Sums up Mane lately at the end there, obvious decision is to square it to Jota and decides to go himself.

Anyway, that's a relief and gives us hope for top 4. It was getting beyond a joke not winning at home, had to nip that in the bud.

Delighted Trent scored, keeps him in the team and makes Madrid massive favourites to rip him alive again and score a few goals.

If he didn't play well today, Milner would have played and been a better choice defensively

Please send Barkley back a.s.a.p.

Him not shooting when he was central and 20 yards out was a disgrace and then Liverpool score 30 seconds later.

Despite having 3rd/4th defence best defence in the league we're still going to finish bottom half ffs. That's the closest I'm getting to trusting xG anyway.

For a team with John Terry on it’s coaching staff, the lack of commitment by Villa’s players to get out to TAA and block that shot was unbelievable. Did they not watch the way Leeds put every fibre of their being into ensuring City could not score in the early game on the dressing room TVs or concourse or something? Cowardly by Ramsey and El Ghazi.

Like a Liverpool win from last season. 1-0 down less than convincing performance then they go on to win in injury time

With their easier run in they have no real excuses to not finish at least 4th now.

I thought Villa were rubbish up until it went 1-1 and then actually they were the better side.

Feel sorry for the keeper, two great saved rendered meaningless seconds later.

Villa players were fecking knackered to be fair. They gave everything. Liverpool wore them down like they do to most teams, except this time we decided to score some goals too. That's a novelty from us.

Well, as long as Chelsea and West Ham keep winning then it won't matter hopefully.

From here to there
If you'd offered me in November/ December when they were top that they'd be scratching for 4th on April 10th I'd have bitten your hand off.

I'm not.
I'm sure TAA was a guaranteed start. Milner wouldn't add much to their atrocious defence anyway.
A bit more courage from Villa and they could easily have won that.
Madrid won't be throwing away their advantage next week.

This result masks over your failings. Your back 5 looks woeful. If Arsenal has a forward like Watkins you would have conceded.

Yep agree with that. We were poor first half and it was daylight robbery to go in ahead. Liverpool had a brief flurry start of second half to get to 1-1 and then barely had another shot until the TAA goal.

Annoying with the Trez shot hitting the post and he also should've gone straight down as he would've got a penalty. Then Barkley acting like a clown with the late counter attacks we had.

Very frustrating not to get a point but Liverpool were well overdue a home win.

Unbelievable really. He had another poor game today and was unlucky not to concede a penalty. That's off the back of getting spanked by Real.

We all know he's good going forward but the issue at the moment is he simply isn't very good at defending at all.

I think Ross Barkley is one of the worst players in the league. Certainly one of the thickest.

It’s bizarre really. England are blessed in the attacking department. Having TAA won’t elevate that so much that’s it’s worth having his defensive issues too.

I didn’t realise a defender scoring a goal suddenly makes them a good defender. Is this fecking Garth Crooks Team of the Week logic or something?

Even when going forward though, he spams so many crosses that the majority of them are really poor. You look at that game today and most of the time he's not finding his man. He's actually quite wasteful. I just really don't rate him. Obviously he struck the ball well for the goal.

And yeah, defensively he's really not good. Which is what Neville was saying I think. He wasn't criticizing the attacking aspect of his game. So not sure what that bizarre outburst by Carragher was about.

I mean it's a fantastic goal. Trent has had a poor year as have Liverpool but the guy is a generational talent don't why so many on here get so upset. Some of the best full backs of all time have also gone through periods of questionable defending. Calos, cafu, maicon, evra etc etc all have looked poor defensively at times. But Trent's attacking play is a far bigger influence. Just make sure you have a couple good cbs which Liverpool have none at thr moment.

we dont want chelsea winning nor leicester. If they both drop points before our match tomorrow it takes the pressure of us.
Yeah, I didn't say Leicester. I want Chelsea and West Ham winning though.
