I think we get hung up on his attacking ability too often, and how bad he is on the ball. I think with a quality, natural winger in front of him he can be an adequate support option. For me, he's a brilliant athlete and if he can learn to time his overlaps, he can be an effective attacking option just by making those runs. He doesn't even need to receive it, I would just like to see him to it more often. His crossing is very poor though, he needs to work on that big time.
As to people questioning him defensively, he can improve on his positioning for aerial duels at the back post, that's a glaring weakness. However, I think we take for granted how often he's left 2 v 1 down his side, and more often than not he manages to deal with it. Once again, I think with a natural winger who does his defensive duties as well, he could form a very good partnership.
