TIme to rest AWB. We need him to be super fit against Arsenal. If possible for Rashford, Shaw, and one of Pogba or Bruno also. Matic for Fred would be nice.

We could have fielded our strongest team, if we didn't go full blazing last Sunday. But it is what it is.

Newcastle are possibly the worst team in the league haha I know Sheffield are bottom but I’d still rather face Newcastle
They think they’re beaten before they walk on to the pitch against big teams this year
Mata could still offer something tonight. This is one of the few games were he's useful and his lack of pace shouldn't be a liability because we should be camped in their half.

    I’d probably go with:

    De Gea

    AWB
Lindelof (I want Bailly fresh for Arsenal)
    Maguire
    Telles

    Matic
    Pogba

    Greenwood
    Bruno
    Martial

    Cavani

Players who need recovery should start on the bench today. At the same time we should start with players who benefit from more time on the pitch

    Henderson
    AWB/Tuanzebe Bailly Maguire Telles
    Fred
    VDB Pogba
    Greenwood James/Martial
    Cavani

Sheffield are no pushovers, and we can expect a physical battle.

I want Bailly to start for his physicality, and I think McSauce can do a job with his physique and leadership as well.

    Must win this!!

Keep James away from this team. Not his game. Very few are to be fair.

Don't think we can get too cocky in this game - would be a waste to make half a dozen changes and then we fluff the 3 points and pressure is on at Arsenal.

Play a strong team, get the 3 points and don't take our eye off the ball. If the game is comfortable after an hour then make changes. Don't make it more difficult for ourselves than it needs to be.

I've got an ominous feeling about tonight. Everything says we should beat them, and convincingly, but I'm fearful of a proper banana skin.

Suppose it will be like this every game now!

Honestly until we win the league I'm going to be feeling like this.

    It's both awful and great.

Me too, I think we will win by one, which I’ll take!

We made a meal out of this in the away game this season and think it might be the same.

    Believe guys, believe :keano:

Bruno and Cavani will keep a fire lit under the arses of the team.

This is serious football now, we need every player in the zone mentally. I hope those pair being so driven are ramming this home in the changing room.

If we can't beat bottom of the table Sheffield United, then we are not winning the title. Not only should we win, we should beat them comprehensively. If we can't wrack up the goals at home to the worst team in the league, then who can we against? We need to start improving our goal difference or else it could be another 2011-12 title situation.

Sheffield only have 5 points. It’s 1 win, 2 draws and 16 losses. And they miss 9 players as well. Where do these banana skin feelings come from?
It’s not like we are losing points left, right and centre to give basis for fears - we actually play quite well recently

My team for tonight would be:

    Henderson/DDG

    Telles Maguire Bailly AWB/Axel

    Pogba Matic

    Martial Bruno Greenwood

    Cavani

I wouldn't risk Rashford (even if the scan revealed just bruising). Give him a bit of time to recuperate and let Greenwood build some form after the good game he had on the weekend. I'd even consider playing Donny in this as well so that Bruno gets a bit more rest before we play Arsenal, but I'm not sure if that's going to happen after he had an hour or so on the bench against Liverpool on Sunday.

Would love to see Amad on the bench too.

For me it was how hard we made the away fixture for ourselves.

Because he have a habit of making it really hard for ourselves then getting bailed out by individual brilliance.

As opposed to every other team that score goals after 20+ passes and perfect coaching.

Man our individuals must be brilliant!

22 points from a possible 24 away from home , Wednesday are bottom of the PL , if there was ever an easy away win this should be it.
I’m confused  this game is at home, I’m just referring to the game last month where we won 3-2 and made the game harder than it needed to be.

    Also, wrong Sheffield

I think these times are long gone, we are solid enough to enforce our gameplay vs Sheffield. Besides, Bruno is rested (and in general Ole rotates, so apart from Maguire, we don’t have anyone who plays every game and is thus tired)

At least we have no choice but to have lots of pace tonight with the amount of absentees. It’s the one thing I feel somewhat positive about.

I would rest Rashford for the weekend, then put Martial on the left and Cavani up the middle.

You’ll likely be facing Jagielka again with Egan suspended. Just want this week to be over with already.
Strange things happen. Who expected piss poor Newcastle and West Brom sides to take points off Liverpool?

The issue with United presently is the fact winning margins are tight, and do that end it always leaves us open to dropping points.

The game at your place a prime example tbf...

If you look at this as a free hit of sorts your players might play with a bit less pressure on their shoulders.

I'm taking nothing for granted here...especially as you have a few positive results to draw on that you didn't last time.

We should win comfortably, but comfortable doesn't seem part of the plan :). We can't afford any slip ups right now if we plan on pushing those around us all the way...so pressure is on.

Stranger things have indeed happened but we are where we are for a reason. A wide open defence and a non existent attack. Man Utd have too much for us to handle. Would be great to grab a goal tonight though just for a confidence boost.

I suspect Rashford, Cavani and Martial all start. In midfield we’ll have Bruno, Matic and van de Beek. Tuanzebe, Lindelöf, Maguire and Telles in defence, while Dave is in goal.

Bring on Pogba and Greenwood if needed. Diallo and Mata if we are up with a couple of goals.

4-0 (Rashford x2, Bruno, Donny and Telles the scorers).

Personally think they will park the bus so we need creativity and height to defend set pieces, ideal game to play DVB as I imagine Fred/McT will play against Arsenal and Pogba can be rested. Would like Cavani rested but think we need his presence up front. I would go with:

    DDG

    Axel Lindelöf Maguire Telles

    DVB Matic

    Mata Bruno Martial

    Cavani
