Probably will sign him if Pogba is leaving otherwise we are too stocked up in CM Pogba, Fred, Scott, Matic, VDB.

However I wouldn't really be happy if he is Pogba replacement. We need a top quality midfielder to replace Paul or its taking a step back.
His fee is €30m we don't need to sell Pogba to get him even Fabrizio has said it's an independent deal. If Pogba leaves we'll sign someone else SEPARATE from Camavinga

Never understood the argument for we have X, Y & Z so we shouldn't add another... when a player like this becomes available (especially for the rumored price) you have to try and make it happen.

I don’t think we'll sign him - he just doesn’t seem like the sort of player that we’d sign.
Wouldn't even be the first highly rated young African-born defensive midfielder we've bought after a couple of good seasons for a midtable side in the French league.

What does that mean. I'm so confused how people don't see this lad as a typical Utd signing! is it because he's not English?
Highly rated yet doesn't cost a bomb. The sort of bargain buys Bayern make.
When was the last time we signed a bargain potential superstar?
Not saying its a bad thing, its a step in the right direction when we buy young talent we spend way too much on them like Amad or Martial

Why is Amad included in this?

How can you say we've spent too much on Amad, bit bloody early to say that isn't it? or is he already a flop?
Yeah, 19m isn't a lot. Martial was also initially 36m which is similar to what Bayern spent on Renato Sanches.

I was thinking the same thing . Amad may turn out to be an absolute steal he is still very young no way anyone can judge him on a couple of months at United . I would have thought the purchase of Amad and Pellistri falls more in line with snapping up Camavinga too as we try to Vacuum up the emerging superstars .

Really? That's fantastic. Is he looking to be a starter? I don't think he'd get ahead of Fred or Pogba(or his replacement)

Thats not the point. He might turn out to be world class but he's clearly 2 seasons away from playing regularly in the first team let alone becoming a star. Had 4 first team appearances before joining us, surely we could have negotiated better.

Out of interest, why not? We love signing these young potentially world class talents.
When was the last time we signed a globally known and coveted young player? Ronaldo maybe? And that was a long long time ago, and something of an outlier.

Yes and he's already better than Fred with a much higher ceiling. I've watched him loads he's coming in to start

But that's the point, this is a United type signing, the galatico signings that have been the clubs way since Fergie retired hasn't been the United way

You also can't compare signings today to those back in the early to mid 00's because we live with social media now where loads of young players are being hyped as the next this or that. If this was 2008 Camavinga would be the equivalent of Anderson for example

I'm not sure how you can say we spent too much on him when he's only been at the club for six months and is clearly a player bought for the future. Better to judge him in a few years.
Again, that is not the point. If we are to make these kind of deals regularly, picking up wonder kids for that to work you have to pay fair prices.

Agreed.
This lad looks to be an exceptional talent, generational some might say, if we have an opportunity to sign him, and for Euro30m, then it would be nuts to pass that opportunity up.

Depending on what you believe Amad may have cost us as little as £18m, we signed Bebe for 7m. Factor in inflation in transfer fees and Amad really wasn't that expensive

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
I’m convinced Pogba is staying but will be played on the left as a playmaker - I think we’re finally giving up on the Pogba in a deep pivot experiment. If that’s the case I think we’ll be signing a DM too - with Matic, Lingard, James, Martial (being linked with Ings again) and possibly DVB all at risk of being moved on to fund it.

"Generational talent" might be pushing it a bit. His hype is roughly the same as Anderson back then at the moment.

For €30 million euros it’s a no brainier in my opinion, I highly doubt he comes here though, no matter how much I’d like him to.

Pogba - Starter
Matic - Back up
McTominay - Decent starter
Fred - Decent starter
VDB - Doesn't play in the same position
Fernandes - Doesn't play in the same position
Hannibal - Doesn't play in the same position.

So as you can see, he would only be competing with 2 players for a starting berth. He'd have more of a chance at United than at PSG.
Maybe, maye not it isnt conclusive either way and for me you have named three he is competing with and Wijnaldum I think will be used further forward by them so diffent position too. It certainly isnt conclusive either way....but yes obviosuly I hope his team and him feel the same as you :)

For a 18 year old with 1 year left in his contract i wouldnt call him a "bargain", but do i want us to sign him? you bet i do! :D watched him for French NT where he was giving a very mature performance in the midfield, he's everything i hope Pogba would turn into, a box to box midfielder with good defensive awareness.
Yes, I see more an Edgar Davids but I think he can develop into a box to box, or even more a Kante single pivot type who he has also been compared too. On paper the age and contrct no it isnt super cheap....I am very confident its one of those in 2/3years if he comes will be very much beign spoken as a bargain though, have a lot of faith he would be a stellar signing over time

When has Kante successfully played as Single Pivot ever it completely nullifies all his great attributes some managers have experimented with it but abandoned once they realised it simply doesn't work.

We dont need him unless we sell Pogba. We need an experienced DM for our starting 11. I dont trust Solskjaer with youngsters either. Another season with Mcfred will ruin any hope of a good season.

Agreed if we are selling Pogba then Camavinga is to replace him. We do need an experienced CDM although if we get Camavinga and keep Pogba Ole could try him as a CDM.

Greenwood says otherwise. I could be wrong but I think mctominay had less games played than camavinga when Ole was interim manager. Camavinga is young in years but has 2 full seasons playing regularly in a top 5 league.

Sometimes we need to build the team (especially buy talented youngsters) regardless of the managers choice.

even if we don't get all of them (and there's still a very good chance we won't get any of them), it's very comforting that we seem to target the "right" players and the right positions this summer. Sancho made a lot of sense, Varane would be a no-brainer, Camavinga would make a ton of sense too. Trippier as well.
Good chance we won’t get any of them? Mate, Sancho is already done and dusted barring a serious injury before his medical!

I like that kind of players.
Someone said Edgar Davids...good. A fecking beast.

Fred - Camavinga midfield pair.

Their only mission - get the fecking ball and pass it forward to one of - Bruno, Sancho, Rashford, Cavani (Greenwood).
