Where are you getting information that he's good at progressive passing? None of the data I've seen says that (below average in fact). Excellent at progressive carrying for sure but not seen much to say he's as good at passing.
Isn't Fred really good for progressive passing? We've seen how good Maguire is at it, and Varane is decent for sure so I don't we have many concerns in that sense whoever we have.

Unless you hire the player and loan him out for 1 or 2 seasons, can't see the reason to hire him. He clearly is a talent for the future but he's not ready yet.

I'm still nervous about this one. With our tendency to dither and his low price tag, I can see other clubs swoop in decisively under our noses.

Whoever said this has Juventus/Bayern all over it are spot on - they love to snag a promising player on the cheap, Dortmund too who would probably sell him for a 300% profit down the line.

I hope I'm proven wrong and we wrap this up soon.

I really hope we get this guy, if the price is true aswell then that’s a bargain! He’s 18 years old. Are there any reliable sources actually linking us with him though?

Easily starts in our team.
He needs more experience, and he will not get it in a top club where players are demanded to be plug&play. But if the club is commited to hire young players, let them do mistakes so they can grow, it might work.
But looking how the fans react to some young players doing bellow averae performances, I'm not sure he would start in the team immediatly. Comparing him with Sérgio Oliveira as an example just because they share the same position, who is a good player but nowhere near top club material, he gets much worst stats either defensive and attacking compared to that guy.

Don't think it'll have anything to do with us "dithering". It'll be Camavinga's personal preference that will be decisive. By all accounts he'd prefer to stay in France, which means PSG are clear favourites.

I’d be most worried about Dortmund. You’re going to start every single game you are fit for, in the CL, plenty of easy league fixtures. can afford to match big club wages. It’s also almost becoming a rite of passage.

The hope is he backs himself and wants to move out of the easier leagues and try to become one of the worlds best asap. If you’re playing the longer game Dortmund have a super project. If you want it now come to us! The hope for us is we’ve learned from Bellingham and Haaland and will pull out all the stops to not have to pay those kinds of fees unless we really have to.

Sometimes a club being decisive and forthcoming with interest will often sway the player. We've often lost transfer targets to rivals because the player has often talked of feeling more 'wanted' by the other clubs.

He looks a top prospect for sure but I'd much rather us focus our funds on a more established DM. I mean he's surely not going to be ready now, are we signing someone else?

€30m is a lot less than we paid for Amad is it not?
I've seen Amad quoted at as little as 18mn in this thread but Laurie Whitwell at The Athletic always quotes the full price with add-ons €40mn+ because he says they're so easily achievable.

That's partly why I think this is such a no-brainer deal at the figures quoted. Amad looks very promising but he had nowhere near the profile and reputation that Camavinga has in the game when he signed. I had personally never heard of him whereas Camavinga is probably well known for a number of years on this forum. Along with Bellingham and Pedri, they're out on their own as U20 midfielders. France should be a feeding ground right now for clubs like United with all the financial issues their clubs are unfortunately facing.

Feels a bit like deja vu this one..

Seems the type who'll be linked to us. We will scoff at the fee or look elsewhere. Bayern will sign him and then it'll look like a bargain in 2 years.

This is my fear. Would be great to finally sign the player everyone drools over in a few years and curses that their club couldn't get the deal done those years back.

If we’re making an offer to Rennes, we’ve already agreed terms with the player.

It's almost two months left till the transfer window closed. You hassle and worry only if your commodity is shit. If yours is hot there's no hassle mate.
Agreed but they're going to want to get a replacement in and it's not fun doing last minute shopping when no one's selling good players.

Playing week in, week out, in Ligue 1 and playing in the CL, experience isnt a concern. We have plenty of experienced players and squad members. He would already displace McT or Fred in the McT & Fred combination. Don't care how old he is, so would Bellingham.

Would be nightmare if Dortmund enter the bid. We almost always lost our top best young targets to them, as they are clearly best stepping stone clubs for turning top young talent players into real star players. They just have plenty of money to spend from Sancho sales too, of course.

If he moves straight into the starting XI, then I expect his partner in midfield to be Fred. He is left-footed, and Fred is also left-footed. We should look at other options imo.

Glad he had an average season, otherwise you know the usual suspects would be circling around and pushing much more.

The talent is there. Another wonderkid for the midfield after Sancho would be fantastic, especially with the Pogba talk of potentially leaving.

Not seen much of him, saw a bit of him against Ukraine in a friendly game, i like his enegry and pressing, his passing was okay, he kept it simple and ticking, for that price i think it's wise to take a risk on him.
