If we have a chance to sign this young talent we would be foolish not to do so especially after the Bellingham situation. You can't pass up on kids like Camavinga who have shown that much promise at such a young age for a decent price tag. His value will double within the next 2-3 years just like Bellingham's will.

Mctominay is a mourinho product. He was already around the first team. For a while before ole. Ole has literally run Bruno into the ground refusing to play youngsters or even a signing from last year. Whether it be due to trust or stupidity is irrelevant, his squad rotation has been awful
A sizeable chunk of the forum will agree re the rotation - completely aside from the kids aspect.

Any particular youngsters in mind who should have played more?

I'm inclined to agree with you but I think this coming season will really show whether he trusts academy players. We have a number coming through who should be getting game time. If Mata and Matic take their minutes I'll be really annoyed. Can't believe we have extended Mata tbh.
The Garner and Elanga bulking videos have had me wondering. Each by itself didn't seem like much, but together I'm wondering whether they might have been told to bulk up with perhaps a promise of being on the fringe/getting games.

Wouldn't they have done this irrespective of our plans for them this season? It is probably a fairly routine part of getting them ready for men's football. I am sure it's all done in conjunction with the sports scientists.

It would seem weird that they suddenly chuck them in front of some dumbbells because Ole has said they may be good enough to be round the squad, everything should be planned better than that.

Particular phrase to note: "Each by itself didn't seem like much".

Need to get Varane deal sorted first, then it'll be onto this one. Although I do think we'll need to make some sales first.
Yeah absolutely certain any CDM/CM is a complete no go until we have sold some players first

Just said that it’s not linked to the future of Pogba. In fact nothing is going on with Pogba as it stands.

I can't see him going for anymore than £35m. The more the days go by, the more the value will decrease IMO.

If we got him for around 30m Euros I'd piss directly into my own eyes. Too good to be true sure.
And Judas said to the rabble, if the young one comes here to me, for my thirty pieces of silver, I will climb that mountain and hang from it's highest ledge, and with this flaccid thing of mine will I urinate into mine own eyes and rejoice for there is rapture.

big surprise!

would be an excellent addition and a proper footballer, not just a defensive blocker.

even if we don't get all of them (and there's still a very good chance we won't get any of them), it's very comforting that we seem to target the "right" players and the right positions this summer. Sancho made a lot of sense, Varane would be a no-brainer, Camavinga would make a ton of sense too. Trippier as well.

To be fair, he may be on to something. I did that once in my teens when I was experiencing particularly chronic conjunctivitis symptoms. Tried all sorts of eye drops, which only offered temporary relief, so out of desperation, I decided to try the age old rumoured remedy. Worked a peach! Pain and itchiness went away instantly, and then the next morning all the redness had disappeared.

Apologies for taking the convo off course with that weird fact btw! ;)

I think people are forgetting how young he is.

Could be great in the future but don't expect him to come in and be the next Keane/Carrick/whoever.

Agreed, but he would certainly offer a long term option instead of Fred

quite experienced for his age too. 67 Ligue 1 games plus 4 each in EL and CL ... that's pretty crazy for an 18 year old.

I really do think the best thing to do with Pogba is risk losing him on a free.

Ok it might sound crazy and it might backfire but I just think we could try complete the rebuild this summer.

Get in a starting CB and CDM and then the team would be very very good.

I'd fancy our chances of Pogba wanting to stay.

The only way I'd sell Pogba this summer is if we signed a CDM and another top Midfielder

That won't happen so I say go BOLD and risk it.
