You're right, these heroes have saved the club. Let's build a statue at the training ground for them
No I've already messaged Joel Glazer to have a statue made of crossy1686 from the Caf who so proudly mocks his fellow fans whilst sitting on his arse situated in the very city the club is based.

You've achieved a lot today crossy, give yourself a big pat on the back.

No. They had a chance to make a stand but they messed it up.

Do you really think anyone called Joel Glazer to tell him some fans wrote something on a sheet that didn’t really mean anything at the training ground today?

Like hell they did.

My issue isn’t protesting the owners. It’s why protesting the owners had to be taken over by the same bunch of embarrassments that led the charge last time.

Sorry expecting a sign to be clear about the aims of the protest isn’t a high bar. It really isn’t. It’s an embarrassment and makes it harder to raise issues needed to be raised about our ownership as it stereotypes people who have issues with the owners as fools and that’s damaging and it helps the Glazers

This is what happened last time. Allowing morons to take centre stage in the case against the owners will be a repeat of 10 years ago and the outcome will be exactly the same.

So no not ‘fair play to them’, feck them.
Wow. Well done on the worst post of 2021 so far.

You've set a high bar there. Hope you enjoy the newbie status.

Not trying to die on anything, I'm questioning the rationality and effectiveness of going to a place where no one knew about a SL or agreed to take part in it and protesting with your mums bedsheets.
Would it have been better if they had fancy printed boards? Bed sheet does me fine, cheap and to the point, doesn’t need any sparkles on it.

Just remember @crossy1686 wanted the SL

So we've gone from questioning the efficacy of the protests, to straight up insulting the people protesting!

Local people, whatever their level of grammar are going to start going into training and other off limits places when there is no other dialogue apart from a horrible PR release that any intern could have penned. Think about it. What other fans haven't heard from their owners at all in any capacity about their plans for the club or anything else since 2005 and then SUPERLEAGUE... Oh no? Sorry about that lads. Jokes on us.

I totally understand their dismay and fully appreciate their right to protest. If your whole gripe is against the people at the centre of the protest then why not go and do it better yourself or try and be constructive instead of taking the piss? Today was just the start so I’m sure there’ll be plenty of opportunities for you to join in but If that’s not your bag then at least don’t criticise those who actually act.

Almost as much as you I guess? The champion of the people, doing the rounds on forums defending a group of plebs for disrupting our match day preparation because they're angry and don't know how to direct it. This place recently has been embarrassing. You say anything that isn't inline with the angry man narrative and you get shit from people who can't even be bothered to have a debate, and instead just resort to shit posting, this post here being exhibit A.

On a serious note, if we don't win our next game who's to blame? What exactly did the protest today do? What will be the fallout? How has it helped? The only response to these questions so far is "good for them".

Better stick their Blue Peter badges in the post seeing as you're their rep now.

Maybe if we all could finally figure out our owners’ correct name, we could present a more unified front against them?

Now on the bolded, I'd actually agree with you on this point usually. However you've chosen to ridicule fellow fans who have had a peaceful protest and made the general discontent of the fans known.

No matter how small you think the impact will be it's immeasurably more than you (and YES me) have done today.

It's more than a tad rich to be claiming others of sh*t posting when you've been churning out this unwarranted negativity towards the only group of fans in the entire country who have done anything to make our feelings known about this ownership since the SL nonsense.

I mean at the very least they've done no harm, they haven't been violent or overly aggressive, so why are you calling them 'brainless idiots with bedsheets' ? More to the point, why do you think you can say that on a United forum and not gain a negative response.

I think you need a kip and a fresh mind for this one. Tomorrow make sure you put those bedsheets to good use though eh!

If they had two braincells to rub together they'd have gone and protested outside of the companies that sponsor United. Want to hit the Glazers where it hurts? Give the sponsors bad PR and affect their stock prices, not turn up at the training ground and actively harm the players chances of preparing for a game this week.
Considering the attention they got in the media, I don´t think "brainless" is a covering term.

Looks like Red issue has some issues on his own...
Stupid to make an issue about Guardiola and Klopp spoken against the super league and Ole not.

Everyone knew which way the wind was blowing from the first hour the plan was released. Guardiola and Klopp are of course clever enough to realise they had nothing to loose by doing a commercial stunt. It was an easy win which means nothing to me.

Everyone knows Super League represents the opposite of Ole’s values and ideas about football, and I’m also pretty sure Ole told Ed Super League was a bad idea.

I also think it’s fair and professional to keep hard critique of “own” personnel behind closed doors.
Why should Ole criticise Ed in public when he already resigned? Why should he criticise the owners when they stepped out of the deal? Ole is not a person who try to benefit or promote himself at the expense of other people, especially when they have hit the ground.

Even though we don’t like the Glazers, everyone who love United benefit from a good collaborative climate between Ole, Ed and the owners.

 Alright, seeing as you agreed to meet me in a civil debate I'll concede that calling them idiots or plebs was unfair and unwarranted, but like most around here I'm frustrated with what is going on right now as much as the next person and I really feel like the protest today didn't help, it only hindered. I understand that some people feel the need to act out and go to the training ground for answers but I still feel like there's something to play for this season and our squad need all the help and support they can get. What really fecked me off actually was the Red Issue making shit up, and that wouldn't have happened if these lads hadn't of gone to the ground. You can guarantee that there's a good section of people on here who will believe that because it fits what they already think.

Anyway, we can all do our part if we continue to boycott United products, it's not much but it's something. People can also hit me up with a DM if they are interested in becoming a pirate, if you know what I mean. ;)

Ole was pretty much thrown under the bus last weekend with the news emerging on that day we played, Klopp and Pep had time to digest the news and prepare for the inevitable question. I think Ole will be keen to draw a line under it tomorrow and concentrate on the rest of the season.

While there are conflicting narratives of what happened, there are also reports suggesting that Woodward was not a fan of the SL.

Exactly. What Red Issue are saying today is total bollocks and they've seized their moment to divide a camp.

There's no way Solskajer said that today, not a chance. Even if privately he truly believe's Joel 'loves the club' there's no way he said that to those lads today. Would you walk up to a pack of wolves and ask them if they've considered going vegan? Some people seem to think Solskajer's actually stupid, like brain dead stupid. I know some pretty stupid people but all of them have a survival instinct, and they wouldn't walk up to a crowd of angry people and tell them exactly what they don't want to hear.

Yes. However, those really don't make any sense at all.
It´s possible, though. Woodward is employed by the Glazers and pretty much has to do what they ask him to do. But who knows. And while Woodward has not been a great "sports director" (but good otherwise), we should also be open for the possibility that he´s not a demon. In fairness, just.

Not only that, but he must have stood there for minutes talking to them. What did he say? Convenient to leave the rest out.

It makes no sense that he would plot the whole thing in a leading role for years, while being against it and all, only to then resign the very moment it fails. No sense at all.

Do we know that as a fact? Honest question.

Worth mentioning that no manager has spoken out against their owners.

There was a meeting in New York a while ago between United's and Liverpool's owners (and a representative from Arsenal too, IIRC) where this Super League idea was discussed. I don't remember exactly when this was - but it was a fair while ago.

Woodward was present at that meeting - as you'd expect. It seems obvious that he was in the loop from day one. And - as you say - it makes very little sense that he was actually dead set against the idea all along.
