I’d rest Cavani for Arsenal - didn’t look his sharpest yesterday

It’s a joke really, always a suspension or an injury at the back around the time we play you.
Yep definitely unlucky there - BTW how much of this poor form is it due to missing Jack O'Connell? I really rate him from whenever I watched you play last season.

I seem to remember your form collapsing then when he was injured for a bit too.

The Blades are woeful and many players, especially Rashford and Maguire, need a rest. I would go with:

    De Gea
    AWB - Bailly - Lindelof - Telles
    Matic - DVB
    Greenwood - Mata - James
    Martial

But I think Ole will play Bruno.

Aaah such a shame, really like what you boys have brought to the league and it’s a shame you will go down, hope you go down with some dignity and get some points on the board (not Wednesday though).
Thought the Newcastle result would be a turning point but then I saw our fixtures

Losing O’Connell meant we had to change how we play so of course it has impacted massively. He was due to be back soon but has suffered a setback recently so another blow.

I've not been looking forward to our games as much as I have in the past couple of months. Feels good to have our team back again!

I think Bruno needs to be rested for Arsenal. Matic and Pogba as the central pivot would work well. Don't know if we should risk Rashford for the full 90.
Bruno had his rest for 60 v Liverpool.

Positive man I am, I’m going to take Diallo’s Instagram post “Happy” with a couple of smiling emojis as him being told he’ll make the bench for the Sheff Utd game.

Worst prem team since Derby, so should be cannon fodder, but I'd start with the best we've got, then take Cavani, Bruno, and Pogba off as soon as it's 3-0.

Not sure why anyone thinks this is a suitable time to rest loads of players. We're desperate for 3 points and have been known to struggle against the worst of teams.

I'd go with our strongest possible team, albeit with Matic for his physicality and quick starting attacks.

Play the strongest team you can, which includes the bench. As I type, I’m watching Spurs struggle cos Jose had the stars in the stand and they are struggling. The PL title could come down to goal difference so we must put the likes of Sheffield Utd to the sword.

They'll be rotation, needs to be in such a busy schedule.

    Would let's say

De Gea, Matic, Martial, Telles, Bruno, Bailly for Henderson, Shaw, Lindelof, De Beek, McTominay, Rashford make the starting 11 much weaker than yesterday?

    ................Henderson..............

    AWB......Bailley.Tuanzebe.......Telles

    ...............Donny...Fred..................
    ....................Bruno.................
    Greenwood..........................James
    .......................Martial....................

This must be the game, where Solskjær mentioned that Diallo will be involved.

That's not really a weakened side, as such. I'm picturing something like this

    --------------de Gea
    AWB---Bailly---Maguire--Telles
    -----------Fred-----Matic
    Pogba---Bruno----Rashford
    -------------Cavani

That's resting one of our two most in form players, in Shaw. But I can't see us dropping Pogba against a deep defense. Bailly coming in for Lindelof is just a tactical adjustment, allowing us to push higher. Though I'd still be tempted to continue to play Shaw. But we've got to be careful with him, he really has been outstanding recently but he's of course injury prone.

Not sure we can afford to wait on Martial playing himself into form by having him start at the expense of players who offer a lot more currently, not least in terms of work rate.

I'll be surprised if Rashford is risked after the injury he picked up yesterday. Martial scored a hattrick in this fixture last season so this might be a good game for him to rediscover his goal scoring touch. Pogba for me needs to play in a central position on Wednesday.

This will be a tough game or we'll make it look tough. Start Bruno, Pogba and Cavani. Rest Rash, move Martial to the left or alongside Cavani.
    Move Telles in for Shaw.

Not going to be easy, yes they been shite but they will come at park the bus since minute 1. If we score the first then I can see us getting a lot more but until that first one gets in we're going to struggle.

I hope Bruno and Pogba show their magic again.

Great opportunity to rest a few but still get a win and keep up the challenge.

    ---------------------------De Gea------------------------
    AWB----------Bailly-----------Maguire----------Telles
    -----------------------Fred-----------Matic-----------------
    Greenwood----------Fernandes----------------James
    ------------------------------Martial----------------------------

Get Fernandes off nice and early. Also get Maguire off if the game is wrapped up.

Think this is more than enough to get a good result.

Every time I do these line ups i always get stuck on the RW position. It is an absolute glaring weakness. Hopefully Diallo can step up but it's asking a lot of him.

I keep changing my mind about who we should play, this is always a hard game so I’m not sure.

Matic 100% plays in games like this as he controls the tempo from deep.

I'd rest Pogba and Mctom as they both start against Arsenal IMO. That leaves either Fred or DVB. I'd play Donny but don't think Ole will.

I actually think Ole will probably play Pogba but we will see.

Does it require that much of a confidence to name a player among 9 substitutes?
Not really, but none of the players on the bench are there randomly, they all have a perceived role to play if they must be called upon.

And it’s more than a certainty that Diallo role is clear: to serve as an attacking reinforcement down the flank if the need arises :)

Oh for sure, I do hope that he gets a spot on the bench.

Overall, I'm just genuinely enjoying the feeling of a match day and expecting a win again.

I really don’t understand why people keep putting mata in their starting line ups on the wing! He was never useful for us there when he was first signed let alone now he’s 75. Love the little guy but I don’t think he should be starting prem games, and if he does it’s for Bruno with a free role.
Rashford Greenwood martial + pogba now can all rotate those wide areas and under drastic measures James

Would be nice to see diallo in the squad with a sub appearance if we get a couple goals ahead
