VAR getting that wrong is just ridiculously poor.
So ridiculous that I was convinced my understanding of the rules must have been wrong. Really really poor for the linesman to miss it and then VAR missing it too is scandalous really.

That genuinely feels rigged.

there’s no way that a linesman or ref should miss that, and then VAR does nothing?! That is absolutely shocking.

Because he’s taking advantage of his position on Mings’ blind side. I understand why some say as soon as Mings touches it then it becomes a new phase of play, but you can’t just ignore everything around that. For me it reeks of this new freeze framing VAR refereeing. Looking at things in isolation instead of the big picture.

He clearly gains an advantage from being in an offside position. That should be all there is to it.
I agree, Mings has to touch the ball, he can't just leave it hoping for an offside.

Terrible decision but I'd rather City win games as I can't be having Liverpool winning the league again.

Yep that goal should not have stood. Serious let off for City. VAR too busy disallowing fair goals for offside to give that.

He chests it down and it’s not even hit the floor before he nicks it. That’s offside all day long and I can’t blame the manager for calling him a useless so and so.

Mings already had control of the ball, that's when Rodri started to be involved in the play, obviously not offside.
Rodri moved towards Mings before he received the ball. It’s not inconceivable that Mings got a call from someone and so rushed his first touch, or rushed his first touch because he knew he had a man behind him, and thereby influencing an opponent from an offside position, which makes him offside.

Imagine the outrage if a decision like that went out way
We’d never hear the end of it. I hope this is talked about for a long time as city weren’t winning this tonight - they’ve been gifted a win. I’m fuming!

Never seen anything like that. Fecking VAR not even looking at it just makes it ten times worse.

Unfortunately that penalty will gloss over the refs error. I bet he’s chuffed he could give it!

It'll be brushed under the carpet now because they've won by two.

That is the most rigged decision you will see in Europe this season.
