would take the waste of space. Unbelievable, what he has got away with for years and made a fortune out of it. Won the lotto and not going to throw it away.

id like that too but in reality, couldn’t happen due to contract conditions. He should be made to train alone, though. Then again, he’d break his fecking leg getting out of bed And not turn up for training. Bigger disaster than Birtles.

should give useless cnut Rojo away and Romero, tbf, has fulfilled his purpose and never let us down. Wish him well.

You think Ole does the mechanics of finding them a buyer and selling them?

All he probably does is identify who is not needed, the rest is up to Ed and Co and the players' agents.

It's a shame for Romero. He has served the club well and we should let him leave gracefully, as he clearly wants to go now. Rojo is much the same. He wants to play, probably back in Argentina, and i assume he will leave when he can. It didn't work here but he was not a bad player.

Jones, i would be happy to swallow the wage cost and cancel his contract. Save on the physio fees.
