Incredible by Hamilton to hold off Verstappen. Two fantastic drivers going for it in these cars is going to make for some season and it's exactly what F1 needs.

Fantastic end to the race. You have to hand it to Lewis to pull that off. Great battle.

Going forward i fancy Red Bull to win constructor this year, their pit crews are just miles ahead from Merc's in action and i just fancy Perez over Bottas, wheel to wheel Perez might just edge it over Bottas

Let's not forget what an outstanding drive from Lando Norris.

Yep top class today. It’s a shame mclaren isn’t that bit closer to the top 2 but what a solid drive

Perez is plain better than bottas imo

Depends on whether the red bull will be competitive on all tracks. Today they had the better car, but poor strategy and Hamilton being, well, Lewis fecking Hamilton, they still couldn't win

Wanted Max to win, but monster drive from Lewis.

By far the best driver in F1.

Nooooooooooooo. The fun is in Lewis having a lesser car.
This! It will be close between Lewis and Max but this is the best version of Lewis we are ever going see, he's going to bep ushing himself every race to stay ahead of Max.

Closer but not better, another day and Max takes that by 20 seconds.
Another day and Max would still be the same impatient guy who tries to force thing to early and still end up second.

It's how he's raced so far in his career. You can get away with that against most drivers when you've a much faster car but not against Lewis in a Mercedes.

Just for some perspective on talent, that’s Lewis 15th consecutive season with at least a race win. Unreal, I hope he drives for many more years because he’s box office.

Red Bull seemed to have the better car out of the two today and it'll be interesting to see how they look over different types of tracks. Let's hope one of the cars doesn't pull too far ahead in development as having these two go at it all season is going to be a great watch.

Strange what happened with Perez, broke down on the warmup then completed the entire race without further issues.

Agree, it depends on which track though but RB got better 2nd driver for now though

Well, if Max just a little bit patience a bit more he could just got it in the end but it shows how fecking good driver Lewis is.

Come on mate. Not by far. Verstappen and Hamilton are really close. Both extremely good.
Maybe so, but Lewis can perform under pressure like no one else. The man goes up levels when he needs it, Max today folded under pressure for me. But that's an important skill, pulling it when needed is what makes Lewis special.

Max had every advantage today, when it came down to it, Lewis out-raced him.

That is a very good point about Perez v Bottas. Might just tip the balance for the constructors championship.

Best driver won. He isn't a 7 time champion by accident. The greatest drivers win when they're not supposed to win

Why didn't they properly spray the champagne?

Wonder where Lewis puts all his trophies

The Philosophy.
I missed parts of the end. HAM showed a little more experience than VER today (for the overtake and next lap) and RBR lost a win but great for the season if pace remains similar.

Are there even any annoying Verstappen fans here for half the posts having to call out that the win means Hamilton is the greatest ever? I think he is, but not just because he won today.

Great drives from Perez and Norris.

Perez with a little less bad luck over a weekend will easily get ahead of Bottas more often than not.

I know it’s done before the end, but how salty are most F1 fans for not even voting Hamilton in top 3 drivers of the day.

I'll overlook the hyperbole. You do realise Lewis beats Max more times than not in the same car.
Overlook what you like, Red Bull is faster in clear air and if that gap doesn’t close then we won’t see races like we did today.

People are always desperate to declare the next generation as never-before-seen talents. I think it makes them feel better.

What an incredible finish, I can't believe Hamilton managed to win today, should have been an easy win for Max. They clearly had the superior pace over Mercedes this weekend.

If only Perez didn't have a shocking qualifying, him not putting any pressure on the Mercedes drivers definitely had an affect on the outcome of the race today.

But we don't even know how different tracks suit the different cars.... we've only had testing and racing at one track.

Take a look at the middle sector splits, of course it will vary track by track but it’s very clear Red Bull are currently ahead.

Mercedes rumoured to have a floor/diffuser update for the next race, I think either way it will be closer than it’s been before. At some point both of these will go for 2022 development instead but the closer it is the more it may hurt them both next year.
