Sony living in Xbox's head rent free.

Also Xbox:

To be fair Sony did poke fun on them for how Microsoft wanted you to not share the games and be online for your single player games as well.

It's just that they choose this to respond with

Ah so to expand Xbox series x storage it has to be a derive specifically made for it? Makes sense
Have they even confirmed if you can play ps5 games off these additional SSDs?

All the news says it’s for PS4 games and you’ll have to transfer ps5 games on to the native ssd to play them. Unless something has changed?

You're thinking of a plug and play drive. The one where he opens up in the video is for an extra internal ssd is it not? Or am I misunderstanding something here? Won't be able to play ps5 games off the external plug and play drive.

To expand storage on both you can use an external HDD or SDD. To play you can use the proprietary Xbox one or the less accessible PS5 one that has more options. Price wise they'll be about the same.

The Xbox contract with Seagate is for 2 years I believe so if the tech gets cheaper than now they may well open it up to other manufacturers

Yeah but those internal ones can be made into external hard drives dead easy. I have one for my og Xbox One, in a case, then plugged in by USB.

So is this ps5 slot allowing new games to be played off it, or just for storage to switch on to the proper drive?

It might do, I dunno. But they said a while back external drives will only be for storage, and I don’t see the difference if it’s fast enough, unless the usb is limiting it.

Either way, it sounds like it’ll be the same price as the Xbox additional storage. Maybe a bit cheaper depending on which are ok to use.

Don't worry, I'll be cringing all night into my sweet gamepass offerings while you're enjoying your individual games that retail at a recommended price of £69, unless you buy them at a discounted rate.

I went through a phase of thinking custom controllers were awesome. Then I turned into an adult.

Honestly though, they're ok, but I hate how they don't match my console  I prefer whatever controller matches the console these days.

Where did your post go asking @Alock1 to prove the expandable ps5 ssd will cost similar to the official Xbox one?

Cringe that you deleted it once you realised it was true.
I replaced it with this one, because I felt like it. You're not very good at this are you?

Finally thinking he has a point other than constantly repeating “but where’s the exclusive footage” then having to retract it

We all know that comment is unlikely to hold for long with 23, soon probably 25+ first party studios.

Blah blah blah.... Still no XBox SX exclusive gameplay footage worth talking about. Come back when you have some.

All bark no bite...

I'll wait...

A second PS5 compatible SSD has been confirmed.

ResetEra Link

Comparison to Series X storage

CategorySeagate Storage Expansion Card (Series S|X)SN850 NVMe SSD (PS5)
Price (1TB version)£219.99$229
Proprietary/Non Proprietary*ProprietaryNon Proprietary
Read Speed2.4 GB/s7 GB/s
LightingNoneRGB
Storage Size Options1 TB500 GB | 1 TB | 2 TB

*Proprietary = can only be used on the named product.

Not bad, and price will go down quicker on the storage for the PS5 than the Series S|X. Will probably get a 2 TB one in a couple of years when they get down to around 200.
