Most overrated PL player of all time.

Real Madrid have been mugged off well and proper.
Not to that degree. He was really great for Chelsea and I honestly quite enjoyed watching him as a player back them despite playing for a rival club. Always feared him whenever we played them.

They just managed to get rid of him in the perfect time.

Yep, agree with everything. This isn't the same player. Just some dude jogging around in Hazard shirt.

Can't believe Real spent 100M on him. He gave his prime years to Chelsea.

His acceleration is totally gone. Barely a shadow of the player he was on tonight's form.

You mean getting extremely overweight and struggling to get back into shape every summer affects your longevity?

Hazard laughing at the end with the Chelsea players. I just think he moved to Madrid for retirement; not sure he is even interested in football.

He’s been so poor but Madrid as club are at the end of an impossibly successful cycle. They are missing those few prime players and their core is old but you can’t move them on easily either. An unfit Hazard was never going to be enough to raise them. They need to find the next guys and bring the age of the team down again. I can see Haaland mbappe Camavinga those sort of players going to Madrid and starting the next domination.

Yeah I don't want to psychoanalyse too much, but being so casual about losing after the performance he showed tonight doesn't reflect well on his ambition. Other Madrid players have won this trophy so many times that you imagine they can live with not winning it, but still you don't see them being that cheery.

I can understand being happy for your former team mates, but seeming so carefree after a lacklustre performance like that must be annoying for Real Madrid supporters and even his current team mates.

I don’t get this? How is he overrated? Ya he’s been shit at Madrid, doesn’t mean he was overrated during his time in England. He was brilliant at Chelsea.

Agreed, he was brilliant in the PL. but he’s terrible now. He’s just not interested. He’s overweight, perennially injured, and just ambles around the pitch doing nothing. He looks fit for MLS already.

Can see him ending up in Germany or Italy soon if he doesn’t improve next season

Seemed like one of the Madrid suits came over to Hazard while he was joking around and he suddenly went into sombre mode

I agree. I thought he’d shine at Madrid, how wrong I was.

Honestly I think the fact that he carried Chelsea many times when they were struggling really plays into the nostalgia. He was great but I do think he's a bit overrated when some say he's one of the PL's best ever.

He was a very good player with flashes of brilliance, yet for some reason at times he was mentioned in the same breath as Messi and Ronaldo especially by sections of the media and Chelsea fans. He is absolutely stratospheres below them, and wasn’t even close. At best he was at the level that Son currently is at Spurs.

He’s been massively found out.

Deep down, he’s doing what I wished Ronaldo turned out to be. A fecking massive flop for them.

Talent of Neymar but also his workrate. You can't judge him om his performances, he's coming back from injury but looks like he needs much more time. Curious what the idiot of Martinez will do if he isn't in better chape at the euros

Neymar is easily more talented than Hazard.

They're not and have never been on the same level.

With Hazard it’s always been about attitude. He had the talent but not the ambition to go with it. He was happy to coast - he got by at Chelsea in his prime years, but after injuries and age started to catch up, he simply didn’t have the motivation to stay on top.

Not really surprised knowing Hazard. Had all the talent in the world to kick on and become an all time great but lacked the mental cutting edge. Still one of the best to ever play in the PL, mind, but he could have gone down as an all-timer.

Don't think anyone mentioned him seriously in the same breath as Messi and Ronaldo, unless it was to say that he needs to improve to get to that level. I would argue that on the basis of pure talent alone, he wasn't far off them two but what he lacked was the drive and indomitable will to be the best and that has accelerated his decline.

The problem is how much more time has he got? It's his 2nd season and he has only played 28 games for Real, total. A lot of money to invest in a player who they hope comes good in his thrid season.

Definitely going to be the most hated player in Madrid. Since signing for them in 2019 he's scored a grand total of four goals in all competitions. Really annoying how Chelsea (and Liverpool) get so much money for their players.

Why does he look so fecking happy ? I mean, his old teammates and all but I swear it looks as if he has qualified to the final with them.

Awful mentality.

I mean when you get your 'dream transfer' and you turn up overweight in pre-season, it says it all.

Remember him saying when he's on holiday, he's on holiday. Chelsea indulged him. Lampard called him an awful trainer. He doe not have the mentality for the very top.
A guaranteed 100m for a player like him with one year on his contract is a scandal.

Exactly what I was thinking aswell. Gonna be interesting to see if he can bounce back to his level he had at Chelsea, but it doesnt look promising does it. RM will probably do everything in their power to replace him with Mbappe this summer or next because we all know that theyre a team that expects to win titles every single year.
