Pains me to say that but at the moment we can all hope that BoJo decides to turn that into a political stunt in order to prevent those clubs from joining the superleague.

Based that on this line from the Guardian: PSG’s reluctance to turn their back on Ligue 1 despite major issues with its new TV rights deal could be down to proposed stringent financial regulations in the new competition that would be similar to Uefa’s Financial Fair Play regulations.

Which sounds a lot like parity mechanisms to me. But who knows. Some more:

Bayern and Dortmund rule out Super League, PSG not committing to it (besoccer.com)
So this might be the *real* topic. Those clubs want PSG and City to be held accountable to their numbers and their accounting to be much more closely watched. If they get it that way, I am all in. Chelsea is in, which suggest that Chelsea is already able to cope with such stringent financial requirements.

30’points deduction for everyone but City. 80 points deduction for city for being oiled shitty
Not sure point deduction would be such a great idea though, gratifying though the thought is (even for United). Because it wouldn't exactly be a great argument for these clubs to shelve this and stick with the current leagues, or the CL they would not then qualify for. In fact, few things could be more certain to cause them to push ahead with this.

I don't think this is happening. They need to breakaway if they want to do it. Their suggestion there is silly.

Maybe the plan is to breakaway but look reluctant to? Or they aren't serious at all and it's bargaining bullshit. But I don't think that format is a remotely serious one.

Thought German clubs had rules that they owned only 49% while the fans owned 51

It's not as if threatening to cancel my season ticket will make any difference, as they only need some cnut in Singapore to stream the game via PPV to make my little stand moot. Feck off Glazers, you soulless, corporate fecks.

The announcement doesn´t say anything about relegations or a second division.
Would those solidarity payments be money that they would invest in the national leagues?

Lyrics for the Super League anthem have been released:

They are the best teams
They are the super teams
The main event

The master
The best
The super teams
The champions

I do not think german clubs can enter unless the members (supporters) vote in favor:

The 50+1 rule guards against this. In short, it means that clubs – and, by extension, the fans - hold a majority of their own voting rights. Under German Football League [DFL] rules, football clubs will not be allowed to play in the Bundesliga if commercial investors have more than a 49 percent stake. In essence, this means that private investors cannot take over clubs and potentially push through measures that prioritise profit over the wishes of supporters. The ruling simultaneously protects against reckless owners and safeguards the democratic customs of German clubs.

I honestly feel it's pointless watching us now, especially the EL.
