Rashford rested, other than that full strength. We need to just keep winning.

Fair enough. Thought there was a chance as he did in the last game.
De Gea has so far made zero mistakes this year. Henderson is given some games (in the cups), including important ones (as with Liverpool), but overall impression is that Henderson is not on de Gea level this season.

That said, Dean’s performances are by no means bad. He is reliable when called upon

Lineups have become rest lists, what a time to be alive.
    Indeed.

Seen a lot of posts lobbying for resting everyone because SU are garbage. They're not.

Seen a lot of posts lobbying for playing the strongest XI because every game matters. They do, but...

The truth is somewhere in between and we have a strong enough bench that Ole will rotate some, leaving a strong side on the field with strong subs if needed. His rotations so far have really done us well, so I'm for trusting him.

    De Gea
    Wan-Bissaka Bailly Maguire Telles
    Matic
    McTominay Van de Beek
    Fernandes
    Greenwood Martial
If Ole feels the need to rest a few like Rashford, Pogba, Shaw then I think we could see something like this, with Matic dropping between the CBs, encouraging the full-backs to push up against what we expect will be a low Sheffield United block.

Ahead of Matic, McTominay provides physicality and ball progression, Donny links the defence and attack and Bruno should be pushed up high almost as a false 9. It's very much the Bruno show, with Martial and Greenwood working to link up with the Telles & AWB to stretch the Sheff Utd CBs.

If things aren't going well, Pogba can provide extra creativity and Rashford & Cavani can add extra goal threat in the 2nd half (or let's face it, the last 10-15 mins)

    2-0.

Fred needs to play for sure. And McTominay was subpar against Liverpool, so better Fred instead of him.

Ah yeah I forgot Fred didn't start against Liverpool did he. Fred will be vital against Arsenal at the weekend, but I guess he's well rested now.

I'm not sure Mctominay will have any space to progress the ball. It's not his kind of game because they'll pack their half. I'd rather another attacker in there instead of Scotty.

Just give Rashford a rest, no need to play him, even if his knee is fine, let Martial and Greenwood start.

Not a chance. Ole gave him a few chances but while Henderson will become top class and is our future number 1, he’s nowhere near DDG atm.
I reckon he could start as he did in the reverse. He didn't drop DDG then, and he wouldn't be tomorrow either. Just rotation, not that I believe keepers need rotation

Really like the look of this team, nice bit of rotation to freshen things up and hopefully Greenwood and Martial can get amongst the goals. Mata & VDB can play those incisive passes to open them up. Loads of firepower on the bench if we need to go to it.

I think as push comes to shove, Deano won’t feature in the PL again until we have nothing to play for (hopefully, when we’ve won the league with a game to go :D)

I was just thinking he may have a chance, especially after reading how many are wanting your new signing to be involved and key players rested due to how easy this game is. It’s irrelevant anyway as you could throw Ole in goal and he’d have nothing to do either.

Mata was great out there against Newcastle. Joined everything up and got us moving up the pitch well.
Newcastle are possibly the worst team in the league haha I know Sheffield are bottom but I’d still rather face Newcastle
They think they’re beaten before they walk on to the pitch against big teams this year

Whichever team we play they need to start on the front foot. Getting sick of these sloppy starts where we often concede and then have to comeback.

Can we have a game where we are winning comfortably at half time and can cruise through a second half

Based on nothing more than a hunch, I reckon Diallo will make a brief appearance tomorrow night.

    And score a wordie.

City's results are irrelevant for the next two matches and this one tonight. We knew they'd smash West Brom, and will likely do the same for the next two games.

We just need to make sure we're within a point or 2 behind them when it comes to them hitting that stretch of Liverpool-Spurs-Arsenal matches.

Think Pogba and Shaw might be rested here. Bailly in for Lindelof. Otherwise will be as strong a lineup as possible.

    Rashford the only doubt.

Still haven't announced when they are due to play their rearranged fixture with Everton at Goodison yet

Fair take. I can see us slipping over the next few weeks but hope I’m wrong.
Need to win tomorrow of course, they will work hard.

Win dont care if a sloppy 1-0, let's just not lose any points until City starts playing against decent teams.

My gut feeling right now is that we will be level on points after next weeks midweek fixtures but they still have that game in hand against Everton. Personally I don't think that is a bad position because need to just be within a couple of points of them when we go there in early March.

Would love it if we could smash them but it's probably gonna be another tense match

Things I want for the match:

    Martial to score 2
The Matador to score 2 worldies
    Diallo to get his debut
    Bruno to score 2
    DvB to score 2
Maguire to core 1 from corner

    Manchester United 9 - 0 Sheffield United

    Just. Win.

Grind out results whilst City have this ridiculous run if fixtures.
City playing Sheffield and Burnley next, after playing Brighton, Palace and West Brom on top of Villa in the league. Oh and Birmingham and Celtenham in the cup. It's like City split the season in 50% bottom half teams and 50% top half teams.

City have not had a hard start to 2021.

We got Sheffield tomorrow, Arsenal on the emirates next week and Southampton at Old Traford next tuesday. Its absolutely a must that we win those 3 games, if we fall behind right now it would be really hard to catch City. They got Sheffield at home on the weekend and then Burnley away.

I think City wont slow down, they got KDB injured but luckily for them they have an easy schedule. I think they will easily win against Sheffield and Burnley.

Then on February 6th and 7th they go to Anfield and we receive Everton at Old Traford. I think they will lose points there. It sounds hard that we don't drop points considering the opponents were facing but if we manage to win all of those I think then the schedule will smile at us, since City will receive Spurs and go to the emirates to face Arsenal while we'll face West Brom and Newcastle.

I know Im getting way ahead, but I think this is were the title challenge will be defined. If we drop points in the next 7 days I think City will get far ahead and we wont catch them. So as I said, no matter how just get the bloody 3 points until City start playing against decent teams.
