Is he clearly our best player when it comes to comparision with other best players in the world in their position? We cannot say for anyone in our squad that they are one of the best in the world in their position, and he quite clearly is.
Yeah he is as close to complete in his position which none of our other players come close to. Difference between him and Evra is Evra can dribble better and Luke as the delivery

I'm not sure if Evra is clearly the better dribbler

Shaw's ball-carrying is incredible

England win Quarter Final, Shaw is now better than Evra whilst Maguire is everything Vidic was. . .

These lads were both on the pitch whilst we sh*t the bed against Spurs, Leipzig & Instanbul last season & Shaw played every minute of a Villarreal catastrophe.

It would be quite nice for players to do something of note for the club [credit to Shaw he’s won a Europa League] before we start mentioning them in the same sentences as players who played key roles in multiple championships.

That said, Shaw has been phenomenal for some time now & watching the players congratulate him as he was coming of today really shows his standing in the squad/the game. Given his career defining injury & mismanagement under José it’s a credit to his character that he’s reaching the levels he currently is.

Greatest of all time potential if he keeps it up. Go ahead and laugh, but I can say with 100% certainty that he's got the talent. I have never seen such a combination of technique, physique, consistency, and productivity from a player in this position before.

The greatest sportsman of all time >> Ali, Jordan, Messi, Gretsky, Lebron, Federer, Bolt, Pele, Woods, Ronaldo, all of your heroes. None of them compare to King Luke.

What a turn around. What a turn around having confidence in your abilities, being told you are worthwhile does to a player.

It depends on what you're rating.

Evra had bags of confidence, skills and would regularly stand his player up in tight spaces. It meant whenever Evra took a pass under pressure, he would usually keep it to feet and we could progress up the pitch as the opposition wouldn't press him.

Shaw has good feet and dribbling ability when it comes to taking the ball off some movement (one-two, transition etc) or when there is a bit of open space. However, in tight spaces one of the few criticisms I have of him is that he doesn't use his right foot enough to open the angle and back passes when the opposition closes in. Sometimes he will decide to go for it and take the player out of the game with a couple of deft touches but a lot of the time he choses to play it safe.

I think the best example is to compare his 'dribbling' to Marcelo. The later is more comfortable in tight spaces, taking players on from a standing still start etc, which is was Evra was like. More winger-esque.

Mourinho will tell you that his reverse psychology on Shaw worked wonders and Manchester United should thank him for his brilliance.

Evra has better flair, but if I have to pick one, I'd pick Shaw.

His technique is so assured, nothing nonsensical.

A little obviously for just trusting and believing in him... but this is Shaw. This is carrying on the trajectory he was going in before the leg break. After seeing that and all the stuff in between (weight, form, Mourinho, etc) it's great to see how he's playing now.
Well to take that gamble and trusting Shaw from the get go needs some tremendous recognition.

You go back to his performances threads before, everyone wanted him gone, needs a new left back.

Ole could've just ignore Shaw and play Telles week in week out.

The coaching staff clearly helped him flourish, it's not just because of him and potential, it's not simple as that.

He's a top 3 LB in the world right now for me.

1. Mendy
2. Davies
3. Shaw
Stop basing your opinions on FIFA stats. Mendy missed a lot of games in the second half of the season and is currently out with a serious injury. Davies has been dogshite for Bayern this season and dropped.

Roberto Carlos congratulated Luke on IG - real recognize real
That would do his confidence more good, he's been fantastic all season long, I'm glad he plays for us, What an engine he's got, constantly runing down that left hand flank, opposition managers would start drawing up a containment "shaw up" plan for next season that's what I'll do if i were them, hopefully they don't and hopfully he stays fit to keep performing like this.

Absolute baller last night, such a classy and quality performance. To think it seemed like Chilwell might have been getting the nod from Southgate for this tournament

Think Chilwell still might of gotten the nod had he not had to isolate.

All the R.Carlos comparisons with the legend himself complimenting Shaw. All we need now is for him to score a thunderbolt of a screamer.

He had injuries that he said multiple times were really tough for him but credit to Ole I think his style of management fits Luke's personality. Maybe all Luke needs is a manager that trusts and encourages him rather than having a dutch weirdo manager or a manager that considers him an enemy. What a surprise. Now you only see confidence in him and long may it continue. Still 25 and a lot of room for growth.

The BBC player ratings, voted for by viewers, gave Shaw an average of 6.64, making him England's 9th best player, out of the 13 who got on the pitch.

Bonkers.
They hate us, whats new? Even when Beckham was carrying the shitty players around him they managed to spit bile on him.

I have been horribly wrong about hundreds of football predictions, but I have never been more right when I objected highly to Mourinho being appointed our manager. I am so happy he didn't break Shaw to the point of no return - or sold him. Now we see how good he really is when he gets a manager and coaches who actually want him to do well.

All I said is the bulk of the credit should go to Shaw. Didn't say Ole deserves none. Credit where its due... Shaw is inspirational!

I thought he was done at United, it shows what a difference a manager or coach can make with belief. Who knows where Shaw would be if we give up on him and his confidence takes another hit.

It's great...people actually asking questions like "does he play like that for United?"

If we had Cavani available for the majority of games, or a striker like Kane...Shaw would probably put up Trent numbers for assists.

Shaw brilliant, the player before that injury is back. Confidence is a big thing. Hopefully Ole can do the same with Martial

99% of credit goes to the player himself.

Its not just that.
Every time Luke had the ball in the left end side and wanted to cross it - no one from our players entered inside the box to be in the end of it. That's why his assists stats were lower than they have should of been.

was a real sliding doors moment wasnt it?

I shudder to think what the team would be like if Mourinho was still here now.

I was wondering some time ago what kind of player Becks will be in modern game, because for sure he would not be a winger and i am pretty sure he would make a fantastic wingback and Shaw showed me yesterday how that would work.

that chill during that 2nd assist was perfect
