Since 2002, every single one of those managers has been sacked. If Liverpool had any balls, they'd do the same to Klopp:
Team | Season | Points drop off after 25 games | Manager's fate |
---|
Liverpool | 20/21 | -33 | ??? |
Leicester | 16/17 | -32 | Ranieri - sacked 13 February |
Chelsea | 15/16 | -29 | Mourinho - sacked 17 December |
Manchester United | 13/14 | -21 | Moyes - sacked 22 April |
Blackburn Rovers | 95/96 | -17 | Roy Harford - not sacked but resigned next season |
Chelsea | 10/11 | -14 | Ancelotti - sacked post season |
Chelsea | 06/07 | -12 | Mourinho - sacked 19 September |
Manchester United | 01/02 | -11 | Ferguson - not sacked |
The only exceptions in the table above are Harford and Fergie. In the case of the former, it can be excused because he was forced to sell Shearer to Newcastle. In the case of the latter, a drop off of 11 points is nowhere near as big as the scousers are currently suffering.
