Day 2: Wales vs Switzerland | Denmark vs Finland | Belgium vs Russia

Such a huge relief to hear this news. Massive praise to the medical team and referee Anthony Taylor.

Disgraceful if this match continues. Players will be out of their minds right now, and nobody on the stands will be able to enjoy it properly either, after all they witnessed.
They played a European Cup final after Juventus fans died at the stadium.

I think they need to have a discussion with both teams and see if they are ready to go on or not.

That was his own teams 2 medics. The stadium docs and equipment didn't get there for what felt like ages
They put him in the recovery position when his heart wasn't beating then waited for the medics! Should have started CPR sooner.
I guess they didn't know they were needed until the team doctors called them over. I still don't think their response was bad though.

it took 1 minute and 49 seconds for the actual medics to get to him which is pretty damn quick considering he was on the opposite side of the pitch and they didn't know to come straight away
Only that long? Felt like a lifetime watching it. He seemed to be in that recovery position for an age

If he's in stable condition, don't see why not?

It's not easy to move matches around in a tournament like this.

Moving fixtures by a day or two will cause chaos for fans who may have travelled to these games.

Because both players wouldn't really be in the mood to play immediately after seeing such thing happening in front of them ?

Players are human, they aren’t robots. They’re all going to be shaken from what happened.

But he should have went through these tests several times in his career not just once or twice. It's a possibility, but I think it's highly unlikely, or that's what I'm hoping.
They do the tests at the preseason or after a move to another club as a routine medical. I was involved in a case where player in big Club had to end his career because of a congenital heart condition and he just did not accept it, I felt sorry for him. It was discovered in a preseason routine test.

Phew, positives signs at least. Still furious about the coverage. This is not only disrespectful to Eriksen himself, his family and his team but also to the first responders who were fighting for his life.

Nobody wants to be in their shoes, believe me. Had to perform PCR myself (thankfully the person regained his breathing even before the ambulance arrived) a couple of years back and some teenage punk tried to film the scene on his phone. Thankfully after I screamed at him to get the phone away another bystander ripped it out his hands and smashed it on the ground. Some people just have no shame.

Kudos to you and everyone who ever had to go through this. Was just telling my gf: I would never want to be in the situation to perform PCR. Horrible.

I think the Danish team might just withdraw from.the tournament. Ask the players what they want but might just be a good idea for everyone to be with their loved ones and away from football for a bit.

I don't think (of course, I don't know), Ericsson wouldn't want that.

Sounds like quite a few broadcasters fecked up, seems like a chain of cock ups starting with UEFA.

Danish broadcasters were showing a hawkeye shot of the outside of the stadium throughout the entire thing. They cut away the second they realised it was so serious.

This is my point. People need to get out of the mindset a medic needs to do CPR. Anyone can! Basic life skills that could help you save someone in the street or a loved one.

They shouldn't have been waiting for the medics to come over. The team staff should have been able to identify the issue and start on the CPR. If they aren't trained for that then questions need to be asked.

England cancel media presentation, will the Belgium game go ahead?

Is that you Sepp?

I thought they were quick considering the ground they had to cover (under two minutes).

They were certainly fast enough to revive and stabalize him anyway.

We had the famous case here in Egypt of Mohammed Abd El-Wahab, who died of a sudden heart attack during training. I think he was a case of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

I think this was the worst thing I've seen on live television in my life. The way they zoomed in on his face and then the cpr.

Yes, he's not dead so why not continue?

It's very sad what happened but he wouldn't want the whole tournament to be cancelled.

Hard to know what will happen. The players might be so distressed, bit in the same vein, they might want to go out and play the game for him.

If the news was less positive, it definitely wouldn't be going ahead. I think the final decision will be left to each camp to decide what they want to do.

Does awake mean he's fine?

Like, can he relapse as such or should he be ok now?

They successfully revived him whats the problem? The medics involved did a good job. I'm not going to sit here and slate them they literally saved his life today.

I heard on here that the Dutch did the same. I've heard reports from other countries where they saw everything. One person on here in Portugal said they showed replays of it.

Can't vouch for all these reports but it seems that some broadcasters dropped a bollock and others acted sensibly.
