Boring but controlled display from England. The lead means they don't have to do anything other than keep possession and defend and that's what they are doing. Any potential danger seems to be self inflicted (Walker). At some point Ukraine will push for it and then space should open up for the second goal.

Anyone could get this England team into a solid unit. Hand the job to big Sam. He should be doing a hell of a lot more when you've got players like Kane, Sancho, Grealish etc. Not squeezing past teams playing painfully dull football.
Shaw always looks more impressive than his winger regardless of who is there. The sign of a world class full back.
Surprised at how passive this England team are being. I know Ukraine are a bit shit, but they have a some threat upfront and you never know what happens. England should really go at them a bit more.

Walker has been awful, telling that everything good Ukraine has done has come down his side.
He's also the reason why we've swapped Sancho over to the LW, so he has Shaw overlapping and taking a defender away, Walker wasn't affording him that space so they showed Sancho on the outside everytime.

He's been a bit uncharacteristically sloppy at times but he's levels above Walker in terms of what he brings to the side in building passages of play, as evidenced by that half. Walker is fecking inept and not contributing at all. Does make me wonder about how Sancho will fare with AWB..
How does it matter? Winning is all that counts in a tournament.
Ukraine have sat with a flat back 5 with holding midfielders in front for most of the half, so not much space to get into.
England need to step it up a gear second half though
