Stupid and very unfair move from PL administration.

Because of the heavy schedule I’m afraid we will loose the second place. Some people don’t care if we end up nr.2 or nr.4. To me it means a lot, because people very fast forget why we eventually ended up nr.4.

Ole haters will start to claim we haven’t improved and example start arguing: “Look what Rodgers is able to do with Leicester, they are beating us even though the have lower budget and worse squad than us”, and here we go again:nervous: I hoped for more calm working conditions for Ole next season, which I think most of us will benefit from (titles).

You are hereby warned;)

We’ve got one of the biggest squads in the league without throwing junior players under the bus. This is conceivably our second XI, not using our XI key players:

DDG
Williams Tuanzebe Bailly Telles
VDB Matic
Greenwood Mata (James)
(Martial)
:0) you are right! Hope Ole play with two teams instead of mixing up every match to rest three or four...

I think a lot will depend on the result against Villa. If we win that and presumably win against Fulham a week later that should be enough for 2nd place anyway. Make changes against Leicester and full strength for Liverpool.

It's crap and all and very unfair but there's only a few weeks left in the season and we get to watch United every few days,

Bring it on

Who cares, use the squad Ole.

We’ve got players on the bench earning millions a year, use them.

Need only one win practically for CL. Need to somehow beat Villa. Only West Ham from chasing teams outside top 4 currently can reach 70 points and they have considerably worse GD than us. Plus I doubt they will win all 4 remaining games. Top 2 will be great though. Villa, Fulham and maybe a point at Wolves can give 2nd.

Got 90 yesterday. Didn’t do himself any favours.
He certainly didn’t! A real shame really, you can tell the technical quality is there, but it’s the mental side of his game that is letting down at the moment. Goes through large spells of games going seemingly unnoticed. He needs to impose himself in games a lot more, which I think can only be fixed by regular minutes!

Ole and staff have to think long and hard about who plays what here. No Martial or James avail either....

Seems Ole is strongly hinting towards putting out our B team in one of the matches, most probably Leicester.

Especially when he says its not his problem if this will affect CL qualifications for the other teams around.

I'm 100% sure he wont put out a weakened side against Liverpool, and Aston Villa is the best bet to get the necessary 3 points.

What would be a B side anyways? We don't have enough attackers unless we play at least a young player with Martial and James injured

Williams Bailly Maguire Telles
McTominay Matic
Mata VdB Amad?
Greenwood

Definitely Leicester. Our game after Liverpool is on a Tuesday so we can do Villa/Liverpool/Fulham normally, Leicester game is fecked schedule wise. Full B team. Probably vs Leicester:
De Gea
Williams Bailly Tuanzebe Telles
McTominay Matic
Greenwood Van de Beek James
Martial
Assuming Martial will be fit, but unsure. If not, Mata in and Greenwood up top.
And vs Liverpool:
Henderson
Wan Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Shaw
McTominay Fred
Rashford Bruno Pogba
Cavani

Play full strength against Aston Villa. If we win that game we are more less secured 2nd position. Then play B side against Leicester and ply full strength against Liverpool.

Hopefully we see Mejbri, Amad and Elanga getting some game time

He mentioned that Maguire probably wont get 100% PL minutes in the same article, so im guessing Tuanzebe + Bailly.

Will be a bloodshed against an in-form Icheanacho and Vardy

Really dont have an issue helping Leicester getting top 4 if I had to choose between all the contenders though. As long as they dont nick 2nd that is.

In fact, it is simple. We only need 2 wins to secure Top 4, so the only game that matter is May 26. If we can beat Villa this week, and possibly the deflated Fulham, the rest is down to strategic thinking. Do you fancy 3 points to Leicester or 3 points to Liverpool.

The most important thing is to avoid injuries imo, and its a bigger strain on the first team players to play sunday-tuesday than sunday-thursday.

Even if we just one win match from here and have four losses, West Ham would have to win out and overturn an extra 11 goal difference (allowing for the minimum goal difference shifts from wins and losses already). It is not worth panicking about.

That’s what Ole implied to me he might do in the presser, he knows the Liverpool game is far more important.
Definitely, even if we lose against Leicester we could be 7 points above them so it doesn't really matter, yeah a bad score line doesn't look good but could be good for some of the youngsters to get a run out

For me, this is an absolute no brainer.

You play your best XI against Villa as this is our game in hand so the 3 points would put us at 70 which is 12 above West Ham, 14 above Spurs. These three points would all but assure that we finish in the top 4. We would only need 1 point from our remaining 4 fixtures to guarantee CL qualification for next season.

You play your second XI against Leicester on Tuesday and your best XI against Liverpool on Thursday. Put that final nail in the scousers coffin on Thursday and put them in the Europa next season.

Over four games, you play:

Lindelof - Maguire
Bailly - Maguire
Bailly - LIndelof
Lindelof - Maguire

Lindelof and Maguire each get a game off, but you always have at least one, but... If you must give Hendo a break, it's when you have both of them on the field.

After yesterday not sure what game you can play Bailly? Agree for sure not this weekend. Need the 3 points to take any pressure off. Is Tuanzabe healthy? If so play him over Bailly.

Yes agreed - literally put out the B team against Leicester
that's what I've taken from Ole's comments in his press conference from last night, we'll put out our usual side against Villa and Liverpool (as that's the usual Sunday/Thursday routine) but Leicester will be heavily changed

v Villa (Sunday)
-----------------Henderson-----------------
AWB--Lindelof--Maguire--Shaw
-----McTominay-----Fred-----
Greenwood--Bruno--Pogba
------------------Rashford------------------

v Leicester (Tuesday)
-------------------De Gea-------------------
Williams--Bailly--Tuanzebe--Telles
------------VDB---------Matic------------
James--------Mata--------Martial
------------------Cavani------------------

v Liverpool (Thursday)
-----------------Henderson-----------------
AWB--Lindelof--Maguire-- Shaw
-----McTominay-----Fred-----
Greenwood--Bruno--Pogba
------------------Rashford----------------

Only issue is James missed last night through injury and who knows if Martial will be ready by Tuesday but silver lining might be that we see Amad

Fulham is week on Tuesday so that'll take care of itself but I expect heavily changed again against Wolves on the final day with The EL final 3 days later

Actually, you could take my schedule and flip it inside out, playing Bailly against Villa and Fulham. Neither have anything to play for, so I don't see that much pressure.

Losing against Leicester is not ideal but I'd prefer that than letting livrpool take 3 points off us
