I don't think Bvb are demanding 120m euro. Otherwise there would be reports already that Bvb haven't lowered their demand this year

Its not a proper transfer thread without title updates and threadmarks. Someone sort it out!

For players involved with the Euro or a World Cup -
How likely is it to announce a transfer during the Euros?
In fact, how likely is it for big transfers even taking place during a big tournament like Euro or World Cup?

I can’t think of many examples where a deal is announced mid-tournament. It’s just unnecessary pressure on the player isn’t it. Plus, unnecessary media attention that the National team’s manager would dislike.

I could see it being announced before the games begin, pending a medical, etc... not during. Lots of activity yesterday and today.
Might be announced within a couple of days. Then he can be focused on the Euro's. BvB might have other ideas.

If we combine this thread with last seasons, is it the biggest transfer thread in RedCafe history? I know some of the historic threads reached ridiculous numbers.

I don't know, in the past days there were some reports/leaks that said you'd be willing to pay that. If so, then this deal gets through. I also thought it was unlikely after it seemed Corona really stressed you financially last year but those pieces of information suggested you could pay it.

No way. Dortmund won't sell a penny under what they demanded. Apparently the 80M € that circled around came from the fixed sum Dortmund want to earn themselves. It seems that if they get 94M € up front, 14M € will go to City immediately. To me it seems most likely that they ask for 94M € before bonuses and 115M to 120M € after bonuses.
So you're saying that the price hasn't dropped at all from last year?

I would imagine they'll either announce it tomorrow or it will be after the Euros.

No way the club exposes itself to accusations of disrupting the England team by announcing it while they are in the tournament itself.

Still. Sanchon.

According to whom? We will find out soon i guess but I would be shocked if there's any truth behind the above figures.

Of course it has. Last year it seemed to be 120M up front. Now it is 94M up front and around 20-25M in bonuses of varying probabilities. Assuming 5M are bound to ambitious conditions, you're 5-10M below. Add to that the inflation and interests and you probably get 10-15M € less.

Personally, I thought the transfer was likely yesterday but this news has actually made me reconsider. If it is true, you're most likely still far off. I guess one shouldn't give too much on media reports and stay a bit more relaxed.

Can't help the feeling that these elaborate calculations would look quite different if it was Bayern signing him, not United.

I don't see what the hold up is. Now personal terms are agreed, lets hash this out with Dortmund. We know they need to sell and we go up to £80m, this £80+20 talk is not realistic when we have other positions to fill.

So true. I maintain this is just the BVB guy trying to look tough because for once he can.

It's easy, they wouldn't sell him to Bayern. Them getting involved would be the best scenario for you because they'd probably beg you to sign him. I'd probably stop watching Bundesliga for a season or two if they actually landed Sancho. Seriously, I'd be pissed at United if you guys allow Bayern a free run at him.
